Thanks, Shortcake.  I wasn't really bragging about the name, but alerting the other DONs that weather-realted jokes would probably be heading their way, like the one I got.

Unlike the other DONs we know, we're disappointed that this Tropical Storm (T/S) turned out to be "a flog, a dud and useless for this area!".  It didn't bring us any of the good rain we were all hoping for & need so badly.

Also, Don's successor, T/S Emily is headed for Haiti, so no help there - maybe next time.

Last night while eating dinner Don looked at me & said, "Do you mind if I clean the house, wash the clothes, buy groceries & cook dinner this weekend?"  I replied, " Only if you let me lay on the couch for hours on end with remote in hand & switch back & forth between SYFI & FX channels."  He replied, "Done!"

Must be that AT&T U-Verse we got?

A heads-up to all the other DONs out there - the e-mail weather zingers have begun. 

I rcvd one from my former boss down at Surfside, TX, asking me for: "... just a good decent rain, but please hold down the wind."  I thought he was drunk & accidentally e-mailed me instead of someone else. 

Then, it hit me (duh) - T/S "Don" is heading for the TX coast w/Corpus dead in its sights.  In fact, our eldest son, Greg, now lives there, so we're awaiting word on whether we'll be having refugee company sometime soon.

Hope he brings some rain with him to cool this hell-hole down!.

Sandy, I read somewhere that he was a SOC grad. The website imdb states he was a 1958 grad and he was born in 1940. I always liked him in Rockford Files w/ James Garner.

Sandra, I remember Jimmy!  Sorry to hear that.  I've seen more names this last week of people I went to school with at John Neely Bryan on Facebook.  Janie Jones Gann has a great memory except I thought Shortcake and I should have been in a 4th grade class picture that Mary Elliott posted.  It was great to see all the old pictures.  I ran across some of my mother's PTA books  a couple of weeks ago and I must have spent an hour reading through them!  What memories complete with addresses and phone numbers!

Sorry to hear about Jimmy Lemmon. Whatever happened to Jean Cadenhead who he was married to briefly? I know they had a son.
