Comments: SNL, If you will have Don take a razor blade and shave off a small piece of the "culprit" that has caused you so much trouble, I will analyze it and Southworth and I will make a diagnosis and generate a solution to your problem. Us doctors can tell a lot from a good stool sample.
Place: The Woodlands Comments: Sandy it is so good to hear you are out of pain and back to enjoying yourself. Also so very good to know Smokey is getting better. Prayers for a complete recovery.
Place: Richardson Comments: Thanks Barb! You're right, that stool seems to be at the center when bad things happen! It was the culprit when it flipped me off with 2 glass gal jars in my hands! Of course that resulted in me knocking 2 holes in my head! This time, after stretching way too far to reach a back item, I stepped down and whamy. . . the back pain hit me! Don't think it was the stool's fault this time. But I'm feeling good now and back to on-the-go! I'm going to keep making reminder posts because not everyone reads the GB everyday and I want everyone to be aware of the upcoming Mini and BMF Golf Outing! Place: Richardson Comments: After a grueling 9 days my back is much better. Thank you for your concern and good wishes. Sunday I told Don I had to get out of the house, so we went to our Dollar movie theater. I wanted to see Godzilla! I remember seeing it the first time some 50 +++ yrs ago at the Lisbon theater. Man was I scared. The cinematography and special effects were much better this time! ![[eek]](/images/boards/smilies/eek.gif "Eek - :eek:") Scared the heck out of me . . . again! Don't forget to mark your calendars for our Mini scheduled for Sept 27th @ the Hyatt in Richardson. Same hotel we used back in April and have used several other times too. I hope all of you coming in for the BMF Golf Outing on Sept 26th will stick around and have fun with us on the 27th!! Place: Garland USA Comments: Sandy, sorry to hear about your back. Hope you are feeling better. I have a cure for that and will give you the info the next time we talk. Just checking in on the group...it's been a long day after almost being blown out of bed during the middle of the night by the horrible thunder and lightning! We got more rain during the night than we've received all year. Now if we could just capture this "October" weather and spread it sparingly throughout the rest of the summer weeks to come! Sending well wishes for all those in need...later!

Place: Richardson Comments: Thanks JS!! I was pretty much out of commission Fri afternoon thru Monday, but have been moving s-l-o-w-l-y yesterday and today. I'm not one to lay around and do nothing but haven't had a choice recently. I'm hoping by tmo I can do a few errands. At least I can now sit for a while at the PC. Interesting about the old friend who turned out to be Don Brunson's sister!! As we always find out . . . our land of Oak Cliff and SOCites is small and we all have connections to one another.
Place: The Woodlands, TX Comments: SNL, your back condition concerns me greatly so I consulted with the Class of '63's in-house physician (Dr. Proctor). His bill was pretty steep but the advice was right on target. His prescription is "Move the dang Folgers to that middle shelf!". In the "Small World" Department, I recently acquired a new Facebook friend whom I used to work with at Blue Cross way back in the 1970's. To my surprise her older brother is Don Brunson. Somehow during those years I never knew she was an Oak Cliff girl. Bonita (Brunson) put in 2 yrs. at SOC then graduated from Adamson in '70. She also has an older sister Valerie who was a Sophomore at SOC the year you guys graduated. Sandy, take it easy for the next 6 months. Tell Don which end of the mop hits the floor and where the toilet bowl brush is kept and let him take charge for awhile. Get better!
Place: Richardson Comments: Thanks Karen, it will get a little better each day, just can't rush it. I don't sit for very long. I'm concerned about your bro Gary. Where does he live? Somewhere in the area? Where will he get treatment? I'm hoping it is close so he can have you and your family's full support. It wasn't the results we were praying for, but there is still lots of good hope and good reason to fight! Prayers will continue for Charles, Smokey, Gary and others in our group.
Place: Sachse Comments: Oh my goodness, Sandy. What a miserable situation to be in with your back out. I sure hope you can get relief and healing quickly. Thinking about our good buddy Charles and continuing prayers for his recovery. Hoping for continued improvement for Smokey as well. Thanks to all my sweet friends and classmates for the kind comments and most especially for the prayers for my brother Gary. The diagnosis was not great but not without hope. The tests they did still have not identified the origination of the cancer that is in his neck lymph node (they are only certain that it is not the origination). The doctor classified his tumor as stage 4A, due to not knowing the exact origination and thus not being able to directly pinpoint that area. The doctor did insist, however, that this was NOT a death sentence and that they would use the best means at their disposal to treat and try to eradicate the cancer. My brother will decide which combination of treatment he wants to persue after he has one more consultation later this week. Thanks again for your prayers. |
