Place: Richardson Comments: Sammy - thanks for the personal tip. I have some saline spray but only use it when I think about it, but do use my expensive prescription spray twice a day. Beginning today I will use saline 3-4 times a day and see if it warts off the sinus infections. BTW - Mario & Barbara did say early on they were coming to the Mini. They moved in a few blocks from us when they moved back to Dallas. Think they are renting until can decide where they want to live. Well, we had new carpet put in down stairs & all the steps on Saturday, took 8 hrs! 3 of them worked very hard all day and never took a lunch break! It went in the dinning rm, living rm, master bdrm & closet and the short closet under the stairwell. It's like moving Twice! But also everything downstairs is now covered with a layer of carpet dust!! Well, not anymore. We worked hard last night to clean it up and then this morning put all the stuff back in that darn short closet. Man I'm tired, just about did me in. But of course there's still those little twigs of carpet that keep appearing. So when you come to the Mini, if you see some of those darn twigs on the floor . . . just pick 'em up & put 'em in the trash for me, OK?
Place: Lake Tawakoni Comments: Sandy, I used to have the same sinus problems. My family doctor told me to start using OTC Saline spray. Three shots in each nostril 3-4 times daily. He asked me if I ever saw an ENT doctor when we visited all the beaches during the summer. I said no and he said that's because of the salt sea air. That was 9 years ago and I never had a sinus problem since. Doctor Smith
Place: Garland USA Comments: Just checking in and catching up! Wow, have we have enough of winter or what? I am so ready for Spring. Sandy, sorry to hear you've been ill. Hope you are feeling a lot better by now! See you soon!

Place: Dry Oregun Comments: Jack, usually we have wet winters and snow in the mtns but we have been getting milder and milder winters for some time now. The ski resorts probably won't open again this year and most of them have only been open a few days. The one advantage I will have this summer is the low water n the rivers, it will make fly fishing really good, there will be lots of bugs out. I catch and release so I should have fun catching lots of trout. I will make the same offer to you that I made to SNL, bring up as much snow and rain as you want, I won't have any problem selling it here. Hope you are doing OK and take care.
Place: Raining againville Comments: You are correct, Jim. In a few weeks we probably be begging for rain, but is the choice to get it all at one time or none at all? It's not that I'm against the rain, it's just I NEED some sunshine. More than 2 weeks without seeing the sun gets this Texas boy down. Sorry you are having a bad time, SNL. Maybe you should go get your sinus packed. Funny, Rod, I never thought about the Northwest having a water shortage. Between the snow and the rain, I think of it wet and green. Coldest, wettest I have ever been in June was at Fort Lewis waiting to ship out to Nam. No sun. Rain almost all day. lived in my field jacket. Ahhhh, memories!
Place: Richardson Comments: Thanks Rod. Today is first day I've been able to stay up all day and I'm beginning to feel like I've got it whipped. Should be full speed by Monday. We need the rain so bad . . . I'm so tired of only being able to water my lawn twice a month during the summer!! It's a shame the East got all the snow and out West/ski slopes are hurting for it.
Place: Oregun Comments: Sorry you are still under the weather but it sounds like you are on the mend. I wish we had your rain and especially the snow, our snow pack in non-existant so we will be looking at a lot of forest fires and low water levels in the rivers and lakes. Feel free to send some my way or you and Don can bring it up here. Stay on the mend and get feeling better.
Place: Richardson Comments: No vacation, been really sick for the last 2 wks. Started as sinus problems, then developed into infection and Bronchitis. Oh my, I've coughed so hard I thought I'd busted a rib or two. Today, 2 wks to-the-day, I'm on the road to recovery. We are promised sunshine for tmo, Sat & Sun. Please let the weatherman be right this time! I'm so tired of the rain, sleet, snow and clouds!! I'm really looking forward to seeing all of you for the Mini, really tired of being inside and it so dark outside.
Place: Panola County Comments: Jack - What bright light in the sky?? We will be begging for rain in the next several weeks/months.
Place: Oregun Comments: Thanks Jack. We've had such a mild winter that the ski areas are not open, one is but loosing snow fast. The snow pack in the mtns is the lowest on record so it looks like we will have low lakes and rivers this summer. I would like to see a lot of snow fall in the mtns and rain here in the valley but I rarely get what I ask for, especially weather.
Place: Lake Tawakoni Comments: Sarah and I are still "suffering " from Jet Lag. The only down side to spending a week in St. Thomas is the 6 hour flight back and two time zones. Then day light savings time two days later. So, we have been sleeping until 9:00, but it's really 11:00 in St Thomas and now it's really 8:00 in Texas. So, having lunch then going back to bed..... or having frozen margaritas, or....... You get the picture folks. Good night?
Place: Mudville Comments: No, Rod. I think we are cutting the webbing from between our toes and hiding from that bright light in the sky. Talking heads said last night that we have had rain for 15 of the last 17 days and had received 4.3 inches of rain. More than in January and February combined. Good news is almost all the lakes have come up, still not to "normal" but UP. Maybe spring is creeping in after all. Maybe we will be playing volleyball in SNL yard at the mini!
Place: Oregun Comments: OK, so is Texas closed or has everyone gone on vacation ?
Place: Sunny Richardson Comments: Glad y'all made it in and got home Ok considering that's when all the snow was falling, right after midnight. The pics you posted on FB were wonderful. Made me long for going back to the Islands again as I sat here looking at sleet, snow & ice!! It's shaping up to be a good mini with good attendance. Really looking forward to seeing everyone after a long cold winter!!! |
