Place: Hot as Heck in Richardson Comments: You're right Jack, they know all the problems yet fail to do anything to correct them. Funny how the news last night kept implying it was the wind turbines fault because the wind wasn't blowing enough! Really?! As you said, they still haven't figured out you have to have constant wind and sun out there if they are going to generate power. Duh! If our power goes out I may have to buy one of those small kiddie pools and put on my patio (shade) with water.
Place: Sachse Comments: Wind's not blowing so the turbines are not producing. Solar does not work at night, so no help for the load. And more that "normal" plants off line for repair. I wonder if any new plants have been built since Comanche Peak. I somehow doubt there is any money in the new "infrastructure plan" for power plants!
Place: SunshineAbounds in Richardson Comments: Wow! We go from 3 weeks of almost rain or drizzle everyday to sun and oppressive heat! ERCOT keeps threatening us with possible power outages. Really?? After mid February debacle they still can't get their act together. Hope everyone keeps power and stay out of this extreme heat. Been 99 last few days but heat indexes well over 100+. Dangerous!
Place: Richardson - slightly sunny! Comments: Rick Mitchell called today. He and Brenda are trying to come to terms with loosing their son On May 31. It's not an easy thing to do, but he wanted everyone to know how grateful they were for the kind words and prayers from this group. Oddly enough, somehow we got into talking about the Vietnam war and how awful it was and the friends and fellow soldiers he lost. It was an interesting stroll down some old and painful memories of the folks we've lost and miss. Rick is definitely one of the "Good Guys". Praying God will help heal their broken hearts.
Place: Raining again in Richardson Comments: It continues to rain off/on everyday. It's so dark right now, another one coming! Carol, that's so great you connected with an old friend from the SOC band. It always makes me happy to reconnect with someone I knew from many years ago. It's fun to remember some of the good ol' days when we were young and carefree.
Place: Overland Park, KS Comments: Hi, everyone! What a beautiful Overland Park day! I have a new SOC friend on Facebook - John Payne (Class of ‘67). John very recently joined Facebook and said via Messenger that he is happy to reconnect with old friends. John was a member of the Gold and White Band - and truly one of the nicest guys at SOC (high praise considering that we had “oodles and oodles” of nice guys at SOC - 😍). If you want to send a friend request, search for “John Payne - South Oak Cliff” in Facebook - or just click on John’s picture on my Facebook page. Love to all! Keep staying healthy! ❤️ (Who will be the next SOC friend to appear on Facebook? Don? Mario? Paul? 😊)
Place: OP, KS Comments: Great news from Deanna and Gary! 💕
Place: Carthage, Texas Comments: That really is great news. Glad to hear Deanna is better. Hang in there Gary.
Place: Deanna Dagley Update Comments: Good news! Dr said there was some slight blockage but not enough to put in a stent. Will change her medication and hopefully that will correct the afib problem. Deanna and Gary are grateful for the prayers and wanted y'all to know that. Get well quick Deanna!!
Place: Overland Park, KS Comments: Prayers for Deanna and Gary and their family - 🙏💕🙏. “We sure could use a little good news today.”
Place: Deanna Dagley in hospital Comments: Wanted to let everyone know Deanna Dagley ( Gary's wife) was taken to the hospital because her afib was out of control. They will be doing an angioplasty in the morning to determine if blocked arteries. Please think of Deanna & Gary and put them in your prayers. Hope to have a good update tomorrow.
Place: LV, TX Comments: Many thanks for all your kind words and thoughtful condolences. I let Rick know of your posts when he felt up to reading them. Best regards to all.
Place: Overland Park, KS Comments: Don - Thank you for your Memorial Day tribute ro our fellow SOCites. ❤️ I’m heartsick to learn about the passing of Rick’s son. 🙏 for peace and comfort for Rick and his wife. 💕 Take care, everyone. 🥰
Place: CA Comments: This is a another tough read; regarding Rick Mitchell's son. It's hard enough reading about losing a classmate, but when we have a classmate going through the loss of a child/grandchild, etc., it's just worse. I wish Rick and his family the best., and the same to all those who have experienced this type of terrible loss.
Place: Waller TX Comments: Our condolences and prayers to Rick and family. Janice and Randall |
