Place: 66erville Comments: Happy Birthday, Charlotte, Charles and Betty!! And many more! Sorry to hear about your AC, SNL. Hope you haven't melted. Maybe you should have asked the A/C guy what qualified for elderly. There doesn't seem to be a universal decision for what age "senior" starts. It is such fun to go to a place that has a "Senior" discount. You have to ask who qualifies. And the answer varies from 50 to 70.
Place: Richardson Comments: Thank you Tanya. I had no idea Sue's older brother passed away since I'm not on FB much. We appreciate the info!
Place: SOC 65 Comments: Sandy and class, I read on facebook today that Sue Ash's brother Bill Ash class of 59 passed away this morning. He was once married to Sandra White Darrow, who posted it on FB, they had two great kids together and both kids were by his side at his passing. Thought your class might like to know about this since Sue, his sister is in your class.
Place: Coppell Comments: Happy birthday to Charlotte, Charles and Betty. Hope you all have a fun day. SNL, stay cool and jump in the pool. Don, sorry you are having back pain. I have lived with it since I was 26. Keep the faith and keep pushing on. Don't ever give in to it. Ada and Shortcake, you are on my prayer list every night. Adding Don as well. The list is growing, but God's healing hand will prevail. Love all my SOC family.
Place: Richardson Comments: Don I'm sorry to hear you're having to go under the knife again for your back!! We may have to get a Medavac to fly you here for the reunion!
Place: LV, TX Comments: SNL - That's happened to us twice - both times during August, of course. We grabbed the pets & headed for the La Quinta (the only place that would accept pets, at the time) til the repairman called & said he was finished. It still took most of the day & night to cool the place down to normal again. We have a replacement unit now & the guy is coming out Fri. for an annual service check-up - just in case. Hope you get some relief soon! ![]()
Place: LV, TX Comments: Slow weekend for news, I guess - 20 hrs passed and I've made the only 2 posts - ? I guess y'all are suffering from heat exhaustion from working out in the yard, washing cars & playing golf. Try taking your coats off next time! Looks like I'm going under the knife again for my back. I've had ongoing sciatic nerve pain in my right hip since the Discectomy this past Jan. & 4 mos. of PT haven't broken it down. A Lipoma (fatty deposit) has formed right on top of the nerve and may be the culprit causing pressure & inflammation. So, out it comes, sometime during the week of 9/22, about 2 weeks from now. This is a helluva way to lose weight - one chunk at a time! ![]()
Place: Richardson Comments: Apparently overnight our air conditioner quit putting out cold air! Woke up at 4:00am HOT! Fan just blowing hot air! Don cld guy we've used for several yrs but he is so booked he can't come out until Tue!! Bummer!!!!! But there is a funny part to this. Guy told Don, "Don I am booked solid, but if ya'll were an "elderly couple" I wd come out tda & put you in fromt of others". Geeeezzz. in today's society I thought 66 & 63 was considered elderly!!!! I have to leave early Tue for trip to Hstn, so getting dressed & looking nice ought to be a real challenge.
Place: LV, TX Comments: H a p p y B i r t h d a y wishes go out to Charlotte (Hilburn) Walker, Charles Hilburn & Betty (McKee) Wollenberg, today! Folks – If you’re lurking out there, we hope this finds you all doing well & enjoying life another year older. Best wishes now & for many more to come!
Place: LV, TX Comments: Sam - I truly admire your openness & will see what Kathy thinks of your approach to conservation through personal sacrifice. But, please be careful about sharing our guy stuff on an open forum, because you know how the ladies will talk & their network is incredibly effective in spreading the word. That could result in pre-emptive strikes before we ever get in the starting blocks. However, I can't think of anyone else I'd like to help save energy & conserve water with! ![]()
Place: Garland USA Comments: Sandy, thanks for the update on Ada. I wish she wasn't so far away from all of us! Bob, we will be sending prayers for Sarah and your entire family. Sammy, keep on keeping on!
Place: LV, TX Comments: Those docs should've nicked Ada's feet, because 'Kicka** Henrie' doesn't need her trachea to stick 'em where the sun don't shine! Glad to hear she's expected home tomorrow & continuing prayers for good news & an uneventful recovery. ![]()
Place: Texas Comments: SNL - thanks for the update on Ada. She has been in my thoughts and prayers. Karen RL - don't rub it in while we are roasting here. We'll be excited when the temp goes to 95.
Place: Richardson Comments: I s/w Joe ( Ada Ann's hsbd) and what was supposed to be a minor day surgery to remove more tissue from lymph nodes turned into complications. While removing part of lymph node they accidentally nicked her trachea! Had to do add'l surgery to repair it. They kept her in hospital & Joe expects them to release her Sunday. She's doing good but disappointed with all the add'l time she's having to spend in hospital.
Place: Santa Fe, NM Comments: Hi everyone - we are in Santa Fe, and heading for Colorado this morning - it is 61 degrees here this morning....I need to get a blanket out - brrrrrrr! Guess we will have to turn the heat on when we get to Colorado!!! I will post pics of us sitting around the camp fire on facebook!!! I know that will help with all of the 110 degrees in Dallas. See ya later. |
