Place: Richardson Comments: No, I didn't see that obit Rick. Thanks for letting us know. How is your sweet mom? Doing Ok after surgery I hope. Is she home yet? Don't worry Robert, no one is offended. And no, I don't use 8.1. Based on notes here, most are using Vista are Windows 7. Sorry.
Place: BigD Comments: Just a note to SNL I see flowers I always have. I was looking on Moms desk a couple of days ago looking for something she wanted me to bring to her at the hospital ( she had an operation , they removed her Gall bladder) I found a Obit, for Virginia Egan, Robert Egans Mother. She died December 30, 2013. Robert had brothers John and Mike. I don't remember seeing this on the guest book.
Place: checking all doors into SpaceCity Comments: It seems I keep sticking my foot into mouth here. Though I know 98% of everyone here, it still not the crowd I ran with. Otay lets get on with it. Is anyone here working with windows 8.1 ? I have trouble finding things, I learned WebTV in about two weeks and windows xp in a month. anyway I could use help from other ones using 8.1. I have to go , my brother from east Texas via Skype . Later , if I have offended anyone , I am very sorry
Place: Richardson Comments: Praying your surgery was very successful and no more blockage!! You are correct Sammy, we want to have an open & friendly atmosphere here on our GB. Free for any SOCite, family member or grad from another school to post a message. But if someone post racist, hateful or slanderous things about someone I will delete it & if it happens again I'll block them from posting. There is a difference in kidding around with someone and in saying mean and hurtful things. I appreciate everyone who takes the time to post on this site and as long as you own up to your post you are welcome on this site, unless you feel the need to berate or vilify someone, and that type of post will be removed. Sammy - thanks for the heads up on the donation, will let you know when it is recvd. All donations are appreciated and I guard that money like a hawk! I want every dollar to go as far as I can stretch it.
Place: Zale Lipshy Hospital Comments: At the radiology department for my post operative x-Ray. Praying this will show no blockage and the surgery was a complete success. Robert, to my knowledge, we have never posted racist jokes as this is not the appropriate forum to do so. Sandy, correct me if I'm wrong. Mailing a check to feed the website piggy bank to Sandy. Any news regarding our next mini?
Place: Cypress Springs Comments: Ok - I am now seeing flowers!!! On GB I mean. I did have an x but it has gone away....figured the weather was getting to me. Ok this snow and sleet is just getting to me - I am snowed in - might make it pretty but I only like it if I am getting ready to go skiing!!!! Thought we were going to have to go and crank up the RV last night so we would have heat. The power went off at about midnight for about 3 hours. I like warmth. There is a RV park not far from here - I will take my RV there and hook it up - there is a McDonalds close by and a Sonic - all the comforts of home!!!!! Actually there is also a Mexican food restaurant close by and a dairy queen.....so if they turn my power off for any length of time I am gone!
Place: Richardson Comments: THANKS JS for the hints & update!! I just got access to the Admin Panel & fixed it. And as an FYI - Please be sure to tell me if you only see Xs or crazy lines!! I would never knowingly let that be seen on our GB. But since I was seeing flowers, I thought everyone else was to. Now, tell me if you can not see flowers!! ![]() Robert, in answer to your question . . . Yes, we have a wet saw with a blade for cutting tile & stone. Our bath counter tops look like a mini Lowe's! Don has just about every tool imaginable. But it's not like HGTV where the Property Brothers take a sledge hammer to it & break walls!! Ours is a finished bath with lights, faux painted walls, flooring, large mirror, etc. We have to move carefully in taking down al the old tile and putting in all the other stuff so as not to mess up our walls, floors, counters, etc. But it's starting to look good! Gotta go for now, but do tell me Yes or No on seeing both sets of flowers so I'll know if I fixed it correctly. THANKS!
Place: The Woodlands Comments: Ahhhh .... the flowers are back! That's a pretty slick "workaround", SNL. Very clever. We should send Robert Norman a bouquet for speaking up and pointing out the obvious while the rest of us sheep just figured our computers weren't refreshing all the images.
Place: Richardson Comments: I think I know how to fix the problem of not seeing the images. JS & I talked via wm & he had some suggestions. I will try & fix it but right now I can't get into the Admin panel of GB . . . it's down! Will try later & then y'all can let me know if you see beautiful flowers or ugly Xs.
Place: Garland USA Comments: SNL....no flowers ...no x.....just little pictures torn across the middle! I'm using Windows 7! Everyone stay safe and warm!
Place: Sleet White in Richardson Comments: Yep, it's chilly up here JS. Forecast is for 12 degrees tonight !! The coldest ever recorded in Dallas in March was 10. Right now it's 20 at our hse & everything is white outside. JS, you are such a techy, how come you aren't seeing my pretty flowers?? Really, they are very nice! Oh, never mind, you said you were running Vista! I'm running Internet Explorer Windows 7. OK, I'm signing off as going to watch the rest of the pre-show/red carpet & then the Oscars.
Place: The Woodlands, TX Comments: Memo to SNL: Like Robert, I too, am NOT seeing the flower dividers nor bouquet at the top. Just an "x". My machine runs Windows Vista. Been that way for a couple of days. Stay warm, we've dropped from 62 degrees to 44 in the past two hours. Dallas must be REALLY chilly.
Place: SpaceCity in orbit now Comments: I use to be a joker but as time went on, body parts became fewer, maybe that has an effect. SNL do you have all the tools needed for laying tile? Tile men , painters and brick layers seem to be a carpenter with his brains kicked out. Can we tell racist jokes here, heard a few good one last week? ok, SNL I will check the pop up blocker. QUESTION HERE==does anyone else have the new windows 8.1 on their computer? I figured out WebTV in two weeks and windows 98 was a laughing joke, then moved up to XP in a few months. but I think that windows 8.1 is so confusing that it can't keep up with it self. I goes once a week to the head shrink. maybe she can fix it all out. Her name is Abby and has one to greatest looking legs I seen in a long time.ok Like I said before if you understand windows 8.1 maybe you could help me. OTAY? Later to all you young bears, from an old bear
Place: Coppell Comments: Kids and grankids came at 12:30 today and all left at 3:00. Made it home safely. Now we have "thunder sleet" @ DFW area. This is incredible. Kathryn's party was a success. Lot's of gifts and cake & ice cream. Good thing we went to Kroger yesterday to get the lunch stuff. Appears all of DFW will be shut ins for the next 18 + hours. Windchill tomorrow morning will be 0. CRAZY! Robert, don't take this group too seriously, we like teasing and hammering each other from time to time. Bottom line is we are all there for each other. Sandy, hope you're taking progress pictures as your new bathroom becomes a reality. Would like to see them at our next mini.
Place: Cold & Sleeting in Richardson Comments: Robert - I can't say for everyone else, but the flower dividers between post are still there and so is the bouquet at the top. No Xs. Maybe you should turn off your pop-up blocker. Sometimes it keeps images from appearing. Does anyone else see Xs instead of the flowers?? Sammy - I am really hoping this is the last winter blast & Spring is just around the corner. Hate that your G-dtrs B-day will be curtailed & no bounce house! If icy roads are becoming a problem . . do it next wkend. Better safe than someone having an accident. I bought groceries yesterday - we're not going anywhere tda. think we'll try to clean up some of the dust & dirt throughout the downstairs!! Oh my, it seeps in everywhere. Cutting the tile in the bathrm caused it. Don had to cut five 16" tiles as we redesigned things a little and they were in the way. What a bunch of dust!! But good news is . . . the shower pan area is finished, sealed & it's beautiful. Love the 2"x2" stones we picked and the grout turned out to be the perfect color. It outta be, took us more than an hour to pick out the grout color! . The shower stall is going to be 10 x 16 tiles so easier than those darn small stones for the bottom. Small stone 2x2 on the shower floor and front of the bathtub. The bigger tile on the stall walls and around the top of the tub.So, when you take a shower in your nice clean bathroom without dust . . . just be glad you aren't married to my husband or else you'd be using a small upstairs bath and dusting your bdrm nearly every day!!
