T/W Don a little bit ago.  Abt 5:00pm tda they came in & moved James to a reg rm.  Bn 8 days in ICU.  He's now hooked up to a heart monitor as cardiologist said he sees evidence of two mild heart attacks recently.  Had to take most all of his colon, but they think they can reconnect it in maybe 3 to 4 mo.  He's breathing well & able to talk.  Will be in hospital for quiet a while as will need PT to be able to start walking again when they allow him up.

Thank you SOC friends for your prayers & kind thoughts!!  It's nice to have the support of friends!  We're praying the worst is over & he'll make small improvements each day.

Ada Ann -- Congrats on your good report; that must be a relief.  Don, I'm glad that your brother is doing better, and that SNL's brother-in-law is improving and Toni's stepson is improving also.

We've been gone since Thursday (back yesterday) to Beaver's Bend, OK to the yearly festival there and drove the Talimena Trail Scenic Drive which I believe rivals the beauty of the leaves in the Northeast.  What awesome vistas and beauty in the landscape God created.

As for Donna RH's status, They postponed the heart surgery she was to have last Fri the12th.  She wasn't strong enough.  Jill sd as soon as Dr rescheduled surgery she wd let me know.  Donna remains in the hospital as Dr decided against letting her go home for wkend pass.  As soon as I hear from Jill I will let ya'll know.  She still needs our prayers as she still has to have the open herat surgery!

Toni - Keep us posted on Stephen's progress & I hope to hear from Don later tda about his bro James' condition.

Life is good!  Now, how about Donna RH?  And her daughter, Jill?  Yes, we have all been through alot, but I have decided that all of the stress has made us a closer group.  There is nothing we can't do if we stick together!  Thank you all for the support you have given me.  I am so happy for the recoveries of the others in my Kick A** Club.

How about Jason the 'Boys' tonight against the NYG?  I thought Tom Coughlin was going to lose his mind!

I know the Giants had a streak going, but so did the Boys - the wrong kind!  So, I'm very glad to see both streaks broken & hope our 'new & improved' team is back.

SNL - That's very encouraging news about Don's brother, James.  Prayers continue that he's on the rebound & will make a speedy recovery.

Prayers continue for all others who've needed our support & prayers during the past week or so.

Brother Doug had his 6-mo. check-up since stem cell therapy - nothing detected on cancer 'radar'!

Thank you so much for your prayers for my bro-n-law, James!  He made it thru the surgery late Fri & was still on a ventilator.  No one's cell pho works in that darn hospital so we don't hear from anyone until they get home late at night.  By Sat night he was still on ventilator & Don's mom was not holding up well.  Don left very early Sun morning for Hstn & will be there for several days.  He stepped outside for a few minutes Sun evening to call me with some great news!    They took James off the ventilator Sunday afternoon and he & Don had a conversation! The swelling has started to go down & he is able to now breath on his own.  James had no idea he's been in the hospital for a week & had surgery!!  Thank You so much for the prayers  . . . they worked!!!  Hopefully tmo will show continued improvement.

Toni - Great news about Stephen!!!  Miracles do happen when we least expect them!

Been a long wkend,  good night all

SNL, any word yet about Don's brother James? We all certainly hope and pray he comes through this ordeal. Toni, that's such encouraging news about Stephen. I can feel your joy over the progress.

Mike and I had a treat today watching our grandson Trey in his first "rock concert". Trey just turned 11 and has been taking electric guitar lessons for about 6 months. The event was held at the music school where he takes lessons and it was such fun watching the kids perform. They all did a great job, including the 11 year old girl singer in his group.

Ada, count me in on the chain!  So sorry to hear of all the bad news admist our small bit of good news.  Stephen was transferred to a long-term facility in Carrollton and has been off of the ventilator for a full 24 hours now.  He has undergone p/t and s/t and is holding is own!  Katie even thinks that she might tackle his hair today.  He continues to receive dialysis daily.  I just about dropped my phone when I received a picture of a male nurse walking Stephen and his IV around the ICU.  Miracles do happen!

Sandy Mc - fiction!

Congrats, Ada Ann!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that's great news
Happy belated birthday to those I missed.
Prayers to those who need.

I stumbled across a show last night, Shakey's Hill, on the military channel that I would recommend to anyone who is/was curious about what it was like in Vietnam. This is not a movie, but was filmed by a combat cameraman serving with the 5th of the 7th in Cambodia in mid 1970. While I believe that Vietnam was truly a unique experience for everyone who served there, this gives a no glamor, day to day life as a jungle grunt.
