I enjoyed a terrific brunch with other SOC girlfriends this morning. SNL had an idea for a special picture for Rick that we took and hopefully it turns out just right. The food was great and the only thing that would have made it better (besides not having to go in to work right afterwards) would have been for even more of our dear SOC girlfriends to have been there with us. It was great having the always beautiful Sue Ash McDow come out.  I guess Jack didn't get that updated change of venue since he was a no show.

Comments: Yes we got up this morning and had coffee outside and had to put a jacket on because it was only 50 degrees - thought of all of you in 90 degree weather - sorry. Drove into Taos and lunch with friends. Tonight we cooked steaks and baked potatoes and ate outside around the campfire and then had drinks around the fire - most of the females had blankets around us because it had rained during the day and turned really cool.   I could get used to this.See you guys late.

Comments: Sam Smith, I remember the Baker Hotel in Mineral Wells when we were going to Camp Dallas with ROTC at Camp Wolters. I don't know if it had guests then, but it did have a nice restaurant in the lobby. Quite ornate.

Comments: Sam -- I read about the Baker Hotel in Mineral Wells. Too bad, it's just standing vacant and not been refurbished. It looks like it once was a great place to stay. The hotel has an interesting history.
Comments: Jack, It was an easy derive since we went hwy 121 by DFW airport, connected to north 820 and straight to I-30. Next time we go, we're going to stop for a couple of hours and visit in down town Mineral Wells. Anyone get a chance to google the baker hotel and read the history?
Comments: Congratulations Ronney on your lovely daughter's graduation. She is positively beaming (much like you and your wife) in the photo. I know she will be a great success in her field. Linda P., maybe Ryan's hair turned white from fright while on her far off adventure. Glad she is home again.

She'll never forget those memories and probably won't realize how dangerous all of that was until...well, until possibly she's no longer afraid to stay in a house by herself...lol. You all enjoy yourselves tomorrow, Ladies! Capt'n Jack, little "a" is going out of the country to visit her husband's relatives. Does anyone know where the Smileys might be? Haven't heard from her in a few days. Heard from Shortcake this morning.....it's 50 degrees in Chama NM!
