My Dad will be released from rehab next month and we (my sister, brother, Dad and I) have a meeting set for Wednesday afternoon with medical and administrative personal at Christian Care Center where he has lived independently up until his illness/injury a few weeks ago. While my Dad has recovered from all infections, we now know that his knee will not get better, leaving him unable to walk or place any weight on it. We will be discussing whether he is eligible to move to the assisted living facility there (considering his new disability) or if it must be in the rest home facilities. I know many of us have been through this with aging parents and it's not fun. Dad is keeping a pretty good outlook throughout it all and I just hope the transition will be as painless as possible.
