Place: bigd Comments: Speaking of warrants I think Richards joke about Marathons warrants a Ha Ha or a half Ha for the half marathon.
Place: 66erville Comments: I wish you had said something earlier about the marathon thing, Richard. They just ran the Dallas half-marathon. You could have come run in it (or come and thought about running in it) and we would have all come out and jeered you on! You know you should start out slow and work your way into a full marathon. I guess by talking about it, you are starting slow! And a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to John Southworth with wishes for many more. Miss your smiling face and wit, John. I think the Smileys are making a run at Shortcakes staying on the move record. Or there warrants out for you too, Dale??
Place: Sunny in Richardson Comments: Happy B-day JS!!! Hope you are getting your favorite today . . . yellow cake with chocolate icing! Glad to see you are still stopping by our site. Hope you have a great day with many more!!!
Place: Sachse Comments: It was fun reading about Annette's brother and the cool thing he did. I can see why Bob and John and others like them enjoy the thrill of the hunt. Hope your birthday is super cool, John. I'm behind on the GB so I will confirm with Robert that I don't have Windows 8 either. We use a Mac. Happy belated birthday Robert. Looking forward to the mini in April. Hope many can come.
Place: The Woodlands, TX Comments: Richard ... funny you bring up "Smiley". I'll get to tolerate his latest cornball jokes in person tomorrow morning over a cuppa joe. Then he heads back west to face a root canal and I deal with saying goodbye to my 68th year. I hope life in "Kali" and the stock market are treating you well!
Place: Calif. Comments: Hey Southworth, it's funny you bring up marathons. I've been thinking about running in the LA marathon again this year. I haven't actually run before, but I did think about it before. ( as bad as this joke is, this isn't Smiley, it's me).
Place: Allen, Texas Comments: Annette (my chicken-clucking friend), that is great about your brother being on the news. The only time I was on the news was in the late 1970s. I was in the Gridiron Show. One day, in a publicity stunt to promote the show, I was dressed in costume (silver lame Conrad Birdie suit with white fur chaps, vest, and a 20-gal. black cowboy hat) along with about 5 or 6 girls dressed as "happy" hookers parading on Commerce Street in downtown Dallas. We ended up being the background on the weather forecast on Channel 8 news that evening That was fun. I have not met your brother. I see him on Facebook and he seems like a nice guy. I can say with confidence that he has a wonderful sister.
Place: Allen, Texas Comments: Jack, don't worry about the "d" you put in my name. People have called me Rodney in the past. My in-laws called me Randy for a long time. I think the Swedish spelling (Ronney) confuses people. Don't know when my mother every went to Sweden to learn that. For decades, I felt unique with that spelling. When I worked at Ericsson, suddenly I was surrounded by many Swedes named "Ronney." LOL Besides Rodney and Randy, I have been called many other names...most of which cannot be repeated here. Haha!!
Place: The Woodlands Comments: ... make that Donna Riley "Pratley" ...
Place: The Woodlands, TX Comments: Dang Rick, now I've got to go Google "decretive platform"? Sounds rather high-tech. Dale Smiley slipped into town for a few days and we had breakfast this morning at Denny's. I got to catch up on the "Farm & Ranch" almanac. Also, got a nice secret (non-political) Facebook message from Donna Riley Pratt today. And that got me thinking ... had she and Dale somehow married, would her name have become Donna Riley-Smiley? That's just scary. [Just kidding, Yuvonne ... just kidding] [Just kidding, Donna ... just kidding]
Place: bigD Comments: Jack, I built a decretive platform on the wall outside the conference room to hold three TV sets that will show powerpoint displays of the buildings the architect has designed and built. No I haven't been to that radio shop, I don't know where I got his card. Today I'm off to lay a wood floor in my daughters house.
Place: Coppell Comments: Ahh Spring has sprung. Sarah and I worked in the front flower beds for five hours yesterday. Of course we forgot we are not in our 30's and we have aching places we never knew we had; however, the front of the house is looking great. All we need to do is plant Knock Out Roses to give our house the curb appeal., Sarah to re-pod her plants and me spreading the first of two weed and feed for this Spring. Love working outdoors.
Place: 66erville Comments: Rick, you know I'm not rushing you, just checking. I know about that taking care of Mom stuff. I took the radio guts to the guy you suggested and put a down payment. He told me his chief repairman had been out sick and was about three months behind. So I am just waiting. You ever been to his place? What an experience. What the heck is a video wall??
Place: bigD Comments: Jack, I haven't had time to work on it but I promise I will soon. I am taking care of Mom and installing a video wall for a architect in downtown Dallas. How is the progress on that console radio?
Place: Richardson Comments: You are so right John! I was thinking of Virginia Macon's bro Larry. He's the marathon guy. But still very proud of you & Bob and the good work you do. You know what they always say, "Find a job that you enjoy doing and it will seem like play!" Too bad this job obsession doesn't provide a paycheck, or you'd be rich! |
