Great Story, Rick. I think there maybe a lot of us that would like to have a magic ring like that. If you can't get the ring back, I hope you at least get what you paid for it.
Heard a story this morning about some guy going overboard from a cruise ship out of Galveston.  Hope it wasn't Bobby!
Hope Charles and everyone else is feeling better.

Sending out some extra prayers, SNL, for Stephanie's mom, Janie & Steve Gann, and Charles Moss.

I sure hope the initial report on Charles is something other than pancreatitis (inflamed pancreas):

" ... acute pancreatitis — a potentially deadly disease in which the pancreas essentially digests itself —"

Many thanks to all who sent prayers, kind words & expressed concern for my brother Doug.  After discovering a relapse of cancer, he resumed chemo with some newer drugs.  His most recent lab & scan results were mixed.  The 2 original spots detected were no longer present, but 2 new ones appeared.  He's decided to continue treatments, for a while at least, so long as results show some improvement.  More to follow.

BTW, SNL & Don/Barb - Checks going out tomorrow for website & BMF support.

I will be packing up this evening & driving to Austin early in the mrng.  Will be taking care of the triplets, 2 yr old Brooklyn & an old dog!  Will be there thru Sat.  Stephanie's mom has stabilized a little, but her heart still isn't working good enough to handle it.  She has an external pacemaker attached and a heart pump inside her heart doing most of the work.  Can only expect heart pump arrangement to work temporarily.  Drs say max of 18-19 days tops.  Tda is day 12.  We're praying her heart & other organs will kick-in any day now.  It's just a waiting game & the Drs don't really have any other options.  Thanks you for the prayers you've sent & please, could you keep praying, as Diane Sutton needs all the help she can get to make it thru this.  I can't begin to describe how critical Diane is & how distraught Stephanie is.  Being at the hospital 5-6 hrs a day is wearing on me too.

Please remember all our classmates as well who are ill, going thru treatments and/or struggling to recover!!  I will try to ck-in on the GB late at night if I can.  Ya'll be good & 'll catch you later.

Jack Hawkins, you are SO right about Janie Jones Gann. She is an angel in her devotion to Steve. She recently told me that she loves Steve more today than she did when they got married. And, she added that she never thought that would be possible.

Janie is a testimony to all of us about being dedicated to our loved ones, no matter what the circumstances.

God bless you Janie. Always remember how much your fellow SOCites love you and Steve. Steve was always so nice to me in school. And, I have not forgotten his kindness.

I purchased a Gold plated Army ring at an estate sale and it looks like a senior class ring. The markings on it said Korean War 1950/53.  45th  Infantry.

A friend at work saw it on my finger and after a couple weeks, managed to talk me out of it.  Eugene said his 85 year old uncle was in the Korean War and he wanted to show it to him. A couple of weeks later Eugene said his uncle put it on his finger and now Eugene can’t get it back. The ring has given Uncle a new reason to live. He doesn’t sit around the house doing nothing any more. He has started going back to the VFW post again, showing off the ring. He has asked a lady he knows for a date, she is 55 and he said the ring gave him the courage to ask her out. He feels alive and wants do things now. He talks about the olden days when he was young. I think the old ladies in Rosebud , Texas

better watch out. If the ring has mystical powers like that, I think I want it back.

We really missed all of you guys Saturday night also    I spent most of it with my leg up letting Bobby and Chase wait on me.

Bobby has been working on the kitchen and it really looks fantastic....now we just need to get a new refrigerator.

We are leaving on Saturday for Galveston and Sunday on our cruise   It is actually going to be great to not have to go to a hospital or nursing home for a few days.  Although I really do wish that my foot was totally well before we went   Oh well, I will still have fun and eat too much!!!!!

See ya later

Had a GREAT time at the BMF Project dinner at Primo's. Thanks to the BMF Project ALL the lakes in north Texas now have sonar units available and personal well trained in their use. Great party and great need met. It is always good to get together with SOCites and spouses, family and friends. Entertainment was really good, even if they didn't sing any Willie. Bonus was finding another good Tex-Mex joint. The food was very good and the beer was COLD.

Donnie & Barb - Thanks for a wonderful night at Primo's!!  The food was good & so was the entertainment.  They both had very good voices!  Really enjoyed being with friends & lots of talk & laughter at our table.  Ya'll being able to give out two more Sonar Systems was priceless . . .  ya'll do good work.

Diane, Stephanie's mom, is about the same but 2 more "concerns" have arisen.  Wish I had better news, but she is holding her own & is still here . . .  we keep praying for some miracles.  Thank you for your prayers & concern!

Shortcake, you and Bobby were missed last night. Thanks to all that attended last night. We had planned for about 50-60 and over 100 people attended last night, good food and great entertainment. Presentation of our 7th and 8th sonar units to the Dallas Fire Dept. and Texas Game Wardens.  Trey Williams and Kimberly Reann provided us with some great music. It was a great start to our 3rd year of The BMF Project.
