Place: McKinney Comments: well we got the estimate and what they are doing and I cannot believe insurance is not totaling it. $23,000. They are replacing the hood and front bumper, the doors, the sun roof and the windows. They have had it over a week and are only 20% done. i am really curious as what value the insurance has on it. I looked on line and a new 23 Corsica is at 46,000. I have had it for 3 years so it does not make a lot of sense. Have not heard about the cost of the new roof.
Place: Richardson Comments: Oh my gosh Karen, I can only imagine the damage it did to your beautiful car!! I saw several FB posts from people in the Kerville area and around there and those were huge hailstones! We only got abut 1 minute of small pea sized hail here. We were lucky!
Place: McKinney Comments: great timing - we went to Kerrville last week for dinner with several different friends. It was great seeing them all - until Sunday.severe thunderstorms were predicted so we had an early dinner and went home. It started raining really hard and then the first ping sounded. For almost 30 minutes we watched hail the size of golf balls, and some bigger hit our car. Windshield broken and hail marks on every panel of the car. Put the car in the shop - car rental looking for a car- all of theirs got hail damage Monday night. Finally got one. Cars in the shop and waiting for estimate on it and the roof of our casita.
Place: Richardson Comments: Funny thing Jack . . . I have been trying for 15 years to get Opening Day tickets. No luck! Unless you are a Season tickets holder, half season, or at minimum, a 20-game, you can't get access until they've all chosen. I would check everyday, no go. Finally in 2023 my email got picked and I got 2 tickets. And if you remember, we won the WS that year!! ![]() Here's hoping, since I got tickets this year, it's a good sign and we win the WS again this year!
Place: Sachse Comments: Glad y'all got to go. Sounds like a great day, except for the final score.
Place: Richardson Comments: It was good, other than that 9th inning 3-run home run by Boston!! We got there just before 12:30 and roof was open until about 4pm when the clouds starting rolling in. Beautiful day! Section 126 Row 3. It was down the first base line, my favorite place to sit, down the first base line! We decided to eat at SaltGrass, which is just across I 30 from Ball Park, and then head home. Let a few of the crazies clear out first. Good day but long, we arrived at GLF little before 12:30 and got home just before 8pm.
Place: Sachse Comments: How was opening day at the BallparK?? Where were your seats?
Place: Sunny & Beautiful in Richardson Comments: It's Feb. 25th and it's like a great spring day here and around DFW! Weather looks great for the next 2 weeks. Hopefully this means Mother Nature has had her last hurrah for winter and we'll roll into spring.

Place: Richardson Comments: It saddens me to say Jimmy Hodnett has passed away. His wife, Sandi, posted a short message a few hours ago on FB. I know many of you are not on FB, so I wanted to let you know. Unfortunately, Parkinson's has taken his life today, 2-11-25. Please keep Sandi Hodnett in your prayers as it's been a rough 4 years for her as she has taken care of Jimmy and stayed strong for him. God Bless her.
Place: mancos, co Comments: Sandy...I think all us SOCites appreciate you efforts. Keep it up. As for me, I'm just puttting along. Rusty
Place: Richardson Comments: I'm just going to be brief, our friend & classmate, Jimmy Hodnett, isn't doing well at all. the Parkinson's Disease has taken a toll on him. Per Sandi Hodnett today, "Jimmy has been put on Constant Care Hospice. It will be just a matter of time." Please keep both Jimmy & Sandi in your prayers. God Bless them. |
