Charlotte - Grandone # 5 is adorable & mom & dad will have a whole new experience this time!!  One dtr turning 20 next mo & then baby Darby!!! Oh my!

Good news abt Don's bro James.  Fri, w/help of 2 strong nurses, he walk around the bed.  Sat he took 25 steps.  Sun w/aid of walker, he took 85 steps!!  Also all the lines have now bn removed. Won't be home for Thanksgiving, but we are all thankful for his continued recovery.  Will move him later this wk to diff part of hospital, which is rehab/PT facility.  Has long way to go but he will make it.  Thank you dear friends for all the prayers as they are deeply appreciated!!!

Linda, I know what you mean.  To buy a full pantry of groceries for lots of people for 4-5 days, it's at least a 2 hr job.   Then when you get home there's the chore of finding a place to put it all & making sure you put what you will use 1st towards the front.  I've got all the upstairs bdrms ready, menus made out, groceries bought.  Tmo I'll PU last minute stuff like milk & bread & Wed I'm off so I can cook my desserts.  It's a lot of work, but can't wait to see the little rascals on Wed evening, ...and of course their mom & dad!

Linda, wear your glasses next time and it won't take you so long.  What happened? you couldn't find your car?!?
Charlotte, your grand daughter is precious. Congratulations.  I didn't know you had so many grand kids.
Lots of sickness!  Glad to see everyone seems to be improving.  Prayer continues for those mentioned.
Lots to be thankful for.
My daughter, Ashley, was due Nov. 7 and still has not had Eli.  She was on the Elliptical when I called a few hours ago.
Back to cleaning..was just taking a break.

Congratulations Charlotte on your new grandone; Darby looks like she is the apple of her father's eye.

Speaking of getting ready for Thanksgiving company -- had my carpets cleaned today; tomorrow I'll be shopping for a new bedspread for my guests' bedroom.  Spent 2 hours yesterday grocery shopping.  The things we do to get ready for the holidays!

Good reminder Rick.  Many children never see any gift, much less a toy for Christmas!  Are you still heavily involved w/the Angel Tree?  Don't you arrange for the names of the Angels & handle most of that for your Co?

Just a reminder, every year the Salvation Army has a Angel tree set up at area malls. you adopt an angel and buy gifts for the child. Thousands of children will have no presents under the tree if we don't give of our resources (money) to help their parents provide them a merry Christmas.

Good mrng SOC Gang!!  It's so pretty here, makes you glad to be alive!!  TGIF!!!!

Our triplets plus their 10-mo-old sis will be arriving Wed, along w/their parents!  What a great Thanksgiving weekend!!!  I'm taking Wed as vac day so can get my pies made & things ready for everyone.  As long as it doesn't rain we'll be fine.  We go to the park, play ball & other outdoor activities.  If it rains . . .  we're screwed!!     When I turn my pc off Tue evening I won't be back on it much while they're all here, so if it's important . . .  call me!.

I loved the letter, JD!  My kinda guy!

Ada, Everett claims he will soon be out of time out...or not!   I'm still watching for his fall foliage (inside Facebook).

SNL, sure hope James is on the mend soon.  I've been down that road with John and it surely is a long one.

Stephen continues on p/t and s/t.  He has really received a workout but continues the fight.

Continued prayers for all of our SOC friends and family who are ill.

Don got bk frm Hstn last nite.  He found his brother James even more seriously ill than he had imagined!  The Ecoli & subsequent infection it caused nearly killed him!  The infection is gone & they're waiting for him to gain some strength B4 they do any add'l tests on his heart.  He's very weak & still connected to numerous tubes & lines, but we believe the worst is over & it will take lots of time for him to gain enough strength to go home.  Not going to happen by Thanksgiving.  Once again, Thank You for your concern & prayers!!  They mean a lot & I believe the prayers brought James thru the worst of it, plse continue prayers for healing.   Love to all & may we all remember our many blessing next week as we celebrate Thanksgiving!

JD - that post abt the boss is hysterical.  I like his way of thinking!!

Lay Off Letter

Little wonder why this guy is boss.  He is sharp!

Dear Employees:

As the CEO of this organization, I have resigned myself to the fact that Barrack Obama is our President and that our taxes and government fees will increase in a BIG way.  To compensate for these increases, our prices would have to increase by about 10%.   But since we cannot increase our prices right now due to the dismal state of the economy, we will have to lay off sixty of our employees instead.   This has really been bothering me since I believe we are family here and I didn't know how to choose who would have to go.

So, this is what I did.  I walked through our parking lots and found sixty 'Obama' bumper stickers on our employees' cars and have decided these folks will be the ones to let go.  I can't think of a more fair way to approach this problem.  They voted for change......I gave it to them.

I will see the rest of you at the annual company picnic.

The Boss
