Place: Mini Date & location Confirmed Comments: OK, we're all set, all we need is for YOU to attend! Here's the important info about the Mini: Date: Saturday, May 21, 2022 Time: 2:00 to 6:00pm Place: Hilton Hotel in the NE corner of Campbell Rd. & Hwy 75 in Richardson. This is same place we had our last Mini and so many others but, it changed from a Hyatt to a Hilton. Location: Bar area. You now need to come in at the main lobby area where the registration desk is and just look left. You can't miss it! Hilton totally remodeled the bar and it's now a warm and spacious area with lots of tables, chairs and couches. New beautiful bar too. I think you'll like it! We have 42 people who plan to attend, I think that number will grow as we get closer to the date. Be sure to tell your SOC '66 friends, especially those not connected to Social Media. This info is also posted on our Events page.
Place: Richardson Comments: I called and spoke with Jack Sanders late yesterday. He recovered after that gravel truck ran the red light and T-boned him. It was a rough few years trying to recover and unfortunately it caused him memory loss. But I learned yesterday that after he was about recovered he was diagnosed with throat cancer! Jack never smoked! He told me he went thru 8 weeks of radiation and 8 weeks of chemo but is now in remission. His memory still fails him in mid-sentence and he has a hard time with names. I told him not to worry . . . we all have some of the same issues and we're all friends. Just come to the Mini and you can just listen, you don't have to worry about trying to remember, Dagley can remember for all of us! He said yes, he would like to come and see everyone.
Place: Richardson Comments: It was great to get your email Louis! I answered to Louis and for everyone else, at this time I don't have a confirmed location . . . yet! Hope to cinch it up by Monday. Will post here and on Event page as soon as I get it. We now have 41 people planning to attend!!

Place: Next Mini is May 21. Comments: I agree Randall, hope everyone will attend the Mini. It's off to a great start but there are several people I have to personally call as they are "off-the-grid" so to speak. Over the next few weeks I think we will have a lot more planning to come. Of course it helps that all of y'all also contact people you've stayed in touch with and tell them about the Mini. It's going to be a great turn-out as we've waited so long!!

Place: More classmtes coming to Mini! Comments: Some good news regarding the Mini. Carol C. just spoke with another classmate, Cynthia Franklin Tapscot, and she and her sister (Kay Franklin from '65) plan to attend our mini. I haven't seen Cynthia in . . . well, never since we graduated! Including Cynthia & Kay, we now have 38 who say they plan to attend!
Place: Another Classmates has passed Comments: Jack H. received notification from Kay Newell Daugherty''s husband that she passed away July 29, 2021. Her full name was Cynthia Kay Newell and she went by Cynthia during Lisbon and Zumwalt. Not sure about name at SOC because we lost touch but she did graduate with us in '66.
Place: More say "YES" to the Mini Comments: More good news! Talked to Charles late yesterday and he and Gary will be at the Mini. Also Vernon & JoAnn Moreland. Charles is in contact with several other people not on FB or GB and he will also invite them. Our list is growing quickly, hope you are one of them! If not, come join us, it will be so good to see everyone after such a long hiatus. May 21, 2022!!!

Place: May 21 is Next Mini Comments: It's so good to hear from so many that plan to attend the May 21, 2022 Mini. Just got call from Ronnie Bush! He & Nell plan to attend. Also, he ran into Jerry Munn in Austin area and Jack Sanders at a gun show, all in the last few weeks. He gave me their numbers and I will contact them about the mini. I asked about Jack & how he was doing. Ronnie said Jack was by himself and looked good. Jack told him this year he is able to get out and his memory has improved. That is so good to hear after what all he went thru for so many years after that awful crash. The list is growing, mark your calendar and make plans to attend the 5-21-22 Mini!!!!!! |
