Place: Richardson Comments: Today Pitchers & Catchers report to Surprise, AZ. Spring Training in a few days. Then . . . Opening Day on March 31st!!!!!
Place: Richardson Comments: Hey Toni -How you feeling tda? Better I hope! Sammy-How you feeling? I do hope the pain has eased some & you're feeling some better! T/W Charles other day and he sounded better than I've heard him in a long time. He's working on building up his breathing ability so he can go for longer periods of time without using the oxygen. Put some pretty flowers on the GB as it feels like Spring! Sure hope winter doesn't creep back in for one last blowout! As long as it doesn't get below 32, I'm Ok with it. But rule of thumb is . . . Don't plant your bedding plants until after Easter! Even though it may not freeze, the low 30s will wilt them. Easter isn't until April 20th this yr. So no bedding plants go in the ground until April 21st!! Enjoy this great weather in DFW area!!!
Place: Richardson Comments: Shortcake - That Bobby has a way with words. Just be glad he wasn't trying to get a measurement for how "wide" to make the door! ![]()
Place: Cypress springs Comments: Our bathroom seems tobe moving along also. You will get a laugh from this....bobby told me to come upstairs the other day so he could "measure my butt". Well you can imagine my reaction to that! What he meant to say was the how high to make the bench in the shower. He really could have gotten hurt from that one statement! Happy late anniversary SNL and Don. Toni .....once all that meaness gets out of your system you will feel great...that is what mom used to say. Never was sick long!!! Lol. (3
Place: Sunny & Beautiful in the Big R Comments: Thanks girls! It was a nice anniversary, Went to a movie & had a great Italian dinner at our neighborhood Venezia restaurant. Very good food! Tda is "outside" work day. Trim, mow, pu leaves, clean patio, etc. The bath is coming along pretty good. No major snags except waiting for 1 wk for the plumber to come & cut & weld the cold water line to connect the new outside faucet. Once that was done we could move on. I think the hard part of rebuilding some of the interior (they had leaks & lots of rotted 2x4s & mildewed insulation) and putting in new insulation is done. We hope to lay the bottom of the shower (where the old shower pan was) with tile later this wk. Then give it a day or so to set before standing on it to start putting up the shower wall tiles. We have some ambitious ideas, so, we hope our ambition isn't greater than our abilities!!
Place: Garland USA Comments: Happy Anniversary Sandy and Don!!
Place: Dallas Comments: Sandy and Don, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!! Hope you have a wonderful day. How is the bathroom coming along????? I know how meticulous Don is and it is going to be beautiful.
Place: Richardson Comments: Happy Valentine's Day!! It's also Don & my 29th wedding anniversary. Hard to believe 29 yrs have gone by. WOW, what a great ride!! I got a beautiful card & candy this morning. About to leave to go see American Hustle, then quiet dinner at a small local restaurant that won't be too crowded. Toni - Not fair you being sick again & especially today!! Do hope you feel better real soon. Supposed to be a beautiful next few days so maybe you can get out in the warmer weather.
Place: Garland USA Comments: Karen, so sorry that you had to experience the shortcomings of family. It seems that many families keep their feelings so bottled up that they unleash them on everyone when the matriarch or patriarch of a family finally passes on. Just know that it is their loss, not yours and Bobby's. BTW....I'll accept all of the flowers that anyone may have sent to SNL before they knew she was allergic to flowers!! The alternate address is 729 Kingsbridge Dr., Garland, Texas, and I'll be here all day.....in my sick bed AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Place: Coppell Comments: Happy Valentine's Day Ladies. Hope your day is special.
Place: Richardson Comments: Guys - If you haven't gotten around to it by now . . . I suggest you hit Krogers or Tom Thumb or the like tonight!!! Going to be some beautiful weather next few days. Hope everyone gets out to enjoy it!
Place: Oregon Comments: Seems like some families are families until a death, then some turn to only themselves. My Dad's will was very specific, 50/50 split between my sister and I, but she didn't agree. Luckily I was the executor and divided everything that way. She hasn't spoken to any of us since the day Dad's probate finished. Her loss, not ours. She chose her husband's family over her own. She's never even seen her youngest nephew, too bad money has to do that. I saw the same thing when Linda's Dad died so I feel for those of you who have or are going through this now. So many years wasted and families torn apart, guess they get what the deserve. Money just isn't worth that.
Place: Coppell Comments: Karen, I too am sorry to hear of the family issues you and Bobby are experiencing. It indeed is heart wrenching to see how this can happen. Bless you and Bobby as Sarah and my prayers are with the both of you at this time. Sandy, my dad also was very wise and had the most common sense of any man I ever knew. He told all three of us boys, we were loved equally and we were to love our kids and grandkids equally as well. He also said a true friend will never say "I will as long as" or "Yes only if" Sarah and I are so proud to say these two phrases are never used by our Socite friends.
Place: Richardson Comments: KRL-I too am sorry for the turmoil that transpired in Bobby's family after his mom's death. My brother, who has been an atty all his life, told me about 20 yrs ago that a death in a family can cause more turmoil than any other event. He said he's seen very close families simply rip each other apart and that it all seems to center around "Greed". Everyone wants to make sure someone else doesn't get more than they do. My bro & I made a pack more than 20 yrs ago just before Mom died that we would not do that! No matter what we would do what mom & dad raised us to do and there wd be no fighting over anything!! To this day we have not had a cross word. But the larger the family the more chance of disagreements. KRL- Take the high road and don't waste your energy or time worry about people who were horrible to you or Bobby, just take care of Bobby and maintain the friendship of true friends!! Love you both!!!
Place: Dallas Comments: Karen, sorry that things did not go well with Bobby's sisters. It is amazing how people act sometimes where there is a death in the family. Bobby is such a sweetheart and is always there for everyone. Hope everyone stays warm today and that we do not get much more precipitation. Ready for the 60's and 70's this weekend and the sunshine! |
