It does get better with time but I think of my dad every day. God blss your family during this time of loss. Thanks Toni for the kind words. Usually when someone tells me I should be on a stage they follow it by informing me there is one leaving in 5 minutes. (Karen, I know that is ancient) Hashtag #really,Southworth?

Place: Garland USA Comments: David, so sorry to hearing about your father's passing. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Prof. Smiley....I keep saying that you should take that act on the road. You, Sammy and John Southworth would make the Smothers Brothers look like small change. You should try it at the next mini-reunion. Has anyone heard from Shortcake or is she "on the road again" in that fancy RV??? God help us all if she is cuz she'll be driving for sure...testing out her newly acquired license!
Place: Sachse Comments: David, so sorry to hear about your dad. I hope you and your family will be comforted by fond memories of him.

Place: Southlake Comments: My friends, My Dad pasted away this afternoon
Place: Southlake Comments: Jack, there is another called ME TV I think its KTXD.
Place: 66erville Comments: As it gets harder to find "our" music on the radio (it seems we are no longer the target market and they are looking for the 70's and 80's music fans) I found two new channels on my cable system. They are Cozi and Antenna TV and the TV shows they run are aimed at us. Some of the shows are Hopalong Cassidy, Adam 12, Wells Fargo, Circus Boy (did you know Mickey Dolenz(sp)of the Monkeys started in Circus Boy?), Dragnet, Father Knows Best, Maude, and The Partridge Family. I guess they didn't keep copies of Fury and Skyking or the Cisco Kid. Fun to watch and brings back memories and sometimes you see some young actor who will go on to be a star. So check your TV listing and see if you get these two and see if your favorite old show is available. What I can't figure is why they run commercials for products for OLD people! Now that's not right.
Place: North of Brownwood Comments: I have another story out of Africa about the beutiful, yet deadly, Foo Bird that has a very nasty habit and legend has it that if you wash the "nasty habit" off you will fall over dead. But the moral to that story is so much like that ol' saying " If the shoe fits, wear it" that I won't bother you with that one. Have a good'en.
Place: Grosvenor Comments: There once was a leader of a tribe in Africa that demanded everyone bring all of their gold to him and he had it melted and cast into a throne from which he would rule. When stories began circulating that a larger tribe to the South had plans to steal the throne the king had a second floor added to his grass hut and hid the throne in the loft. However, one night a terrible storm blew in and the rain weakened the straw hut and the wind shook the house so that the throne fell through the grass floor and killed the king sleeping underneath. Of course there is a moral to this sad tale: " People that live in grass houses shouldn't store thrones." |
