Place: Carthage, Texas Comments: Quick update on some past medical issues. I had a Mild Heart Attack on the last Friday in January. I was in UT Health Carthage for a day waiting on a room and was transferred by ambulance on Saturday the 29th to UT Health East Texas in Tyler. They did tests on Sunday and had me wear a heart monitor. After a few hours with the monitor my heart beat cratered and they decided I needed a pacemaker. Pacemaker operation was on February 8th as day surgery. I really do feel better and seem to not be as tired. All is good now and back up and going.
Place: Richardson Comments: Thanks John. i hope Ann didn't hurt her knee leaning over that washboard. Wishing Ann Hoose a safe surgery and a full recovery. Gotta get back to practicing those "Deb" kicks! Hopefully you're up and around soon kiddo!
Place: The Woodlands, TX Comments: It is February 23rd and I'm sipping my morning coffee and monitoring the SOC "grapevine". The buzz is that at 9:30 today, young Ann Hoose is undergoing knee replacement surgery! An almost reliable source says that in lieu of get-well cards and candy, she could benefit from a new Washing Machine. Perhaps her former "washboard" finally rusted out? But you didn't hear it from me.
Place: Plano Comments: Thought I would check in today. I’m at Texas Oncology today for my monthly imunity , I V I G. Sorry I missed the birthdays, hope y’all had a great one. I hope all are doing well, Rusty, it doesn’t sound t good about 7 degrees. Take care all of you
Place: Richardson Comments: Today, Fri, after 4 days of ice & cold temps the sun came out and it's Texas again! Beautiful blue skies and all the yucky stuff is gone. Ada Ann & Rusty, I saw on the news tonight where up in Ada's area ,NH, and along the upper east it is minus degrees everywhere and that's the real temps! Some were -20 to -30 degrees and the wind chill was unbelievable. Geez, I can't imagine what that would be like. Ada Ann & Rusty, y'all please be safe & try to stay warm. Hopefully spring isn't far off.
Place: NH Comments: Right now, our temperature is -6 and it feels like -30. Needless to say, I'm not going outside!
Place: Mancos, Co Comments: Frozen?? At 7;00, the temp is at 7 degrees in Mancos
Place: Frozen landscape in Richardson Comments: Outside ice but at least this go round we all have power and heat!! Weather Station for Richardson says it's 34 and our outdoor temp gauge says it's 36 . . . why isn't this ice melting off the trees!!?? If not soon some limbs may start cracking and breaking. Tomorrow and sunshine can't come soon enough. Hope all my SOC friends have power and are able to stay warm.
Place: Richardson Comments: Hi Sue! Good to see you here. This is our class Guestbook. It's more private than FB. If you will scroll down the GB posts to the bottom you'll see "SOC 66 Home Page". Click and you'll go directly to our website home page and from there you will find tabs for all our pics from reunions and a bunch of Minis. I hope you'll come back here often to post. Our direct URL for our class site is: www.soc1966.com
Place: Houston, Texas Comments: I am new to this - just retired - finally. Where is the site that Sandy administered. It had pictures that I loved.
Place: Richardson Comments: I saw the info this morning. Richard, you've been busy!
Place: Arlington & Uvalde TX Comments: I was able to obtain the current mailing addresses of 22 members of SOC’s Class of 1966 which did not have current addresses in the printed roster published for the 50th Reunion. I’ve forwarded the information to Sandy Lynn on January 26, 2023.
Place: Richardson Comments: Larry, I'm sorry to hear your wife got Covid and y'all were isolated at Christmas. But good to hear she's much better and you didn't catch it. Yes, I too am hopeful for a Spring Mini. Maybe late March or April. Will be good to see everyone again.
Place: Denton Comments: Great seeing all the updates, I do not check as often as I should. Been a rough end of 2022. My wife came down with a mild case of COV19 in December and had to cancel our Christmas get togethers. So far I was able to avoid getting it. My wife is finally over but is still not fully back to herself. Hopefully we can have a mini get together soon.
Place: Sachse Comments: Happy Birthday Toni and Sally!! Sorry I'm late. |
