Seems like some families are families until a death, then some turn to only themselves. My Dad's will was very specific, 50/50 split between my sister and I, but she didn't agree. Luckily I was the executor and divided everything that way. She hasn't spoken to any of us since the day Dad's probate finished. Her loss, not ours. She chose her husband's family over her own.  She's never even seen her youngest nephew, too bad money has to do that.
I saw the same thing when Linda's Dad died so I feel for those of you who have or are going through this now. So many years wasted and families torn apart, guess they get what the deserve. Money just isn't worth that.

Karen, I too am sorry to hear of the family issues you and Bobby are experiencing. It indeed is heart wrenching to see how this can happen. Bless you and Bobby as Sarah and my prayers are with the both of you at this time.
Sandy, my dad also was very wise and had the most common sense of any man I ever knew. He told all three of us boys, we were loved equally and we were to love our kids and grandkids equally as well. He also said a true friend will never say "I will as long as" or "Yes only if" Sarah and I are so proud to say these two phrases are never used by our Socite friends.

KRL-I too am sorry for the turmoil that transpired in Bobby's family after his mom's death.  My brother, who has been an atty all his life, told me about 20 yrs ago that a death in a family can cause more turmoil than any other event.  He said he's seen very close families simply rip each other apart and that it all seems to center around "Greed".  Everyone wants to make sure someone else doesn't get more than they do.

My bro & I made a pack more than 20 yrs ago just before Mom died that we would not do that!  No matter what we would do what mom & dad raised us to do and there wd be no fighting over anything!!  To this day we have not had a cross word.  But the larger the family the more chance of disagreements.

KRL- Take the high road and don't waste your energy or time worry about people who were horrible to you or Bobby, just take care of Bobby and maintain the friendship of true friends!!  Love you both!!!

Karen, sorry that things did not go well with Bobby's sisters.  It is amazing how people act sometimes where there is a death in the family.  Bobby is such a sweetheart and is always there for everyone.

Hope everyone stays warm today and that we do not get much more precipitation.  Ready for the 60's and 70's this weekend and the sunshine!

Back home finally. Thanks to everyone for calls, cards, flowers etc. it has truly been an emotional roller coaster for the past week. Some of the things that go on in a family that is supposed to love each other just amazes me. Some of them I just do not understand. I guess the saddest part is that I have always been friends with his sisters and I now have no use for them at all because of the way they treated bobby.
You guys remember that when you have dusts in your family. I may see his brother but will not see his sisters unless I just have to.

I agree Sam, it's rather scary.  One of my favorites is when the Dr. says, " It's a simple surgery".  Sure, if you're not the patient!  Or, "Recovery time is usually short".  Yeah, if your a 21-year-old muscled athlete in perfect health!!  What about the rest of us normal people???

Oh well, live and learn . . .  I'm just very glad you are home & still have your humor intact!

Having two minor surgeries and one major surgery recently, here are some of my favorite surgeon statements....... Oops Has anyone seen my Rolex? What do you mean she doesn't have insurance? If that's the spleen, then what is this I removed?

Stuck in his apt since last Thurs!!  How awful!  Now it you had been there . . .  well, just sayin'.  It's like Old Man Winter just won't let go of us in TX or Or  or for that matter the entire East Coast!!

It is really great news that both our guys are back home and hanging in there.  Hopefully both will continue to improve.

Really nasty out tda, drizzle & cold.  Hope we don't have ice again in the mrng.  TNX Barb, glad you like the new images.  Thought it might push some of our guys into thinking "Valentines"!  Remember guys - Don't send me flowers . . .  I'm very allergic to them!!!  But I do  love food!!!!

So glad Charles is home.  Don talked with him for a few minutes this weekend.

Sam, glad you are doing well.  Can't keep a good man down!!!!!

Don has been stuck in his apartment since last Thursday because of the snow in Portland.  He was very glad to go to work this morning.  He is looking forward to being back home at the end of March.

ENOUGH!!! If you girls want to talk before and after and stripped down studs, take it to email. This is not the proper venue.
JD, I feel your pain.
Thanks for the heads up, Sam. I wired my doorbell with a surprise buzzer.

Mixture of sleet & snow began falling about 10 min ago & has continued.  Just as the other stuff melted . . .  here it comes again.  I'm so sick of winter.  But I'm sure Charles is more sick of being in the hospital!!

Yes, I took several pics of the before & a few with everything stripped down to the studs.  It's scary looking, sure hope this all works out!!
