Our 15 minute blackout lasted 2 hours .  The good thing about the RV is that we have a backup generator and got it going immediately so we were not cold and I had coffee!!!!   Course my Dr.'s office called and said that it probably would not do any good for me to come in because they could not use any of their machines.

These teams are used to this cold weather - they could have left it at home.  Don't mind snow but hate the ice!

This is awful.  Apparently TX can't handle the add'l power needed for people to keerp warm & ALL of TX is experiencing rolling blackouts!!  Our first was at 6:50am & it was off 15 min.  Then at 8:20am it was offf abt 8 min.  Oncor says it's happening thru out the entire state at the request of ERCOT!  Geeez!

Karen, so sorry to hear of your loss.  My prayers will be with you and your family.

Hello to all fellow snow/ice bunnies or hibernating "bears".   This is JUST NOT RIGHT!!  Anyone want to head way south?
All take care and watch your steps!

I just finished all my Month-End rpts & taking a breather.  JD, you hit the nail on the head!  That's exactly what 2 Packer fans said as they were being interviewed at lunch tda!!  Also some Steeler fans sd it feels like Spring to them!!!     I think the 2 teams brought this mess with them just to get even with the 'Boys!

Yes the Pack are going to practice at Highland Park H.S. indoor facility after they get thru w/Media Day at Cowboys Stadium tda.  We have 18 wheelers jack-knifed all over the Frwys & big over passes!!  But we also have lots of sand trucks running around everywhere!  Hopefully tmo will be a little better & it will be off the major roads by Thur.  At least Sat & Sun are forecasted to have some sun & low 40 & 50 temps.  Too bad the SB wasn't last wkend... we had nothing but sun & temps reaching upper 70s!!!

SNL...thanks for the weather...believe me when I say...they probably think it is mid-summer. Now that the weather is so bad for that part of the country my beloved Packers have to practice at the indoor facility at Highland Park H.S. SMU doesn't have an indoor facility and that was to be their practice field.

Now, please understand the following joke is one reason there is no love lost between Packer and Bear fans...

JOKE:

Two boys are playing hockey on a pond in a Chicago park when one of the boys is suddenly attacked by a crazed Rottweiler.  Thinking quickly, the other boy takes his hockey stick, shoves it under the dog's collar, twists it and breaks the dog's neck, saving his friend.

A reporter is standing by, sees the incident, and rushes
over to interview the boy. "Young Cub Fan Saves Friend from Vicious Animal" he starts writing in his notebook.

"But I'm not a Cub Fan", the little boy replies.
"Sorry but since we're in Chicago , I just assumed you were", says the reporter and starts writing again. "Sox Fan Rescues Friend from Horrific Attack,"  he writes in his notebook.

But I'm not a Sox Fan either," the little boy replies.
"Sorry but since we're in Chicago , ' I just assumed you were," says the reporter and starts writing again.  "Bears Fan Rescues Friend from Horrific Attack," he writes in his notebook.

"I'm not a Bears Fan either," says the boy. "Oh... I assumed everyone in Chicago was . . . What team do you root for?" the reporter asked.   "I'm a Packers fan,"  the boy replies.

The reporter starts a new sheet in his notebook and writes...

"Little Bastard from Wisconsin Kills Beloved Family Pet"

Woke up this mrng to ice pellets hitting the windows! Sleeted for couple hrs & have abt 1-2" on the ground depending on how the wind stacked it up!!

JD - Wanted the Pack to feel at home in DFW, so we ordered them some ice & chilly weather!!  It's 20* here w/wind chill of 3*.  Real temp dropping tonight & tmo night down to single digits.  But hey, Game day looks great w/sun & mid 50's.  Gonna be a great game!!
