Place: Coppell Comments: Nice rain this morning. We got over an inch of rain so far. Perfect timing to spread my Scotts Summer Guard. Jack, don't over exert yourself with your rigorous exercise schedule. Start with your right elbow. Hold a bottle of beer and drink 10 times. Repeat this 4 times then tune in to a pro golf tournament. You are assured a good 30 minute power nap Sandy, so what happened to your eye?
Place: Cypress springs Comments: The weather here at the lake is great! We have been outside doing stuff all day. Unfortunately we have to head to garland tmr. Friends are having 50 th anniversary party plus mom is going to move and we have to start getting stuff ready. Although the place she is moving to is going to come pack everything and have a decorator place everything in her new place. I think I want to move there! Good food...no yard work...maid service, gated. Course I cannot afford it but oh well. We will miss chambrel but this place is really a lot nicer.
Place: Richardson Comments: Sam - you are definitely a busy man! I'm tired just thinking about 3 times a wk 2 hrs each session of PT! Hope your arm/shoulder is healing & you're better able to use it now.Ronney - How's that new job coming along? Hope it will carry you on into retirement! I'm doing good, swelling in eye finally going down & I'm beginning to feel normal again . . . or whatever normal is for me?? We got over an inch of rain Wed nite/Thurs mrng. It was wonderful!!!!
Place: Allen, Texas Comments: Hey, Rod ol' buddy!!!! How are you doing? Since I started working at Capital One, I don't have time to communicate much...here or on FaceBook. Probably a good thing, seeing as everytime I open my mouth, my shoe tries to fly into it. haha!
Place: 66erville Comments: That is very impressive, Sam. 2 hours, three days a week. You da man.
Place: Oregon Comments: I'm still here, used to be lots to read but no so today. I don't usually say much but will give it try more often, if that's OK.
Place: Coppell Comments: Ok u 2. I took the hint. Busy? Yesh as Cody Jack says. Five grandkids, school plays, grandparents days, daughter and family moving back to Highland Park, May birthdays, and physical therapy( ( three days per week and two hours per day). TGIJune.
Place: Richardson Comments: Jack, I agree. It is a shame all the regulars that used to post here have gone silent. I suspect many have jumped to FB where you can tell the world every intimate detail about your life & get instant gratification with a million "Likes"!! But I liked our little grp where we all shared our good times & bad and we all knew where we came from. It was nice to her from friends all over the country as well as our friends from other SOC classes. This GB is also very secure. I looked long and hard when I replaced our old GB, as that one allowed people to get our emails. This GB does not! But, I do know (based on comments I get and the emails) we still have a lot of followers, they just don't post. So Jack, it may be you & me babe holding down the '66 GB!! Tda is my brother's B-day. We're going over to his house tonight to celebrate. Hope all of you in the DFW area got some of that wonderful rain this mrng!!
Place: 66erville Comments: Seems to be only 4 or 5 that post anymore and that is a shame. I don't know if everybody has gotten busy or is so down at what this administration and our government is try/doing to us. I never thought this group would run out of things to talk about. Or the million memories floating around of good ole SOC, teachers and events. For some reason (who knows why), I was thinking about a football game at Sprague field our senior year. Don't remember who we played or the outcome of the game, but in the parking lot after wards. Cooley's truck had a flat tire. As we stood around watching/helping him with it a crowd gathered. Most weren't SOCites. Words exchanged and people started squaring off. About that time teachers and adults showed up and it was over as quick as it began. Seemed like it was an hour before my heart slowed down. Funny how something silly like that sticks with a person!
Place: Richardson Comments: Rick - I haven't put on any make-up or done hardly anything with my hair (other than brush it) since May 19th. That was the day my nephew graduated from OKCY. If I posted a pic like that it would certainly scare away the few people remaining here on the GB!! But tda there is a little more improvement, so I think I've about got this infection whipped!! Monday April comes to visit for 5 days. She's 1/3 of the triplets. Gotta get better soon cause lots of outdoor things planned with April. The boys are on a summer league baseball team & it will be after the 4th of July before we can get them. Can y'all believe they will be 9 in Oct??!!
Place: bigD Comments: Hay Sandy, take a picture of your self and post it here so we can share in your misery.
Place: Richardson Comments: Glad to hear your ribs are better. Broken or bruised ribs are tough . . . not much you can do except let them slowly heal. Last night was the best nights sleep I've gotten in 2 and a half wks! Tda I feel pretty good, I'm thrilled! Tda, for the 1st time, I see a little improvement on the swelling in my eye area. Hopefully it will get better ea day. This is day 5 of 10 day antibiotic. Today is beautiful. Light breeze, sunshine & a bit cool this mrng. Wow, glad to be alive to enjoy this day!
Place: CS Comments: The ribs are finally starting to feel better. I can actually sneeze without saying ah sh--! For awhile there I did not dare sneeze in church! Yep this stuff in the air is killing everyone allergies. Not fun if you like to be outside.....or your grandchildren are coming to visit....good luck.
Place: Richardson Comments: Now Shortcake, don't get me confused with yourself!! I'm pretty sure my sinus infection has nothing to do with me falling off the stepstool!! In fact, just 2 wks ago the last little scab & hair fell off that injury. How's your ribs Shortcake? I think this sinus problem is the result of Don & I working outside in the Azalea & Hydrangea beds for 2 days & it was really windy too. Next day I woke up with all kinds of problems. This has bn a very windy Spring & wind blows pollen everywhere. 3rd day on antibiotics, but no improvement yet. If my eyelid & brow haven't gone down at least "some" by Mon mrng . . . I guess I'll go back to the Dr. I'm so tired of being in the house!!
Place: CS Comments: Sounds to me like you have been climbing ladders again sandy! You are sure this is not something left from falling! Sorry we did not get to come to Gordy's.....company decided to come to the lake...kind of hard to tell your mother she cannot come visit. Missed you guys though. |
