Since we've all been talking about the Ch 8 piece on Butch Arnold & his wife, Delores Schmeltekopf Arnold, thought you'd also like this article from D Magazine.  It's about Chris Arnold, the son of Butch & his first wife, Karen Dollar SOC '63.  Chris is an artist here in Dls & you might be surprised by what he's painted.

Ck out the D Mmagazine article from about a yr ago. Lynell Garrett Smith frm '63 posted it on their GB.  Thanks Lynell.

I'm sorry to hear you're going to have to have that darn knee replaced Shortcake.  If it's 8-26, I'm guessing you won't be dancing w/me to Danny & the Jrs At The Hop this time around?   Take care & let us know how you're doing.

Actually SNL - I will be having knee replacement on my left knee on 26 August....the scope did not do what the Dr. hoped.

We took Chase to A&M last week to see the campus - he is planning on going there.  My Nieces' uncle (on the other side of the family) is an architect (he did Cowboy stadium and American Airlines) and he is kind of advising him so we were gone for a couple of days.  Anyway - we are back now.

Bite your tongue, Susan!! But, yes IF he became President Perry, Jay would likely be up there somewhere unless he runs for governor. Our saving grace maybe that the nation will not elect someone from Texas (and an Aggie at that) for a while.

Good questions Susan.  I'd say Yes to the first.  Maybe not that position, but Smokey would be there somewhere for sure.  He & Perry are way too close for him not to be there!

Shortcake - how the heck are you doing?  Is your surgically repaired knee starting to get better?  What about your other knee... surgery???  We haven't heard much from you lately.  Has Bobby been keeping you a prisoner up there & has he taken away your typing rights??

If Rick Perry makes it to the White House, do you think Jay Kimbrough will be his Chief of Staff?  Will Ted Nugent perform at his inauguration?

SNL - if you mean that most of the people will either have had enough to drink or be asleep and therefore will probably be able to handle Jacks performance.....  just saying

King Cole - I mean Jack, you are so right.  We have a very full agenda both Fri & Sat nights!  Perhaps the "After Party" we're having beginning at 12:30 in our private party area might be a good place for Old King Cole.   By then everyone ought to be primed and ready . . .

Ya'll need to get busy & get those cks & registration forms in this month if you want to be eligible for the drawing for a free room for 2-nights!!  Don't  come whinning to me with excuses when we do the drawing & your name isn't in it!!  Don't forget about your badges either!  Send those in with your registration, as that's a separate drawing for $50 cash, courtesy of the badge maker!!

Why thank you, Karen. Few things would give me more pleasure than reviving "Old King Cole" for my SOC classmates. Thus giving you poor unlucky soles who did not go to wonderful Lisbon a chance to see the well rounded education you missed out on. I do foresee a couple of problems with scheduling a presentation at our reunion. Even if I could find (although I'm SURE Mother kept it)my hand-made costume, it being made for a slight child, it could not be adjusted to my current size. Oh, it was a wonderful ensemble,(purple being a royal color) dark purple tights, a lighter shade of purple bloomers, a white shirt with full sleeves, a flowing calf length dark purple cape with light purple lining, a high backed collar, completely trimmed with faux white fur (cotton) and a glorious fitted crown covered with gold foil. Alas, performing out of costume, I'm afraid, it might be hard for some (triple drinking Coasty Don) to give proper respect to the role. I can already hear the heckling from the crude group. You know, the McGee following. Second, having some experience dealing with the reunion committee, I doubt, even with my pull, they would find the necessary time or place for such a staging. But I do deeply thank you for your thoughts and words!

Thanks Toni and SNL. Jack, I never knew what a thespian you were/are. Please treat your classmates to a soliloquy of your previous role in Queen of Hearts at the upcoming reunion. You'll have a captured audience, but please allow us to have at least one drink prior to your performance.

Karen MD, how proud you must be!  Trey stole the show that's for sure!  What confidence he has at such an early age.  Very cute.
