Place: KS Comments: Watching the Cotton Bowl game - Go Cats! Why is the game NOT being played in the actual COTTON BOWL? Has it fallen into disrepair - or does Jerry Jones just need the revenue to pay for his stadium? Just doesn't seem right. I continue to remember all who are ill or in pain. Belated Happy Birthday wishes to Toni. ...and Sandy - you know that Jack and all the rest of us love your posts. ...and where IS Richard Nance? Love to all. Carol
Place: Laveen, Arizona Comments: Coasty Don/ Hawkins - We almost lost my brother Duane on Tuesday. He had what is known as Aortic, Abdominal Aneurysm, or Triple A. The surgeon said all of his lucky stars were in alignment. Ninety percent of people with this issue never make it to the hospital, and those that just make it to the hospital have a 60%-90% mortality rate. He went to work with severe back pain. Later his co-workers called the ambulance and took him to Baylor in Grapevine. There happened to be a surgeon on duty that knew what to do and they had an OR available. He was sitting up yesterday and did a little walking today, so it kinda looks like the worst is over. I'm gong down on Tuesday to see if I can help him along. You all stay safe and go to the doctor.
Place: WORKING! Comments: No Rick, my response to Shortcake had NOTHING to do with her kicking me. She can't stand on her "boot" foot and kick me as it would hurt too much and she can't stand on her "good" foot and kick me with her "boot" foot as it would hurt it too much. And NO, I'm not old enough to retire. Don't think I ever will retire, I like eating too much. I've always worked for "small" companies and the only one with a retirement plan was an ESOP (employee owned and based on the value of the company) When things got bad for rep companies in the 90's, the guy ruining the company fired all the employees and continued to pay himself (well) while he "closed the company". When he was finished we got about a 10th of what we were owed. We filed a complaint with the Feds. They said it wasn't enough money for them to become involved. SNL, you know I don't think you are annoying. Everyone has an opinion, but I don't think you are annoying. I was just pointing out a trend. You know I think you are "Special"!

Place: bigD Comments: Jack, are you saying that shortcake's response would be to KICK you ? Jack, when will you retire, you're old enough, arn't you. Cathy Nickols, how is life in Paradise, speaking of retirement, when will you and Fred retire. SNL, don't listen to Jack, keep posting every day if you want to. you're like the Den mother for this group. Jack is like the cub that is always getting into trouble.

Foot in a boot, Shortcake? There is are several jokes available from that, but like the missing R. Nance says, I'll just leave those alone for now. It would be too hard on you to try and respond in your condition. Sam, you rested up yet? Anybody else noticed; JD retired and we almost never hear from him. Toni retired and we almost never hear from her. SNL retired...
Place: Garland USA Comments: Just wanted to comment about the pride and joy page! I think this is the cutest bunch of grandones I have ever seen! How precious they all are.
Thanks for all the birthday wishes. I had a wonderful birthday dinner with my son and his family. My neighbor is enjoying the flowers sent to me by Bruce as I was not home when they were delivered.
My New Year's wish for those battling illnesses - keep the faith and continue the fight...
Place: Cypress springs Comments: Well I now have my foot in a boot. The dr. said it probably should have been done right after surgery or at least when they found the stress fracture. Hopefully this will solve the problem. Sorry you were sick on New Years KMD, but not to worry, we celebrated for you!

Place: Sachse Comments: Happy Birthday Toni! Hope your day is special. Really enjoyed the grandone photos of Sammy's bunch and Jerry's bunch, grandones and family. Thanks for sharing. Since hubby Mike was sick on New Years Eve a year ago, I was sick for this one. Went to bed by 11 pm.  Maybe next year we can both be well and stay up until midnight to ring in the new year.  Praying for all our classmates with health issues to find healing in 2012. Hang tough you guys and girls.

Place: Richardson Comments: Rick - the Great Wolf is on our list too, but it was too much to crowd into our Christmas vacation. We took the kids out there at Thanksgiving just to check it out & they can't wait to go there the next time we have them for a week. Yes, the site seems plain now. But I'll decorate for Valentine's & then St Patrick's Day & so on. But thanks for noticing the changes!  A very Happy Birthday to Toni Rogers Jones!!! As the 2nd youngest in the class . . . are you only turning 62 tda?  Hope you enjoy your day & Bruce treats you extra special because you are special!
Place: bigd Comments: Just checking in. Did everyone make it through the holidays OK. I need to go check the scale I might have gained a LITTLE weight. We went to the Great Woolf lodge, took all the Gkids and family, Their water park is the best I've seen, not that I go to a lot of water parks but it was fun. Where is the low tech guy, haven't herd from him lately. I hope JD is off house arrest by now. Prayers go out to those mentioned on the guestbook who are ill and to Ron, we are sorry to hear about your wife.

Place: Richardson Comments: I changed the Grandones on the P&J pg. An even swap of 5 for 5! Sammy's cuties have changed to Jerry's cuties!! Yall take a look. Hope everyone had a safe & good New Year's Eve. We had planned to go out, but when the G-kids didn't leave until about 12:30 pm . . . we were too tired! Rented 2 movies & crashed on the couch!! Beautiful weather, hope everyone is enjoying it. All our decorations & both trees are down & put away. We finished it up yesterday. Now I'm working on washing all the linens & towels from all the beds & baths. HAPPY NEW YEAR & May those fighting cancer & other illnesses know you are on my prayer list. May God bless & keep you. |
Jack, surely you aren't insinuating I'm annoying... are you?
Hopefully the boot will help you heal & you'll begin to see improvement within a month.
