BELATED H a p p y 22nd n r s ay !!! to Robert & Jolae Norman, married in Uvalde, TX, July 7th, 1989.  Robert – We’re assuming you’re still lurking and checking in on us occasionally from your roost up in Colorado.  Has it thawed out up there yet or does winter just sort of reboot thru fall?  We’ve really been thawing out down here for the last month or so, averaging about 100+ degrees  each day.  Congratulations to you both & best wishes for many more!

List of those who have registered for the reunionis now up!  Notice there are some names we haven't seen before at the reunions!  Also heard from David Kyle & he gave me Dewayne Brown's add.  Two more off the missing List.

Got 3 more couples registration today, all postmarked 7-6!  Seems there was a big push on 7-5 & 7-6 to get them in B4 deadline ends.  DL - yours came in tda!!  I will get the form set up & names posted tonight while watching the Rangers.

Wasn't that the most horrible thing that happened last night with the fan falling over the railing!! He was trying to catch the ball that was thrown back up into the stands & he flipped over the rail headfirst & landed on his head 20' below!! He died en route to the hospital.  His 6 yr old son was with him.  I could hardly go to sleep last night thinking about the police contacting his wife to tell her & about the frightened little boy who watched his dad plunge to his death.

Jack - think about it.  Those who retire don't post as much as they did while working!  But your brain is already soft, so I don't think retirement will affect you at all!!

Of course we have sprinklers all around, but there are too many places that don't get enough water during this extreme heat, especially around the edges & the big trees need extra soaking.

I cld Jeanne Smith at lunch & Bill answered!  He sounded good.  The stroke affected his left side & his arm, hand & leg are still very weak.  He went to two PT sessions to learn what to do.  Now the rest will be up to him to do at home as they have no ins.  His speech is very good & he's working on retraining his brain cells that control his left side.

SNL you better go ahead and retire. Your brain MUST have gone soft for you to say that about retirees here. I am surprised they haven't unleashed on you by now. Must be that they are such a nice group of people (and they want to make sure their names get in the drawing)  I think I have your boss's email. I'd be glad to forward that post to him for you...
Hand watering?? You mean Don hasn't put in a sprinkler system yet??

Haven't got it yet Don, but it takes about 2 days from Austin.  I did get 6 others yesterday.  they are starting to come in pretty quickly now.  I promise to get a "Who's attending" list up soon.

Truth is  . ..  this continued 100* + heat has warn me out!  We're doing hand watering early morning & late evening to keep the flowers & new grass alive & by the time supper is over, I'm wilted!  I will get it posted soon so everyone can see who's coming!

I dont' know that our brains get any 'softer', but I plan to continue working for a while to keep mine busy & challenged - don't need the CRS factor to get any worse than it is already!

Plus, like Sam said, a guy needs a job away from home to get a rest from all the honey-do's.

Speaking of registration, was mine postmarked by the 'early bird' deadline (assuming you rcvd it)?

I recvd JD's registration & ID in early June.  I sent him Em thanking him for sending early & w/ID.  About 3 wks later I got Em from him asking if I got his registration?  I think retirement seems to make people disappear from the GB & their brains go soft.

I'm not retiring . . .  ever!  I'm just going to call my boss & tell him I quit!  Will give him 30 days to make arrangements if he wants.  If not, I'm outta here!

I'm gonna call JD this weekend to make sure he didn't go off the deep end with his dust mop - I'll let y'all know, if he doesn't do so first.

Ada - We're all praying for something simple & easily treatable, as well as a quick recovery.  I've forwarded your note to Doug & I'm sure he's onboard with us as well.

Wait Hawkins - you forgot my name - you said cubby would be welcome!!!  I am sure it was just an oversight!

Said a prayer for you Ada.  Just remember I have had cancer several times and beat it.  Dr.s are great about staying on top of everything.

I am so happy tonight. My daughter, Katie, has been having chest pains, dizzy spells, and feeling quite faint. The doctor said something was wrong with her heart. Today, she went to the cardiologist for a stress test. He said her heart is fine. She is having a little tachycardia, which can be treated with medication. Needless to say, we are all giving sighs of relief for my baby girl. God is good.

Praying for you, my sweet Ada Ann.
