Someone told me they thought our SOC tennis teacher, Poncho Gonzales had recently passed away.  I have not seen that in the obits, but I don't always catch all of the names.  Has anyone else seen or heard any info to indicate he has passed?  I don't even know his real name???  Mr. ______ Gonzales.  Any one have any knowledge?? TNX!

I've been hitting the Advil twice a day & that seems to help.  I'm doing OK as long as I don't turn my head too quickly. I'm just moving slower than my usual fast pace.  Want to hear the funniest thing?!  With that hard fall & landing first on my butt, then my head . . .  my back is fine!!  No kidding, my back doesn't hurt at all!  Go figure!  It's gone out 3 times in the last 5 yrs from just sitting down, getting up or slightly moving a small hassock!!

And yes, you are right Jack.  If I'd had Gentleman Jack and Johnny Walker in my hands when I fell . . .  well, now that wd have been worth shedding tears over!!

SNL, so sorry to hear about your broken jugs. Thank goodness it wasn't some important bottles, like Gentleman Jack or Johnny Walker!! I know you were "sampling" everyone's drink and hitting the bar hard on your birthday, but still drunk enuff to think you can fly a day later?? Sounds like we need to ban you from anything taller than a bar stool. Definitely no dancing on the bar (with or without swinging your jugs around) Have Don rub Listerine on your bruises. Probably won't help, but he'll enjoy it. I've got some clippers, if we need to clear that hair out of the way for the healing to take place. Since it is probably best not to leave you home alone, do I need to bring over a LARGE bottle of Aleve?

I know Shortcake.  It's just tough realizing I'm not Superwoman any more!!  Don has forbid me to use that step stool until he can make it more sturdy.  He took down the HBD sign & BD ball I hung Sun mrng.  He didn't want me on anything higher than the floor!

Glad all of you made it home yesterday without ending up in the ditch.  We left my brother's house about 30 mins after it began to snow heavily.  Thank goodness for the sun tda!

Gee SNL What are you trying to do - see how high you can bounce?    You really need to be a lot more careful - with all the snow I am not sure I could get from the lake to the hospital - it was really difficult to get from Bobby's Moms house back to the lake yesterday.  About 3 hours of extremely slow driving.  You know - ladders are for the young!!!!! You did just have a Birthday!!!!!

I should have seen that coming Dale!!  I'm just thankful only the jugs were broken and not any bones!!  Woke up yesterday with a very sore  & stiff neck, tda bruises are appearing everywhere.  Don said he needed to check the door frame & tile for damage as he's sure I must have messed up both.  I have two holes in the back of my head & a mass of yucky hair around it.  I untangled the top layer & pulled it over the yucky stuff!!  LOL  I beleive I'm good to go, just moving a little slower than usual.  I shd be purple, black, blue & green by NYs!!

Y'all take care and thanks for the concern.  I'm very grateful to be walking around with no broken bones or concussion.  Just recvd a great Grandone photo I'm going to post later.

SNL,
First of all, I'm really sorry we missed your benchmark birthday party. I'm sure all attendees had a great time.
Secondly, I'm sorry to hear about your fall and injuries. I hope you heal quickly and are not too sore from bouncing around. As Southworth would say "Take another day off, with pay."

True sstory: When Dolly Partin was filming "9-5" there wa a scene that required her to step up on a short ladder while singing and decorating the office for a party. She fell off the ladder and filming was halted for a few days til she was healed enough to proceed.

What do we deduce from these two ladder events?
Do Not climb a ladder carring two big jugs.
Happy New Year to Y'all!

Sandy...I do hope you are okay.  With the next jars...make them plastic! Loved the pictures!

So sorry we couldn't make your party.  We managed to get through Christmas with the family yesterday and we slept all day.  I cannot recall the last time I was as ill as I have been the last two weeks but today my body reminded me it was time for a 'long winter's nap'!  I am amazed how rest can cure so many ills. So much for flu shots!!

We hope everyone had a safe and beautiful Christmas however it was celebrated!

Last time I turned on my pc was Sat aftrernoon.  Been busy & on-the-go!  Firstly, a BIG THANK YOU to each of you that took time out of a busy schedule to help me celebrate on Sunday!!    I had no idea so many of you wd show up!  There were SOCites from the classes of '62, 63, 64, 65 & 66!  Thak you for making my B-day so special.  It meant a lot to me!!   Lonnie Harmon took some great pictures & he loaded them onto FB.  You can see them from my FB pg or Lonnie's.

On Christmas Eve morning I washed up all the serving dishes, put away the glasses from the dishwasher & washed the big 1 Gal glass jugs the tea was in.  I left the Gal btles on the counter to air dry. Got dressed & we went to my long-time friends hse for Christmas Eve.  Got home abt 8:30pm.  So far it had been an absolute perfect two-days.  Abt 9:30pm I told Don I was going to put a few things up & go get ready for bed.  I picked up a jar in each hand, walked into the pantry & stepped up on the two-step stool. ( I always leave one hand free for balance, but not this time) As I reached to put one jar on the top shelf the stool tipped!  I fell bacward, a jar in each hand, and hit the tile floor with two jars crashing down around me!!  LOUD noise!  I hit my butt first & then my head hit the tile.  Kaboom!!  Don came running in & I'm laying on the floor with glass everywhere saying my head hurts.  He put his hand behind my head & started to help me up & started yelling, "There's blood everywhere!! Oh my gosh there's a big pool of blood!!"  Of course I had glass all over the front of me & he helped me up.  He grabed lots of paper towels & put against my head.  He was right . . . lots of blood on the floor.  He wanted to go immeditely to the ER.  I told him no, I'm not going to the ER until I see what my head looks like.  Besides, it's 10:00pm Christmas Eve & I can only imagine what the ER looks like!!  We had to try & weed thru all my hair which is now blood soaked in the back, not to mention the hair spray I had used earlier that day.  What a gooey mess.  He spent about 30 min trying to clean it up & then I took over & he went in the kitchen and began clening up a huge mess.  If you've ever dropped even a small glass, you know what a mess it is to clean up, much less two one-gal jars.  The bleeding stopped & with a wet wash rag I tried to wash the blood off my hair.  Didn't sleep much last  night, no way to get comfortable.  Got up at 5 & began trying to get the tangled mess out of the back. Couldn't get it all out so we dressed and went to my brothers house with the back of my head kinda pink looking & the hair all tangled.  Nothing like a Christmas Day surprise!!

We came home about 3:30 & I'm just going to leave it alone until tmo & I'll let the warm shower water run over it. And no, we're not going to Hstn tmo.  I don't think I can handle a 5 hr drive & I'm not letting anyone else see me with hair caked in blood & all tangle up.

Anyway, I'm now starting to bruise, I guess from hitting the door frame on the way down & the hard landing.  My last 3 days were great, except for that nasty fall. But it was still a good Christmas & I'm fine, just a litle sore & my head hurts, duh!  Hope all of you have had a good Christmas too.  Be careful if you have to go into work tmo, it's going to be nasty & dangerous in the mrng with all this water freezing over tonight!

Again - Thank you for making this a great B-day/Christmas!!!
