Place: Richardson Comments: Rick - Thanks for posting! Always nice to her from those with personal connections to SOC. We'll be celebrating our 45th Reunion at the end of Sept, you are more than welcome to join us if you'd like to!
Place: usa Comments: Hi folks. I was just googling my deceased brother Bill and ran across this site. Read the thread speaking of Butch Arnold becoming band director after my dad was reassigned to Adamson. My sister Sharon followed him there. SOC was always my favorite, especially the band, majorettes, and Golden Debs. I still have fond memories of sitting with my mom and the band at all the ball games and all the trips we took together. Here's to you all ,Rick Beckhart
Place: coppell Comments: Wait a minute SNL. I'm savoring the moment. So I beat Smiley with my deposit? Finally bested him after 45 years. Ha! S'matter Dale? Losing your touch? You do know we have a reunion coming up. Quick Yvonne wake him up and wipe the drool off his cheek.
Place: Carthage, TX Comments: Jack, Have you ever thought your hearing might be slurred ??
Place: Garland USA Comments: Thanks, SNL and KMD! Don't you just love grandones? They are so special! SNL, I would love it if that were my house but that would be my son's house, and unfortunately, I am no longer the "sitter" as my daughter-in-law's job was phased out. I am currently in "sitter withdrawal". Happy, personally I think "white" is my color especially when there are water guns and you and Bruce on the same team! I'll have to think about that one.
Place: Richardson Comments: Jack what a profound & well-thought-out plan! I like it!! Toni - Those two boys are handsome, must take after their handsome dad! I know how hard it is to earn a spot in the play-offs in Cooperstown, so congrats to the team!! It wil be a memoriable experience for him & the whole family!
Place: work Comments: Glad to hear the good news on Bill. Ask Jeanne if she can get a twofer deal on the speech therapy. Sandy Joe McGee, AKA The Pool Pro or Golf Guy has been slurring his words since his first golf game after his second knee replacement. It started when he shanked his tee shot on a par three. He claims slurring is a by-product of the knee replacement(the shank shot too). Shortcake, that maybe something you want to ask your doctor. Did you tell me he was a A&M vet school grad?? Coasty Don, how's the back?? Still relying on meds?? This setting up a house is almost as bad as moving. Soon as we get the boxes emptied or at least out of sight, we plan on having everybody over for hot dogs. I'll need to borrow a grill. If it's not gas I'll need charcoal too. Then there is the dogs and buns and all the stuff that goes with it. Since this group has such various taste in drinks, it will have to be BYOB. I'm sure SOMEBODY will bring some Gentleman Jack for the host. Shoot, lets have it at Gordy's house on the 4th of July. Instead of hot dogs we'll have brisket. Bring a side dish and come on. Eat at 5:00 so show up before then so I can have a bite of your dish with my meal. Toni, don't wear white!!
Place: Sachse Comments: Thrilled to hear the encouraging news about Bill. Lucky for him he has a great girl in Jeanne and I know she is taking good care of him. Praise God.
Place: Sachse Comments: Toni, you have some adorable grandones. I know you are proud of Brayden and his team's accomplishments. Really hope they show 'em up in Cooperstown. And Hudson is really growing and getting cuter by the day.
Place: Richardson Comments: Was able to get the new G-ones posted tonight. Take a look at two cuties! Talked to Gordy - He's having his annual 4th of July Party at his house on Monday & the SOC Gang is invited! He provides the smoked brisket, beans & the paper plates & utensils. Bring a dish & join us on the 4th! Dinner is served at 5:00pm, so bring a dish & come a little early! See you there!!!!
Place: Richardson Comments: Just t/w Charles. They ran add'l test tda & found no problems. Seems it was only the small blood clots at the base of his skull breaking loose that caused the strokes & add'l small stokes. He's doing good & both he & Jeanne are in good spirits. He doesn't have any major paralysis, but speech a little slurred. Will start PT soon. Jeanne is staying at the hospital & isn't at home.
Place: Lost Comments: Happy Anniversary Bob and Eva!! There HAS to be some deep meaning to Sandy Joe and Richard having the same birthday. You're right Toni, they SHOULD go on the road. In the great tradition of the Hope and Crosby movies, "The Road to ....." Prayers continue for Bill and Jeanne
Place: Richardson Comments: I wil definitely pass on the prayers & good wishes from the grp as I'll probbly t/w Charles agn tonight. I don't won't to call Jeanne as I know she spends most of her time at the hospital with Bill. She calls Charles ea evening to update him. I was going to post Toni's cute G-sons last night, but the ISP was acting up & still so s-l-o-w at lunch tda!! As soon as it works faster I'll put 'em up. You'll just have to keep looking at the Triplets for now! ![]()
Place: Garland Comments: SNL, if you talk to Charles or Jeanne, please let them know we are thinking of them and hoping for the best for Bill.
Place: Richardson Comments: Update on Bill Smith - t/w Charles several times this wkend & as of yesterday (Sun) Bill is doing better! The stroke was Thur & he kept having mini strokes at the hospital. They've done at least 4 MRI's on him & can't find out "why" the strokes. They're doing a special test tda to look behind his heart as they think there's something there that may be causing them. Praying for Bill's speedy recovery & strength for both Bill & Jeanne as they work thru this. |
