Sounds great to me, Sam. You two are an excellent reason to celebrate (like this group needs one). OK now we have a place, now we need a date and time!

Ok time change check. Watch, clocks, oven, microwave, coffee pot, old clock radio, car. pool? , boat? Anything else?
Sarah and I were watching TV last night. Both started yawning at 9:00. Were not for sure if it was really 10:00 or 8:00. Just. Know we lost an hour sleep. Go figure.
Jack, Charles Moss and I were talking about a celebration get together at Snuffers on Midway near Beltline.
"High" Robert. How are you this morning?

Did I ever mention I think daylight savings time is stupid? The first week really sucks!  Now, SNL, for those of us who don't read between the lines very well, are you trying to let us know that the kiddy is low and we all need to chip in to keep the guestbook on line?? Don't want that to happen.

Hope everyone has al their clocks changed by now.  Sammy - I thought of one more clock that can be really important . . .  the thermostat!!  When we had to get a new A/C unit last Spring, we also upgraded the old stat in our house.  The new one has a clock & we can set different times for it to come on/off and temp changes throughout a 24 hr period.  The only ones left are the car & my wrist watch.

Ok , I was just messing with you about the Space City gab. But the auto door did get the best of me.  I am sore all over and the tickets to Space City do help with the pain.  Now I am very sorry if I have offended anyone with the joking.  it is I am alone up here except for the wife, and thank God for her. I was a joker in school and I reckon I still am in a lot of ways.

You guys are funny!!  And thanks for the reminder about the auto coffee pot Sammy.  That will be the first clock I change!

Reckon if we band together Texans can get the Texas Legislature to adopt the common sense rule of Arizona?  To quote Jack, "We don't need no stickin' time change!"[rofl]

Hey Sammy - Recvd your donation ck last night in the mailbox.  THANK YOU!

For those of you who may be new to the GB or just wondering why people donate, here's the reason.  It cost money to pay for a Server to provide us space, registration, site name registration and a separate GB.  In 2010 our provider offer me a 5 yr deal that wd save over $525.  I took it.  It runs out in March 2015.  But the GB is separate & $42 annually.  I have a separate ckng acct for SOC "66 Reunion Fund and bec I have other accts with the bank, they don't ever charge a fee for the acct.  Of course I don't charge anything for managing it, so  every penny donated goes to the SOC Fund!  I use that money to pay the Internet provider and the GB provider.  Some of it helps pay for the little extras provided at each reunion.  I have a receipt for every ck written and there are two names on the ckng acct.  Mine & Don Fugate.  Just in case anything happens to me, Donnie has access to the acct and he knows the access codes & passwords to the site & GB.  I'm a fairly conservative person and I guard that money in the SOC acct just as closely as I do my own ckng!  When I do our reunions, I spend hours/days on the pho and in person trying to find the best deal for our money and the vendor that will provide us with the most for our dollars.  There is info on our Donations pg as to where to send donations.  Always make cks payable to "SOC '66 Reunion Fund" not to me.  Just thought I'd put this out there in light of several people asking about sending in donations.  The books are always open to anyone who wd like to review them.  [thumb]

Once again, Mr. Smith, you have summed up the idiocy that is us. As the wise man said, "you can't make a blanket longer by cutting off one end and sewing it back on the other end".

OK, let's see if I understand this time change thing. We set our clocks ahead one hour, so when I get up at 6:00, it's really 5:00; therefore, I can go back to sleep and get an extra hour's zzzzzzzs; however, I will be late for church since it will be 10:00 and not 9:00 which means my coffee will be cold since I set the timer for 7:30 and it will be 6:30 and sat for 2.5 hours. THAT ABOUT IT FOLKS?

JD is the winner, tada . I have been living in COLORADO for seventeen years now and at last Space City comes 20 to the pack. Last Tue. I got tangled up with an automatic door, just after leaving Space City and fell. I banged up my right knee and very small crack to the side of my old skull. Spent two days in the hospital.  Home now , and yes Spock us humans can now find Space City on our on.

J.D. I can't begin to comprehend what y'all go thru in a single winter!!  Weatherman other night said we have had 51 or 52 (don't remember exact #) days of 32 or below this winter, an excess for us. THEN, he said some place in MN has had about 50 or so day of BELOW ZERO this winter!  Yikes!

Hey JD, if you didn't make that earlier post, PLEASE let me know & I'll delete it. I don't tolerate those who make remarks but won't own up to it.  It's especially bad if you use someone else's name.  I don't always agree with, or even like, what may be posted here, but it's a free forum and a little common sense goes a long way.  That being said, it doesn't give someone the right to abuse the GB or anyone else who posts here.  Its been about 6 yrs or so since we had a few rogue anon posters who were making bad comments on here.  That's why I changed the GB, as this GB makes it much easier to determine/track the IP address and to block the poster if necessary.

JD - Let me know kiddo.  Was it you or an imposter!?

SNL...I don't believe the last post with my name on it as I normally sign in with J.D. (periods) if you don't see a difference..

However, having said that...this has been a BRUTAL winter. Our frost line is 5 feet under the surface. It is normally about 1.5 - 2 ft on a normal bad winter...with some as close to the surface as 6 ".
And to my friend Jack...I deeply ( as in snow bound) apologize for not responding to your question on shoveling. First I don't do any snow removal at all any more...but have a 1 year old John Deer 28 inch snow blower with electric start for sale if you need one.

To give you some idea about this winter...1. It has been brutally cold, hence the deep frost line. 2. 50-60 days below freezing with 33 of those below ZERO...nada...nothing...cold as (POOP). 3. Kathy & I live on a corner with sidewalks that are 3 ft wide x 103 feet long. 4. We have a oversized double drive way. 5. So to get to your answer...in a round about way... 6. We have snowdrifts of 5 feet on both sides of the sidewalks with two 10 ft piles at the entrance to our driveway...and finally we have 13 ft drifts on both sides of our driveway with snow falling almost 3-5 times per week at 3-8 inches each time...and seems like eternity. Get me outa here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope that helps Jack...thanks for asking.
