Place: FW Comments: Toni - So glad to hear that Bruce wasn't injured any worse than he was! Tell him I'm giving lots of thanks for His protection.
Place: Richardson Comments: Oh my goodness Toni!!! Was he hit by another car or caught up in a multicar mess??!! If his car was totaled I can only imagine how banged up he is. But thank God he is ok & will heal with time & rest. I'm sure he is as upset about his golf club as anything else! But, both the club & the car can be replaced via insurance, Bruce is another matter. Give him our best & glad he is home & recovering from all the bruises. TNX Toni, I thought the front pg & the GB cd use some sprucing up. I'll remove all the patriotic stuff Monday. Will try & find something else, maybe flowers or something to use on the GB as separators in place of the stars.
Place: Garland USA Comments: BTW....SNL.....nice touch to the guestbook....
Place: Garland USA Comments: Hope everyone had a great July 4th. Only managed to see a few fireworks along PGBT as we were watching the grandson's world series ball tournament that is being played all over the metroplex. We have really put some miles on the car this weekend! Oh well, it's all good because it's not our car! Bruce was in a major traffic accident on July 3rd and took an unexpected trip to the hospital via an ambulance! He was treated and released but is really banged up! His car was completely destroyed and I just about flipped out when I saw it. We went to get all of his things out of the car and wouldn't you know it.... his 3 Wood golf club was totally snapped off at the head! Bruce looks like he got into a fight and lost! Poor thing. I really feel for him but time is the only healer in this case. Needless to say, I've been doing ALL of the driving this holiday weekend!
Place: Richardson Comments: Rick, I love fireworks & Richardson has a great display. We used to always go to Addison's Event & it was easy to get to & a lot of food booths and entertainment. We only lived barely a mile from ground zero. We lived there 24 yrs., but the last 5-6 yrs we quit going bec the crowds and traffic were so bad it was miserable. Took us over an hour to get home!! Here - - we simply walk down the alley & cross the street. It's great! I added another cute photo to P&J! It's 4th of July related. Take a peek and look at the album, you may have missed a few!
Place: bigD Comments: I went to the fireworks display in Duncanville. Took the Gkids and we had great fun. There were millions of people at Armstrong park. cars were parked in the parking lots of businesses around the park. The event staff blocked the exits of the lots until all the people had cleared the park. we waited 45 min. for the people to get out of the park. Then when the people were all in their cars, they opened the exits and let the cars leave. Imagine ten thousand cars all trying to leave at the same time. Note to self, next year park a mile away from the park. But we still had great fun.
Place: Richardson Comments: Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful July 4th day!! Haven't seen a 4th this nice in many a year. Our neighborhood parade went well this mrng. Had some really decked out & cute kids in the parade. Of course the sausage kolache at the end of the parade was my reward! Happy 4th and THANK YOU to all who have served in the military, as YOU have made this day possible! Let Freedom Ring!!!
Place: Richardson Comments: Added some 4th of July images to Home pg & Events as well as some patriotic stars here on GB. Hope everyone has a safe and wonderful 4th tmo!! We have a little parade here in the neighborhood with the kids decorating their bikes & scooters & we all walk from in front of our house up to the pool. Then we have OJ & Kolaches! Tmo night we'll walk down our alley to the park & sit on the hill with all the neighbors and watch spectacular fireworks. HAPPY 4th of JULY!!!!
Place: FW Comments: Sandy, I love how you've decorated the Guestbook. Happy Independence Day!
Place: Richardson Comments: In keeping with the baseball theme, I've added pics of 2/3rds of the triplets, the two boys! They love baseball & played on a summer league. I posted the official team photo & one their Mom took after a game. It's getting harder to tell who is who?? Now that Dylan's two front teeth finally came in . . . very difficult to tell them apart.
Place: Richardson Comments: I know what you mean Jack. Don & I were discussing during the games how Buzz & Tom seem to make excuses for Leonys & Jurickson for making a very poor decision as to where to throw the ball. They keep saying, "It's a rookie mistake & they'll get better with practice." WHAT!!?? I thought that was what Triple A Round Rock was for and what player doesn't know when you should throw to 2nd instead of a doomed no-out throw to 3rd??? I mean really, high sch teaches you that, not to mention all their time in Round Rock/Frisco! Just tell it like it is . . . they made a very bad decision and it cost us an out each time! I liked it when Adrian Beltre was in the dugout explaining to Profar what he should have done and giving him a fatherly talk! They both are explosive players and have great potential. Ok enough about baseball. How is everyone enjoying the unexpected cool air in July?? Man, this is wonderful, felt like Fall out on the patio this morning!
Place: 66erville Comments: SNL, that is one (of the many) things I don't understand about pro sports. You'd think that after all the years these "kids" have been playing, they would not have to "think and play". How many practices did even I go through where the coach set the play like, "one out, runner on first" and hit the ball to a player so he would know where to throw the ball in the game? Every player should know what to do if the ball is hit to him BEFORE the ball is pitched. Players at that level who make mental mistakes should be ridding the bench!
Place: Richardson Comments: Good for you Rick! Any of us that get out and play (whatever the activity) are better off!! I bet you & the team will get better as you go forward. If it were easy we wouldn't play those darn MLB players so much money!! Hang in there, you'll get better.
Place: bigD Comments: I was catcher the first game and first base the next. We lost them both. When at bat I was put out at first twice and made one run. We'll see how it goes tonight.
Place: Richardson Comments: Jack, as for Rick . . . I thought he meant he was the pitcher & was 0-2. In any case 0-2 isn't good regardless of the team or position. Jack, maybe you could stop the grounder by throwing your glove down on it! Then, bend over to pick it up. I love what Wash said when asked about the poor judgment plays by several of the new guys. He said, "I've got to teach them how to play and think at the same time!" |
