Place: Richardson Comments: All I gotta say is "When do you people sleep??!!" my goodness we have some night owls! KMD - I'm glad to hear your dad is doing better. I know you & your loving family will make the best decision for his well fare & future. He is lucky to have you & your siblings to give him help & your love! Please keep us posted! Don L - What were you thinking???? Going back to work so soon & knowing you had 2 flights of stairs to climb!! You must give your back time to heal or you will cause a set-back! "AT Ease Coasty!"Mike Dunn - I got the info & will take care of it in abt 5 min! Love to all & let's take care of ourselves!! Heck I'm planning a mini for Apr 16 & a big party for our 45th in the fall. I want ALL of you to be here for both!!!
Place: Garland Comments: My family and I wish to thank all of our dear friends for your thought and prayers that were given in the loss of our mother. Your caring has been a blessing for us. As I have always said "SOC Friends are the best friends". thank you again and God bless.
Place: Conroe Comments: KMD, First, what are you doing up at 2:00 A.M.? I have a meeting with Jerry Tillery this morning at 9:30 so I'm cramming for his exam. Sounds like you are on top of your dads' needs. I hope all goes well for him and you during this transition. Don, Maybe one of the Green Bay "4- point" girls will be your rehab specialist. Good luck and (I can't believe I'm saying this) listen to KMD and don't do too much too soon. Happy anniversary to SNL and Don and Happy birthday to JD.
Place: Sachse Comments: Hey Don L., it sounds like you are pushing it a little too hard and fast when you start climbing stairs BEFORE you have begun P.T. Take it easy there partner and remember it takes us a little longer to recupe than when we were, shall we say, a bit younger. Wise move to save some pain pills for when the therapist gets a hold on you. My Dad will be released from rehab next month and we (my sister, brother, Dad and I) have a meeting set for Wednesday afternoon with medical and administrative personal at Christian Care Center where he has lived independently up until his illness/injury a few weeks ago. While my Dad has recovered from all infections, we now know that his knee will not get better, leaving him unable to walk or place any weight on it. We will be discussing whether he is eligible to move to the assisted living facility there (considering his new disability) or if it must be in the rest home facilities. I know many of us have been through this with aging parents and it's not fun. Dad is keeping a pretty good outlook throughout it all and I just hope the transition will be as painless as possible.
Place: LV, TX Comments: Karen MD - How's your dad doing? Hope his recovery is continuing well.
Place: LV, TX Comments: Happy Jack - I'm recuperating slowly, but decided to resume the 40 mi. commute to the office this week. Half way there, my back was screaming to get out of the truck. Once I was there, the right leg didn't want to cooperate while walking up 2 flights of stairs. The 'sciatica snake' still lives for now. I start PT this coming Fri. morning, so I'm saving back a few hydrocodone for all the new pains that those 'torture techs' are sure to inflict. ![]()
Place: Garland-Under a Rock Comments: I guess I didn't realize how long it has been since I checked in on the GB. First of all, happy belated birthday Jedi Bob. Hope you had a "safe" birthday! Don and Barbara, we are very sorry for your loss but know that the fond memories will live on forever. Happy belated anniversary to the Richardson lovebirds! Happy belated birthday "you old Cheesehead"!! Congratulations grandparents on your upcoming arrivals! Grandones are a wonderful gift. I am so lucky to be with mine three days each week and, while I never tire of seeing and interacting with them, I am so tired at the end of each of those three days - thus the reason for my tardiness in catching up on the GB. Happy belated Valentine's Day to all. Hope you were able to spend some quality time with your "honey".
Place: coppell Comments: Oops. Happy anniversary to Don and Sandy.
Place: coppell Comments: Happy belated birthday to Don Sandy and JD. Hope you had a fun one. Don and Barb. So sorry for your loss. I know how hard it is to lose a parent. Thankfull for the memories of my dad. Sarah and I are praying for you and your family.
Place: FW Comments: Happy belated anniversary, Don and Sandy. JD, hope your birthday was great!
Place: coppell Comments: I agree Sandy. Lisbon has been our community. I told Sarah several years ago when I die I want my ashes spread along the third base at Lisbon's baseball diamond. I think we Lisbonites need to picket!!!
Place: Allen, TX Comments: Don and Barb, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I know the passing of our parents and other family members is never easy. I am the only one in my family still living. So, I definitely know how it feels, as do so many others in our class. I don't have to tell you two great people that you have your SOC family to lean on. We are praying for all of you. Ronney
