It has been a while since I last posted.  However, I check in on the GB regularly.  Congrats to all the anniversaries celebrants that I have missed and Happy Birthday for those that I missed.  Also, I regularly include those in need of prayer

It is always interesting on the GB and I do enjoy being able to keep up with those who are posters.

I don't know if I have previously mentioned it, but my older daughter is expecting a baby in October.  So Joyce and I will have our third grandone this year.

Dale, do you sleep easy at night knowing Yuvonne has access to not only guns . . .  but bow & arrows in the house???

Good morning all.  Isn't the weather in the DFW area fantastic!!  Aug has seemed more like Sept & everything is so green, usually it's burned to a crisp by late Aug.

Hey, I was trying to plan our Fall Get-Together & had a suggestion from the peanut gallery.  What do ya'll think about Oct 3rd?    As most of you golfers know, the BMF Project Charity Golf Tournament will be held here on Fri, Oct 2.  Since some of the guys will be in town for the golf, why not have the party the next day as they will most likely stay over any way.  I know I can't please everyone, but will Sat, 10-3 work for most everyone??  Please comment as time is short!

I've been told by the hunters in our grp they won't attend if it's the 1st or 2 wkends in Nov as that's the beginning of deer hunting season.  Poor Bambi!!

To all of my friends at SOC, Thanks for the B-day wishes. Sammy, Sammy, and Rusty, I hope you had a great day. Thanks again for all the prayers and support this last year. To all of our friends in the guest book and other class mates who have special needs my prayers are with you...they do work. Happy birthday Mario, and to all I missed.

H a p p y  B i t h d a y wishes go out to Mario Fuentes, on 9/1 (just barely)!  Mario, you need to come up for air, more beer, extra lime & check-in once in a while.  But, it’s your birthday, so wherever you are, just sleep it off.  We hope you have a great one & that we’ll see you at our next mini - best wishes!

Pool Guy - Take a look at that black & white '59 Oliver team pic in the 'Misc. Photos' section.  I'm on the 2nd row from bottom, 2nd from right, next to Gary H., with his gaper wide.  Budman's up on the top row, sitting to the right of Coach Turner.

I was a squirt & had no choice but to be in the backfield.  Tommy Brown was left half back, David Hamm was full back & I was right half back.  I think the 3 of us might've weighed 250 lbs., total, soaking wet & wearing all our gear!

I'd give anything to be able to run like that again - w/o breaking or ripping something.

Ya know, if I don't log in every day I end up back-peddlin'...so, happy birthday/anniversary to all over the past 10 days.
Update on Shannon: All prayers have been greatly appreciated and she has done fabulously well! She was able to go to her boys football games last Saturday. I can't imagine, but she wasn't going to miss them.
It's amazing how quickly the drs. put people back on their feet now. Thanks again. My prayers are as always to our classmates in need.

Labor Day Weekend Sept 6 & 7, The Night the Music Died at The Palace Theater, 300 Main St.,Grapevine, TX (2:30 pm and 7:30 pm both days) A recreation of their last show performed just hours before Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and the Big Bopper died in a plane crash.  They will give a group rate for a group of 12 or more. They also have a reduced price for seniors.  Anyone want to organize a group? Sorry, we plan to be out of town that weekend.

Thanks for the sage advise, Budman. I wondered why when Butterfingers reached in his left pocket he always came out with one of those big pink erasers. And when he reached in his right pocket he came out with a big art gum eraser. Also now understand why when everyone else has one of those short pencils without an eraser you have a Big Moe in your pocket. Since I didn't play this week, who will be sending me money for not having to ride with me??
