Place: Texas Comments: I will be praying for Sue, Mike and their families.
Place: Allen, Texas Comments: I am so sad to hear about our sweet SOC sister, Sue McDow. Every time I see her, I can imagine her in her cheerleader uniform at Sarah Zumwalt Junior High. I can still see her cheering on the stage at the pep rallies. And, that is the picture of this sweet lady that I wish to keep in my mind....a vibrant, smiling, popular young lady. She has been such a strong "fighter." Always smiling and helping to make our get-togethers fun. I hope you go peacefully, Sue. And, Mike, we love you and are here to provide you with emotional support. My heart is breaking for the two of you right now. Ronney McKee
Place: DS Comments: My prayers and heart are with Sue, Mike and family. She has suffered so long. Love you Sue.
Place: Dallas Comments: Don and I are praying for Sue and know that she is surrounded by her angels at this time. She has always been such an angel in her life. Mike our prayers are with you as well for strength to get through this time.
Place: Coppell Comments: Sandy, sorry about your fall. Also missing your birthday celebration. My arm was black and blue from the shoulder down past my elbow. My right had was also swollen. These were two concern side effects the emergency room said if happens to get to my family dr ASAP. He took another X-ray for me to take to my Orthopaedic surgeon, I have two parallel fractures n the ball of my shoulder instead of one. Fortunately no surgery is required, but an additional 4 weeks in my arm sling, had my 9 scalp staples removed as well. Our prayers are with Mike and Sue at this time. Love to all.
Place: Garland USA Comments: Such very sad news....our thoughts and prayers go to Sue and Mike. Our hearts are with you....
Place: Frisco Comments: Dear SOC friends, Unfortunately, the Dr.'s have decided that nothing further can be done to assist Sue in her fight. She is in total liver and kidney failure, along with her heart condition, and ventilator it's iimpossible for her to survive. The decision has been made to disconnect her ventilator tomorrow morning. The Dr. told Mike they would give her morphine and she would not be in any pain as her life comes to an end. Please keep Mike and Sue in your prayers during this extremely difficult time. Mike appreciates all the prayers and well wishes for them both. As soon as we're aware of the arrangements we will let Sandy know so she can keep everyone updated. We all love Sue so, and she will be in our hearts forever. Now she will go to be with our Lord and free of all the struggle and pain she has undergone this past few months. We love you our Susie Q.
Place: Richardson Comments: Thanks Everettt for clarifying it is Dls Methodist & not Allen. Prayers continue for Sue & Mike! Our kitty/house sitter will be over in the morning & we will then leave for Hstn for 2 and a half days. I'll ck my voice mail but no access to Em down there.
Place: Frisco Comments: Thanks Sandy for updating everyone on Sue Ash McDow. Just a note Sue is in CCU at Methodist Hospital Dallas. Love, Everett
Place: Update on Sue McDow Comments: I hate that lately I've been the bearer of bad news, but that is what this site is for . . . to share with our friends both Good & Bad. On 12-20 I notified you Sue had been rushed to Methodist Hosp in Allen & was on a ventilator. Heart function 10%. She is still there & is stable, but her kidneys are failing, along with her liver & her heart. Heart function has increased to 40-50%. She remains on a ventilator. Mike is holding out hope for a good outcome. We need to send all the prayers we can muster as Sue & Mike need our support & lots of prayers. In addition to being at the hospital all day each day, their Apt was consumed by fire on Thursday, 1-3!!!!! Mike was there that evening & when he walked from the kitchen into the living room, the LR carpet was on fire! He tried to put it out, had to call Fire Dept. They arrived quickly but all of the LR & Dinning Rm were destroyed & the rest of it was destroyed by water & smoke. They did have insurance, but Mike is in no position to deal with all that right now. He is staying with their friends, Everett & Jeri for now. God Bless Jeri & Everett for being there for Mike! If you would like to send cards or notes to Mike (Sue), the best address wd be Everett & Jeri's home. His add is corr in our 45th reunion dir. The card I sent on 12-19 came back as some of yours may have too. On the 19th she left the Skilled Nursing & has been in hosp ever since. Everett's home is a good place to send things as I know they will see that Mike gets them regardless of where he is. May God Bless & Keep Sue & Mike in his arms, as it is in Gods hands. Love to all and we should all thank God for the blessings He has given us in life.
Place: Carthage, TX Comments: Happy New Year to all and hoping for a better 2013. Any word on Sue Ash McDow??
Place: Cypress springs Comments: We are safely home and,yes our group there is fun....but I will stick to taking the pics not jumping in. You should make a note SNL that it was a couple of weeks after she hit her head and passed out that they discovered that Hillary had a blood clot! Keep that and your health in mind. Cleaned out the RV yesterday but somehow I pulled a muscle in my lower back. I was trying to climb on the bed to get stuff out of the upper cabinets...cannot put pressure on my knees so was climbing ...very awkward ...paying for it now...next time will get the stool...or someone taller!!! They are calling for snow and sleet here tonight....for joy.
Place: Looking Back At 2012 Comments: We had two great Mini Get-Togethers in 2012!! Saw some new faces and lots of old and dear friends! But to put things in perspective, we also lost six (6) classmates in 2012. They are: Jan 30, Michael Wayne Loyd Mar 3, Lowell Dee Johnson Jr. May 19, Diana Lynn Crockett Phillips (She was Married to classmate Richard Phillips) May 20, Judy Carolyn Holt Neal Aug 3, Kristina Ann Roman Smock Aug 16, Michael Lee Spray Also, two classmates passed away days before our 45th Reunion at the end of Sept, 2011. They were Donna Rexroat Holman on Sep 28 and Vicki Ann Sheets Brundrett on Sep 24. Things to ponder as we take on a New Year and new challenges.
Place: Richardson Comments: We left at 8 a.m. Monday & headed to Driftwood, just SW of Austin. Hardly any cars on the road & if it wasn't for the continuous drizzle & fog all the way down there . . . it wd have been a good drive! the yucky stayed all night and into NY morning. But we had fun with the 4 G-kids for 3-4 hrs while Mom & Dad went out. We brought party hats, poppers, sparklers & decorations. They said it was the best NY Eve ever!! But it was fun & we too enjoyed it. Got home last night about 9. The gash in my head is healing & the goose egg is about halfway gone down. It's a little easier to sleep now that the bump is decreasing. The bruises are still bad, but they too will go away in time. Apparently, I'm much tougher than Hillary!!! Poor thing is in the hospital and oddly enough, too ill to testify! ![]() I haven't called Mike lately, nor have I heard anything from anyone else. Will need to ck. The only thing I know regarding Ada Ann is what I gleam from FB. I'm glad to be home & that the cold drizzling rain has gone. Today I'm taking it easy, still in PJs & furry house shoes! Not even going to think about taking down & putting away Christmas stuff until Fri. Don & I had a great 2012, except for that late night accident on 12-24!! We are looking forward to another year and great things in 2013. Shortcake - Your Kerrville grp sounds like a fun way to spend NYE!! And as for those Polar Bear crazies . . . not in my lifetime!!! I can't even stand cool pool water!!! I have some info I want to publish for you & hope to have it ready tda. Let's all concentrate on making 2013 a great yr!!
Place: Kerrville Comments: Well we made it to midnight...gets harder every year...but had a good time at the party and stayed sober! Too old to get up in the morning with a hangover! Three parties today...a brunch, a black-eyed pea/bloody Mary party and at two some of the crazier people are jumping into one of the ponds in the club.....no I am not one of them...I will stick to taking pics. We will head for home tomorrow..until then Happy New Year everyone. |
