Place: LV, TX Comments: Jim - Ironic you should ask, because the answer is a fed shutdown & employee furlough could be both a curse & a blessing for us. The curse part is obvious, since we have no idea how long a furlough may last or any guarantee of being reimbursed for lost pay if/when the budget is approved. The blessing, however, came with precision timing. We received an e-mail from DC today reminding us that next week is National Volunteer Week. So, if the furlough happens, we'll have plenty of unpaid time-off to volunteer our services elsewhere. Say what? Better hold me back from a deal like that - I can hardly restrain myself! It's such fun being a political pawn.

Rod – Sure hope Linda spoiled you on your big day with lots of guy gifts, fine food & curb service. Well, we hope she at least allowed you treat her to your celebration dinner & left a nice tip. Best wishes for many more & hope you’ll drop down for the 45th – you’re well past due for a Big D visit!

Place: 66erville Comments: SNL, you're such a pickey eater. You should be able to find something you like closer than that. I'll bet John Soutworth has a tingle running up his leg as he makes travel plans and hunting for tickets to see all of MMM's shows. Butterfingers, Sam is ALWAYS welcome to sit with me. Stories of my pars wouldn't take long though, as there still haven't been that many. And to think you said with my ability to sling stuff, I could master this game in a few months!
Place: Sunny Richardson Comments: While I was in Old Dwntwn Waxahachie at lunch yesterday, saw a sign on the small theater saying "Michael Martin Murphy" was going to be performing there this weekend! No particular reason I told ya'll this, except to give JS time to make his trip plans to Waxahachie!

Place: Garland Comments: Sam - I am so sorry to hear of your loss .... I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers... I truly wish I could be there but I am leaving in the morning and will have knee surgery on Friday at 10. Just know that I will add you to my prayer list at church before I leave.
