Comments: As you can see we are in Chama, New Mexico and having a great time. Wish you guys could all be here with us. The temp. right now is 62 degrees.
Comments: What's this about Richard getting caught "slingin' his lizard"? Is that some sort of California euphemism?
Comments: Richard - the vision I conjured up when reading what happened with you & the lizard . . . too funny!!
Comments: It was ugly, Jack. She started firing off curse words like a rapid fire pump shotgun; "you son of a BANG", you "son of a BOOM"...one after the other (more Castanza).
Comments: It's not his aftershave they like. They think his head is a nice warm rock and want to climb up on it and bask in the sun. Richard, that is a dance I can't even picture in my head. Wish there was a video of the whole thing. Especially what MaryAnn did to you afterward. SNL, you should have what you want, but actually the rolling action of the front loaders use less water, are more energy efficient and supposedly clean better in a shorter period of time. Funny, remember when there were ONLY front loaders? All the women were so excited when the top loaders came out. What goes around, comes around.
Comments: All - For a very, very helpful lesson about remembering things, please go to the first link below. I heard this lady interviewed by Laura Ingraham on the radio this morning. She is 96 years old. The second link is to a written interview of the lady, Emma Shulman, and has a picture of her. What she has to say is pretty interesting and worth a try.
Comments: My Wolf gas cook top has knobs too. They even light up red when the burner is on! I like the "retro" look! What I want to know is did you have to get another drink (& maybe pants) after slinging the lizard! Maybe you shd chg aftershave . . . I think they LIKE what you're wearing!!
Comments: SNL, so will slapping your laundry against rocks at the creek, but who wants that. You have that Wolf burner image to protect...it's a digital world out there, join it.
Comments: KMD - Richard - No, No, I don't won't a front-loading machine with all the electronic controls!! That's what the problem was, color was only offered in the high-end machines. I guarantee you, a manual control (knobs) top-loading machine will clean as well or better than one of those front-loaders w/all the digital automation.
Comments: Richard, you need to get a large cat or maybe a mongoose if you are encountering a lot of reptiles around the homestead. Fess up now, did you shriek like a girl? ![]() ![]() SNL, a woman's ability to shop or hunt for bargains is on a scale with a wild animal relentlessly stalking it's prey until it captures the prize. Great shopping girl. JD, I'm smiling with you. So happy for you and your family.
Comments: SNL, go to Best Buy...all the new front ends marked down to about $890 or so for the washer and about the same for the dryer...3 or 4 colors. Happy belated BD Jack, and I have another true story for you. Mary Ann makes a couple of martinis for us and we go to sit on the patio furniture and watch the sunset. Just as I hit the back part of the chair I sense I've trapped some creature between me and the seat cushion. From the corner of my right eye I see a reptile's head writhing, and hissing and plenty PO'd. Instinctively I grabbed the head and threw if with all my might.....right on to Mary Ann's neck. Well, the cursing, the yelling in Italian and some other language you wouldn't believe. I told her I thought is was a rattle snake, and that just added to the frenzy. I felt like George Castanza rushing from the fire. It was another lizard by the way. I'm still trying to get the yellow streak out of my spine.
Comments: Sorry Jack, that puny orange was the best the GB had to offer. But I will definitely refer to it as "burnt" orange in the future. Oh, I have a Cowboys rm in my hse, it's my office! I just haven't got my new ofc furniture yet & all the Cowboys stuff is still in the boxes as I haven't got any place to display it. I did dig out my flags out last season & 2 Dallas Cowboys flags fly ea game day! The washer & dryer were an unexpected bonus & a fluke. Did ya'll know that the manufacturers are only making WHITE washer & dryers now days!! Yuk, I wanted beige like Ive had for many yrs. No beige being made, only white or a few titanium. The only color I cd find was with GE & it was this blue or a deep red and only if you bought one of those new fangled things that on sale costs $1,019.99 just for the washer!! Some were even higher than that! Not gonna happen!! I searched the Net under every manufacturer & only a few offered a red or blue one, but all were over 1K. I gave up in disgust!! Didn't want a white one. On a trip to the Great Indoors to buy something I saw one of those front-end washers in blue as we were in plumbing checking out. Told Don I wd love to have that color in a plain ol' standard washer that didn't cost 1K. He sd he'd go ck 'em out while I paid. He came bk & sd you better come look at this! I did & it was this gorgeous blue set, manual controls & almost exactly like what I hve now & they were greatly discounted! I immediately asked the sls lady why they were discounted. Told me they were trying to clear out the warehse & this set never sold, apparently blue wasn't a big seller. They moved them to the floor in hopes someone wd like blue & they wd sell with the greatly reduced price. I asked the girl if she knew what colors these were & she looked puzzled a moment & then said, "Uh, I think they call it Magnum". I told her No, it's Cowboy Blue! She laughed & sd she just knew someone wd love this color & buy it if they moved it to the floor. I got an $800 washer for $408 & a $650 dryer for $383. Moral to this story . . . don't settle for something you don't really like, keep looking!! I wd nvr hve fnd this on the NET, only inside the store on the floor.
Comments: Shortcake, while in Chama go to Pasty's (if you can catch it open) and have a taco. I understand they are the BEST. Congrats, JD on two counts. SNL, that's BURNT orange!! Somehow I knew there would be a cowboy room in your new house. I just never thought it would be the laundry room....
Comments: JD (Conservative 66) - Congratulations on Jacobs upcoming little bro or sis!!! And what great news abt your dtr Jenna! What more can we ask for than for our children to be happy.
