Place: LV, TX Comments: Very sorry for failing to post b'day & anniv announcements this month. Had multiple work-related & medical issues. But, getting caught up today, plus, working on a new SOC Memorial Day post for later. B'days first ... H a p p y B i r t h d a y wishes go out to James Kidd for May 9th, Barbara Crume Fugate for May 25th, and Ann DelRegno Hoose for May 27th! James, Barbara & Ann – We hope you all were wined & dined by loved ones to celebrate your big day. Best wishes for many more!
Place: Richardson Comments: We're very excited today because we get 2 out of the 4 G-kids for the week! It's the 2 boys, who are now 16, and the 2 girls later in the summer. These 4 G-kids have so much going on it's hard to find a week in between practices for volleyball, cheerleading and football. And then there's church camp & a family vacation. We haven't seen any of them since 1-1-20. Looking forward to hugging them!
Place: Sunny in Richardson Comments: nice to hear from you Barbara! Yes, we lost a good man, Rocky Ramsey. Our class lost a good one too, Robert (Bob) Hook. Thank God for all the men and women who have fought and dies for our country. Remember those who didn't come home . . .
Place: Atlanta Comments: I remember Rocky Ramsey, one of my brother Bobby’s best friends, class of 65. Rocky was killed in Vietnam. I often thought of his parents over the years and the unfulfilled promise of that sweet young man. Saluting and honoring Rocky and all of those who died protecting and serving us. God bless their souls and grant peace to their loved ones.
Place: SYucky in Richardson Comments: I guess I'll just leave the smiling sun as the photo . . . maybe wishful thinking. I thought about changing it, but it's the only sun I'm seeing!!
Place: Soggy in Richardson Comments: We had a great time at the ball game yesterday!! Rangers swept the Astros with another win Sunday in 10 innings . . . 3-2! We got a little damp getting into the stadium but it was dry & good inside. The seats were real good & so was parking pass. We went to Tupinamba's at Walnut Hill & Hwy 75 afterwards. Remember the old Tupinamba's in Oak Cliff!? Well, that closed long time ago & this one opened about 3 yrs ago. Still good food! By time we left restaurant it was 8:00pm. First time for us to go out without ever putting on a mask. It was an odd and strange feeling. No mask at ball Field and no mask at Tupinamba's. It felt like FREEDOM! Will still wear one at grocery stores and Drs ofc, but for a day things felt normal.
Place: Soggy Richardson Comments: Yes, George & Laura Bush have season tickets and are regulars at the games. Thank goodness we now have a roof!! If not, I can't imagine how many games would have been postponed because of the rain.
Place: Soggy Carthage, TX Comments: Hi Carol and Sandy. Our son Jeff and his wife Stormi went with her folks to today’s game. Sounds like they thoroughly enjoyed it. Saw where George W. And Laura went also.
Place: Still Rainy in Richardson Comments: Rain, rain, go away, come again . . . in July! Carol, Don and I are good. Been watching a lot of baseball and trying to take care of yard in between the showers. Just finished up watching the Rangers beat the Astros 8 -4 and last night 7-4! We have tickets to the game tomorrow. A vendor (landscaping company I've used 8 yrs for the HOA) sent me 4 tickets and a parking pass to the game. How cool is that. We're taking my brother and his wife. We're all 4 very excited because we love the Rangers and the seats are right down front on the 11th row just a hair to the right of the Rangers dugout. My favorite spot . . . down the 1st base line. Will be nice to get together with them again and go out to the new stadium! Hope all is well with all our SOC friends!
Place: Overland Park, Kansas Comments: It’s been awfully quiet here recently. Hope that everyone is well. Love to all. 🙏❤️🙏
Place: lazy S Ranch Comments: Jack, I'm sure you reference " Dale, you little precious thing", And we all still use the S in our last name. You were right about my struggles with books though, but by the time I left SOC I could color inside the lines on most of them.Coincidentally I am currently writing a screenplay. In the opening scene one of those white birds down at the coast comes flying in and lands on one of those floating markers in the bay. It's sort of a buoy meets gull story. Glad we could chat.
Place: Sachse Comments: Dale, I know, over the years, you have been called by a LOT of names, most which can't be written here, but I didn't think you had dropped your S name. I always kinda favored "Dale, you little..." So now it's just Y's? What about the boys? Do they still use the S name or have they picked one of your "other" names to go by? Maybe you should write a screenplay. I know you always struggled with books.
Place: Lazy S ranch Comments: jack, Yuvonnes' last name has started with a S for 50 years and almost 9 months. so we put up the letter S in honor of her cute little S.
Place: Richardson Comments: Jack - regarding your question . . . Consider the person you are asking for clarification! You may get an interesting and brain strain answer!
