Comments: Hi, my name is Sandra and I'm an ignoramus. ![]() I sure hope the girl's will still let me have brunch with them ![]()
Comments: Doc Southworth, when they come to collect our firearms, we all may be too old and sick to shoot the S.O.B.'s
Comments: Please try to bear in mind that all this discouraging public chatter about the proposed government mandated health care plan is likely to put a damper on President Obama's birthday celebration on August 4th. Let's all try to cut him some slack and lighten up. What if it was your birthday and the President went on his blog and started raggin' on you. What if the First Lady went all whacko and started twittering her pals about YOU on your special da? It could happen. Think how you'd feel. Gee, if you get this worked up over healthcare, you're liable to go all street rat crazy when we come around to collect your guns.
Comments: SNL, thanks for the update on Christie's husband Bill. You and I and several others witnessed what a sweet and caring husband he was to Christie, especially in her final days and despite being ill himself. It breaks my heart to hear that his health has worsened. I will certainly be in prayer for him and all the family.
Comments: Patient Capps, our medical records show your putter got the "yips" several years ago. Based upon quality of your golf game and life remaining, I would start looking for a plot at Restland.
Comments: As a proud "Frightened Ignorant" Republican who has first-hand experience in living in Kalifornia, and visited other communist places like Yugoslavia, I've seen what the current liberal mind-set does to people first-hand----how it destroys businesses, pits entrepreneurship against people who look for a handout, and people who love life against those who would have us just opt for "assisted suicide." Personally, I'll take capitalism and LIFE any day of the week over those 2 options.
Comments: I wanted to let ya'll know about the condition of Bill Torbett. He is the husband of Christie Blevins Torbett! For those of us who visited Christie when she was ill, we were able to meet & get to know Bill. His sister-n-law (Christie's sis) recently contacted me to let me know Bill has been diagnosed with colon cancer & he also has a tumor in his neck pressing against his carotid artery. They did surgery yesterday, 7-29, for the colon cancer & it went well. He will be in Baylor for a week & then his home. His dtrs will stay with him at his house. Bill is a terrific man & we got to see what a nice guy he is while visiting Christie. They said cards wd very much be appreciated! Please send them to his home, which is listed in our SOC Dir. The Torbett family has been thru a lot in the past yr & this is another devastating blow. Your prayers for Bill & his family will be appreciated.
Comments: Butterfinger- congads on the new job with the government. On this seniors meeting a few qwesions my friend. Does this 12 handicap include mulligans each side front and back of 18 holes? And on the hot putter issue, can Geo verify my putter is still hot? And I promise not to call you pruneman, buckethead or any of those other bad names any more like the Kid does (the Kid has no respect).
Comments: Canada just proudly announced that it has reduced the waiting period for gallbladder surgery from 18 months to 9 months. Know anybody who has or has had gallbladder problems?? Ask them about the pain. We don't need health care reform. We have the best health care in the world. People come from all over the world to get treated here. Part of that is being able to see a doctor on short notice. The Obama plan reeks of the plan Germany had in the 30s and 40s, the old, the mental ill and any "oddballs" take a pain pill, go sit in the corner and wait to die. You are not "worth" wasting medical care on. Except for a very few areas (like national defense) there is NOTHING the federal government does well. Much less better than it can be done privately. Of course, the best way to judge the plan is to see who is included. Congress? Federal employees? Major Union members? No, they are exempted. Must be a great plan if they get to opt out of it!!
Comments: Kathleen-This frighten ignorant person was wondering why this trillion dollar bill can not come to the floor even for debate.(one party system) Are they afraid the American people will see what is in it? Is it like the stimulus bill that had to be pushed overnight to cure the economy and keep the unemployment at bay with no ear marks that no one read ? (that was an expensive bomb) Is the same company that has run the bankrupted Medicare in the ground (fraud care) going to take a giant step and run the Nations Heath Care too? From the little I have seen of the bill at 59 and over years young, I will take my red tape insurance company vs the Obama Hospice Care.
Comments: Kathleen - the 79% approval rating for a Universal & Govmt run Healthcare plan is from the ignorant people you referred to who are being polled by the current administration - - NOT from those of us who know what is going on!! If you really want to know what the Govmt run Healthcare Plan in Canada is like . . . t/w real Canadian citizens, don't believe the "pie-in-the-sky" & "everything is great" rhetoric the Govmt is spewing. In my job I have quite a few Canadian clients & that is NOT what they say. They say if you're 60 or older you are pushed aside & even if you have a life threatening illness you may have to wait months & months to be able to schedule surgery. Why do you think so many European & Canadian citizens come to the US for treatment! OK that's it . . . too early to get so worked up!
Comments: I have sent our crooked President and his friends my name and address. I plan on being one of the 40,000 people to meet with senior citizens every 6 months. If your golf handicap is over 12, well I guess you had a good life. I'll set up shop at the first tee box and ask the questions. You guys in the Da Bear Golf Club will get a pass. If you have a good putter, you might get that operation Obama says you can have in 9 months.
Comments: According to the latest polls 79% of the American people are in favor of Universal Health Care. Maybe they think it is time the United States joined the other industrialized nations in having health care as a public option. Unfortunately insurance companies who control some politicians are lobbying to stop health care by lying and using scare tactics to frighten ignorant people into not supporting their own interests.
Comments: http://capwiz.com/fof/dbq/officials/ As we look at todays one party system a special thanks goes to 7 Dems in the House for saying hold on to the Obama Health Care Plan: This does Not mean they will not vote no, just debt this trillion dollar bill no one has read Roll of Honor John Barrow-Georgia Bart Gorden-Tenn Baron Hill-Indiana Jim Matheson-Utah Charlie Melancon-Louisiana Mike Ross-Arkansas Zack Space-Ohio The web at the top gives easy access to your local Senator or Congressman. If you look at Baron Gorden's sight you see he is in tune with G-ment spending with an in your face look at the deficit. I could vote for this guy. The Obama Administration is pushing this in the House to pass this week, before recess and the politicians have a chance to go home and see how very unpopular this bill is. I am not a political junky but we need to draw a line in the sand while we still can
Comments: Let's see, I got married in Oct., 68 and moved to Okinawa for 2 1/2 years - gosh what memories that brings back! Not actually in the military but might as well have been for some of the stuff we went through over there! |
