Comments: I hate to pile on bad news, but Don & I truly need your prayers. I am asking on behalf of Don's brother, James Broughton. He got EColi from a restaurant there in Hstn abt 2 mo ago. He was very ill & Dr gve him some strong antibiotics for 10 days. Got better, then abt 3 wks later he started gtng very sick again & began to throw up blood. His wife rushed him to hospital & he's bn hospitalized in ICU since Nov 7. He's not gtng better & has taken turn for the worse! Will do surgery this afternoon to remove his very infected colon & whatever else they think needs to be done. He is so bloated & ballooned up he can't breath well. Due to stress on his heart he had a mild heat attack Tue. This is scary & we're all in shock as it suddenly took a turn for the worse!! Please, today & this weekend, pray that James makes it thru surgery & that his condition will begin to improve! I would greatly appreciate your prayers!!!
Comments: I recvd update from Jill, Donna's dtr. Donna's surgery won't happen tda, maybe next wk. She's taken a bad turn & as you can see, our old SOC friend sure needs our prayers!! I decided to just copy & paste Jill's msg so you can read what she wrote. Donna, hang in there girl, us SOC people are tough! I love ya & will keep praying for your improvement. "She is not on the ventilator now. She will need to go on it for the surgery. The doctor had said she could probably come home for the weekend (return Monday for surgery Tuesday)since she has not been home for nearly 2 months and she was doing much better. She was very excited, but started feeling really sick last night. This morning they told her she could not come home. Her blood pressure has dropped really low and they say that she is having kidney problems now, probably due to the diabetes. I called her a bit ago but she did not feel like talking. I am really worried. I thought she was getting better. Thank you for the prayers and please keep them coming. Jill "
Comments: McMakin - I say FACT!  Coasty Don, hope you know YOU are included in that sentiment!! It was good to see on TV all the neat things being done yesterday for the Veterans. Donna Rexroat Holman's surgery will not take place tda. Her lungs are not strong enough for surgery. I'm expecting a full update shortly.
Comments: FACT OR FICTION? Bovie Browning was and usher in my wedding many, many years ago. He left early because there was no Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer being served.
Comments: Sent to our SOC '66 vets earlier today: Sending my personal best regards & wishes to you all today, plus our Marines on the 235th anniversary of the Corps, yesterday.
Sincere thanks for your service to our country and the countless sacrifices that some will never appreciate.
Lastly, prayers for all our fallen classmates, family members & friends who ‘gave all’ and continue to live in our memories.
