Jack,
Yes, we do live in the sticks but Von and I try to start each day with some refined cultural activity. Today we were reading this snippet from the English bard, Willie Shakespeare:

T'was in the restraunt that they met
Romeo and Julliette
He had no money to pay the debt
So, Rome owed what jullie et.

Don't tell Shortcake but I still think with a little blue paint she would make a darling Smurf.

Dale, you may have to come out of retirement and become a cobbler. While you're at it go to blacksmith school too. Should be a real need for both out there in the sticks!

I could see you as a peppermint patty, but not a stick. Better go with the light. Now the important question; will the light be on or off or flickering??

Not sure which of you should be committed first.
Looks lokr I may have to change my name after the parade...I am either going to be a peppermint stick or a Christmas light this year. Will let you know.

Jack,
Thanks for asking about Yuvonne. It's bad, Jack, really bad. She told me on the way into church tonight that she needs to be re-shoed. Sounds like a trip into Abilene is in our future.

Dale, you said more than a mouth full. Times were tough back then, but we didn't know it. We ate whatever Mama fixed and liked it. Richard, if you are having that trouble riding a horse, feed the horse. I don't know how to feed a hoarse. How's Yuvonne??

Richard,
That's true, but then we would not have cheerleaders today. Legend has it that when Lady Godiva rode side  saddle down the streets, the side she faced shouted "Hooray for our side" and the rest is history.

Hey Smiley, did you ever consider it's much more logical for men to ride horses side-saddle?

Dale, I think you've reached a new comedic low that may set one of those records that stands for years.

Toni,
I never liked corny dogs until I had my first Fletchers at the Fair. My folks bought the cheap ones at Safeway that had a frank half way up the stick and soy meal the rest of the way. I guess back then it was hard to make both ends meat.

Wonderful news Sam!  Congratulations Roe on your new grandones!

Ronney, the State Fair is no longer a mob scene as it once was.  You might actually be surprised!  Back in the 80s and early 90s, Fletchers tried their hand at small kiosks in shopping centers selling their famous corny dogs and other yummy treats.  Unfortunately, they couldn't keep up with the competition of fast food, but it was good while it lasted!
