Comments: For those of you who are big Aretha fans, you probably heard she had surgery last wk. They didn't reveal what it was for or what the problem was. Last night on the wires it was revealed that she has pancreatic cancer!! Oh gosh, another big star with pancreatic cancer, which is more or less a death sentence as it's not curable. I remember what Michael Landon & Patrick Swayse went thru. For many of us, she's still the singer who can make someone alone, or in a crowd, pick up whatever is handy & start singing along . . . "R-E-S-P-E-C-T", or "Think, you better think . . ." I'm sad just thinking about her. She had a voice that was unmatched. Get better Aretha!

They have a museum there for him and everything. Thanks Tall Cake....I kind of like my grandchildren also. They are a lot of fun.
Comments: H a p p y 42nd A n n i v e r s a r y !!! to Gary & Deanna Dagley, on 12/7! Gary – I don’t have any notes regarding your wedding day, but I’m sure there was something newsworthy about it, so please fill me/us in with a few details – nothing dirty, of course (your secrets are safe with your friends). Major congrats to both of you & best wishes for many more!
Comments: H a p p y B i r t h d a y wishes go out to Duane Chafin, for 12/7! Duane – I guess we’ll always have to rag you about putting your folks thru child birth on the anniversary of Pearl Harbor Day, of all the dates you could’ve chosen from. Best wishes for many happy returns!
Comments: Happy anniversary Barbara and Eddie - and here's to many more! Our little Hudson can officially ride with his car seat facing the front since he's one year old and weighs 20 lbs. Thanks for the post Sandy. Thanks Karen MD! I still stay grandones are our reward for his killing their parents when they were young! What a concept! Is it just me or does anyone else hear the sound of sleigh bells jingling, ring-ting-tingling too? And no, I haven't been drinking Don Lincoln's favorite! There is tonight though!!
Comments: I remember it like it was yesterday. Congrats Barb & Ed.
Comments: HAPPY 42nd ANNIVERSARY BARBARA & EDDIE!!!
Comments: BELATED H a p p y 42nd A n n i v e r s a r y !!! to Eddie & Barbara (Williams) Arnold, on 12/6! Notes say they became a couple at couple at SOC in ’64, thanks to Eileen Sandifer; formal wedding was at Barbara’s parent’s new home in ‘68; Richard Nance was Ed's best man; they honey-mooned in San Antonio, then lived in Oak Cliff for 3 months before Ed left for the Navy. Major congrats to both of you & best wishes for many more!
Comments: Great new pictures of grandones on the Pride and Joy page. Shortcake and Toni, you girls can be proud as peacocks of those beautiful grandones. Sad to hear about Dandy Don. Loved him on Monday Night Football. Hope it wasn't the Cardiac Cowboys nail biting game on Sunday that sent him to that Big Playing Field in the Sky.
Comments: One of my favorite Dandy Don stories was in Walt Garrisons book "A Real Cowboy". Walt says he was sitting by Merideth on a flight home from a game when the engines failed and the plane started a 45 degree free fall and while everyone else was screaming like little girls, Don just looked over at Walt and said "Well, Little Puddin.... it's been a good'en! The plane engines caught and leveled out and all were fine but Walt knew Merideth was one cool character. |
