Place: Richardson Comments: Here's the Good News Toni was looking for. . . I s/w Charles little bit ago & he is doing much better. The Great News is that he actually called me & we talked!! He said it only took minutes for ambulance to arrive & very close to Methodist there in Oak Cliff. They met him at he door & he got immediate treatment. His face is getting better & no other paralysis!! Quick action can make the diff btwn a good outcome & a bad one. He had a TIA. I'm sure most of you are familiar with that term. Thank goodness Charles is dng better. They will run one more test tmo & he hopes he may be able to go home late tmo. We hope so too Charles. Love you!
Place: Richardson Comments: OK Toni, this is what I've got for everyone . . . Last night I attended '63's 50th Reunion. Had a great time & saw some dear friends & got to visit with some teachers. It made me realize just how precious each day is & how quickly we can have someone taken away from us! There were 4 major players from '63 missing from last nights celebration, 3 of them were friends of mine. The Good News for us '66ers is that we have the opportunity to get together & see one another on Nov 9th. If you are physically able to make it - - do it!! Please don't send me a note saying you're too busy & you'll catch us "next time"! There may not be a "next time" for you or, someone you really would like to have seen. Make the effort, you'll be glad you did!! Enough said.
Place: Garland USA Comments: SNL...so sorry to hear about Charles. Will keep him in our thoughts and prayers. Thank you for keeping us informed. We are now ready for some really good news, Sandy. ![]()
Place: Coppell Comments: Don, Sarah and I express our sincere sympathy to you and your family on the lost of your brother. Thank you for sharing Doug's obituary. Our prayers are with Charles and Mike as well. As getting older would have it, illness strikes our SOC family often now, which is another reason we all should attend the mini reunions. We don't know what is in store between now and our 50th.
Place: G.P. Tx Comments: So sorry to hear about Charles. I will certainly be praying for him.
Place: McKinney, TX Comments: Sorry to hear about Charles. Will put him on the prayer list.
Place: Richardson Comments: Don & I went to a SWBell/AT&T reunion last evening at the Blue Mesa Grill in Addison. Man, has that shopping area there btwn Montfort & the Tollway changed! The old unoccupied Bed Bath & Beyond bldg. torn dwn. In its place a new Whole Foods plus other businesses!! Blue Mesa left old bldg. there & moved across Montfort to a beautiful bldg. Saw 2 of my old Cr Reps I haven't seen in more than 25 yrs! Also some other old friends. Great time!! This evening I'm gng to the Cl of '63's 50th Reunion. Peaches always does a beautiful job on their reunions & I'm looking frwd to seeing many old friends. I'm gng to try & get in touch with Miriam to ck on Charles tmo.
Place: DS Comments: Sorry to hear about Charles. I have been thinking about him lately and wondered how he was. Prayers for Charles as well as his Mom and doctors. Very nice obit for Doug. Don must be a very proud big brother. That's our threes...we don't need anymore. God bless all.
Place: News on Charle Moss! Comments: Just recvd call from Miriam (Chareles' dear friend) & after they went to his heart Dr this mrng they left & went to his Mom's house there in O.C. He had a stroke while at his Mom's hse!! Ambulance took him to closet hosp which was Methodist there on Colorado. This happened about 11:30am tda. It is a "mild" stoke & he didn't loose use of his arms or legs. It's mainly his face that is numb. He can't talk very good, so probably not good idea to call just yet, but man, could he use our prayers. They won't do anything until Monday, cause we all know hospitals don't do anything on the weekends unless it's life or death situation!! We have several classmates that need our support & prayers, please think of Don Lincoln on the loss of his brother, Mike Dunn in hospital after 2 heart surgeries and Charles Moss in hospital with a stroke!! I'm sure Cards & emails would be welcomed by all 3. Their correct info is in our 45th Dir.
Place: Richardson Comments: Don - Thank yo for allowing us to read Doug's obit. It was beautiful and gave me a better sense of what a great man he was to his family & everyone he met. I know this is a very big loss and I will keep you, Kathy & Doug's family in my prayers. I heard from Mike Dunn this mrng & he is out of ICU & in a room. He said he really appreciates the Em he got from several of you as they made his day! He hopes to go home in a few days. His em is jmdaed@yahoo.com
Place: Grosvenor, Texas Comments: Don, I join our classmates in expressing my heartfelt condolences on the loss of your brother. Yuvonne and I have you and your family at the top of our prayer list. Second on our list is Mike and his family and his health care needs.
Place: Calif. Comments: Hey Don, I'm really sorry to read about your brother. It's a tough thing losing a sibling; losing anyone I suppose, but the brother/sister loss seems particularly bad to me.
Place: Garland USA Comments: Don, so sorry to hear about Doug's passing. I know you two were so very close. Prayers go out to Doug's wife and family and to you and Kathy. Also so very sorry to hear about Mike Dunn. We will keep Mike in our thoughts and prayers for a certain recovery. To the rest of you 66ers.....take care of yourselves, please.
Place: The Woodlands, TX Comments: Don, I am so sorry to learn of your brother's death. It has been a long struggle, indeed. His is one of the most inspiring obituaries I've read. Makes me feel like a total slacker. Will be thinking of you and his family the next few days.
