Place: Frisco Comments: The doubletree was not bad..... Sulphur springs would be great...your sarcasm was duly noted!
Place: LV, TX Comments: SNL - Has anyone considered or suggested holding one further south for a change? I mean a lot further south than SOC.
Here's a couple you're probably familiar with:
Place: Richardson Comments: KRL - It's not at the Omni! It's at the Double Tree where we had the reunion! How far east wd you like us to make it? Fair Park, E. Grand area, Greenville or Sulphur Springs? Let me know where your preference is. Hope eveyone remembered to set the darn clocks Forward one hr! I hate DST! Just what we all need this summer . . . another hour of hot daylight.
Place: Frisco Comments: Hey....aren't there any hotels or any places closer to this side of town that will accommodate our group? I really love seeing everyone and I do like the Omni but for those of us that live in E. Tx or even on the other side of town it would be fun if we could get it closer to at least a halfway point. Please do not get upset.....I am just asking!
Place: Richardson Comments: KMD & all the others who had kind words & prayers for Stephanie's mom, Thank you! Her services will be this Thurs. Steph & the kids will be up tmo & be here all wk bec, as the SOC kids wd say, it's "Springbrake!" ![]() We've all had a lot of illness, as well as loss of friends & family. I think it's about time we set aside some time for ourselves to laugh, talk & rejuvenate our cores! I'll ck with the Double Tree & see what dates we can invade their bar area. Maybe 3-24 or 4-14 or 4-21?? Easter Sunday is 4-8. Anyone else ready to Get-Together and enjoy some friendly faces?? Doc Mitchell - There's a good article about Bugs Henderson in today's DMN Metro section. The music world lost a good one, especially us in TX!
Place: Frisco Comments: For all of you that did not see channel 8 news this morning ....SOC was announcing that the kids were out of school this week on the board outside ...they put "Springbrake" on it. They said it was quickly corrected, but not before someone took a picture...slow news day!
Place: Sachse Comments: Love the new pics of grandones on the Pride and Joy page. Congratulations to Grandpa Jack and Grandma Glynda. Emerson is a real cutie. Ronney, little Lila is growing like a weed and so adorable too. Sorry to hear of the recent losses, including our classmate Lowell and also SNL's stepdaughter Stephanie's mom Diane. SNL, you were a real trooper to help out like you did so Stephanie could be there for her mom in her last days. Good for you. I also lost my aunt this week. Very sweet and funny lady who will be missed very much. Shortcake, sorry your foot has been so slow to heal. Hope relief comes very soon. I hope that all our classmates going through illnesses and treatment will have excellent outcomes and return to full health quickly.

Place: Southlake Comments: RIP Bugs Henderson. Dead at 69. Your music not forgotten.
Place: BigD Comments: Hay Robert, Be careful fishing, those wheels don't roll well in the dirt at the fishing hole. The boss, I mean wife and I are planning a trip to Colorado in a couple of months. We have wanted to go for several years but New York, Canada, New Mexico, Arazona, Washington, Oregon and Califonia all got in the way. This year I'm determined to go to Colorado.
Place: Colorado Comments: Howdy Bears. I know I don't drop much but that does not mean that I have forgotten any of you. I have a new hobby, I am learning how to tie different kind of knots. The hardest one is called the "Monkey's Fist". Put that in a search engine and see what you come up with. Next news. I kept falling down so much that Obama bought me a new Scooter chair. Now I have to make room to get around. It has an eight mile traveling distance and the nearest fishing hole is only two tenths of a mile away, So take a wild guess who is going fishing this summer. LOL To stay out of trouble I bought a new pair of walkie talkies, with a range of sixteen miles. That way the wife does not have to go, just listen. I will be honest with all of you. I do not have any friends up here as of yet. My best friend died last year, Reagan Turman, still breaks my heart. Anyway I promise to check back . Love and miss you guys, see you on Face Book.
Place: Garland Comments: hey JD - light two - one for my knee, which is doing a lot better and one for my foot, which isn't. I keep putting off having my other knee done because I wanted to be over the first one.....looks like that is not going to happen. Plus I have to find a new dr, since mine is now on the lung transplant list!!!!!
Glad to hear you are well anyway. Miss your pleasant company!
Place: 66 Wisconsin Comments: Good afternoon Mr. Nance. Hope all is well in the wonnerful...wonnerful world of fruits and nuts...
I must admit that we don't talk as often as we should...but then again...I probably wouldn't understand our conversation very well anyway without pictures...and here I thought you had forgotten that I can't read.
Hope all are well and those that are not...please understand that although I'm not on the GB very often since retirement...I still light a candle at mass for everyone.
Take care.
Place: Arizona Comments: Jack, it's "Coffee with Groucho". Small book, easy to read. Probably not good for JD....no pictures. Most people hear Groucho and they leave the room in a huff...but, then return in about an hour & a huff (Groucho).
Place: Rainy Richardson Comments: Thank you Coasty Don for finding the obit for Lowell Johnson. Unfortunately, this is # 66 for the class of '66. But on a happy note - What cuties those two new Granddaughters are!!! Ck out the Pride & Joy pg.
Place: LV, TX Comments: Lowell's obit says he was a Vietnam vet, so I'll contact Gordy to see if he can obtain military info for our roster - sometime later, of course, after the family has had some time to themselves.
Prayers & condolences to Lowell's family in their time of sorrow. |
