Place: Oregun Comments: They are tasty, get them fattened up and BBQ them.
Place: Richardson Comments: Honestly, I think the little critters are cute and I would never kill or harm one. But they are eating me out of bird seed!! I have now bought a cute bird feeder and I put it j-u-s-t out of reach of the squirrel. He gets in the big bush but can't quiet reach it. Once he jumped for it and it threw him off!! LOl Now all he gets is the spillage on the ground from the feeder. My squirrel story. When we lived in the apts for several years Don was helping his mom in Hstn by agreeing to sell her car for her. We drove it up here and it was under the covered parking all winter. In spring he was cleaning it up getting ready to sell it. After washing it he raised the hood and there was a squirrels nest! Yes, under the hood and full of acorns. Guess he found a good winter habitat. I'm sure he was surprised when he returned to find it gone and shortly thereafter the car was sold!
Place: Panola County Comments: I still think the squirrels enjoy the ride to the park and the hike back to the house. The older gentleman that lived behind us would shoot the squirrels and Geneva and our neighbor would toss the carcass back over in his yard. We have been over run with the little critters since he passed. No longer worry about the windows, though.
Place: Cypress springs Comments: They got into one of the houses here...fortunately got to them before they did very much damage.....they were isolated in one location....but chewed up wiring in there.
Place: Coppell Comments: Looks like a typo but the word is d a r n.
Place: Coppell Comments: Interesting you should say that about wiring Shortcake. Sarah's car was parked out in the front of our house. It sat for weeks as we always took my van. She got in her car to go shopping and it would not start. We tried a new battery, starter, ignition switch and nothing worked. Finally had it towed to Van Chervolet in Carrollton. The service manager took a picture of the underneath and sure enough squirrels had chewed the wiring. Can't trust the darn critters.
Place: Cypress Springs Comments: Sorry guys I thought I posted that Chris' daughter had passed away. I saw it on FB and thought I said something. Still chasing Squirrels huh Sandy? It is a never ending project. They multiple faster then rabbits. We get rid of them at the lake one year and the next year we seem to have twice as many. And if you are not careful they will chew through the wiring around your house.
Place: Lazy S Ranch Comments: of course I have a squirrel story: Once I was at Glendale Park and caught a squirrel and was holding him by the neck while trying to get on my bicycle when an officer of the law drove up. He asked what I was going to do with the squirrel and I said "you really don't want to know" He kinda knew what I had in mind and so said to me "whatever you do to that innocent, beautiful animal, I'm going to do to you!" I said " Well I thought I would just kiss his butt and let him go". I stayed away from the park for the next few days.
Place: Richardson Comments: I think you're right Toni! I read on Google that squirrels are very territorial. It also said they will fight each other over a territory and move in on another squirrel's territory if they run him off. I think I'm moving them to another territory and another squirrel is taking over!! It's a thankless job that apparently has no end!
Place: Garland USA Comments: So sorry to hear about Chris Del Regno's daughter, Michelle. It is never right to have to bury our children. My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family. SNL....I suggested you mark those critters! I think they are just messing with you now!!! ![]()
Place: Richardson Comments: Tired today. Saturday we left here about 2:00pm, stopped by Lake Highlands to pickup brother & sis-n-law and headed to Crawford, TX. Our cousin was celebrating 50 yrs of marriage! Great party!! It was in the Community Center and about 100 plus people. All my cousins and their spouses were there except for two. Fun night, long drive, about midnight when we got home. Today a Noon we were in Plano for a HS graduation party for Don's cousin's dtr. Now I'm tired and think I'll go lay down and watch my favorite Channel . . . Food Network!
Place: KC, MO Comments: Today I've been thinking about all of the brave Americans who participated in the D-Day invasion, and also about my Uncle Max, who was a radio operator in France during World War II. I've shed more than one tear for those brave patriots.
Place: Soc 65 Comments: SNL yes that was Chris DelRegno's daughter. I talk to Chris a lot on FBook. His beautiful daughter passed on May 30th. She had recently finished radiation to the brain, but bless her she did not make it. She was a talented Special Needs teacher, and loved by many. Chris was from our 65 class.
Place: Richardson Comments: Annette, is this Chris Del Regno's dtr and our Ann's niece? How very sad.
Place: The Woodlands Comments: It is so sad to hear of the tragic loss of the beloved Michelle Del Regno. The Del Regno family members are so wonderful and close. It is hard to go before your children. |
