Place: Richardson Comments: Tanya, I'm so sorry to hear you are having so many seizures. I too had high hopes the last surgery would keep them at bay. Yesterday afternoon wanted to turn on TV & watch Family Feud at 3:00. Much to my surprise . . . no signal on TV. Darn AT&T! Decided to go check em . . . no internet connect. Darn AT&T! After waiting 30 min & couldn't get any connection I picked up my landline pho to call them . . . no dial tone. Grrrrrr!! We sat on the patio and had a drink, read every word of the paper and finally at 9:30, went to bed! Of course I was up at 5:45am bec I went to bed so early. But at least they fixed it overnight.
Place: SOC 65 Comments: Thank you Sandy. Hope you have a great time at the SOC Ladies Luncheon. I can no longer attend those, as I am not allowed to drive the distance any further much less drive much in the Texoma area due to again, too many seizures. They are happening much too frequently now and go with the territory with the brain tumor that is growing once again. I really cannot go to many SOC functions any more due to the problem above, as even excitement over an event can bring one on. I had hoped that this old tumor would dry up, but it's not in my hands. Have a wonderful time and hug the girls for me. Much love sent your way my friend.
Place: Richardson Comments: Tanya - No problem with you making posts. Our SOC Friends span across many yrs and not just 66. In fact, I'm going to the SOC Girls luncheon next month to see all my friends from 63 - 66. Thanks Ronney. I just wanted you & anyone else who may have wondered if I pay money out of the SOC Fund for Minis or other things. No, I do not. I'm very stingy with that money because it gives us an advantage when it comes reunion time. It helps keep our reunion costs as low as possible and allows me to provide a few "extras" to all the group. . . such as photographers, decorations, directories, etc. It also allows me to pay a big deposit required by the hotel in advance without paying it out of my own pocket bec at that time not everyone has paid their registration fees. I keep a separate checking acct just for our SOC Reunion Fund & I guard it like a mother hen! ![[smile]](/images/boards/smilies/smile.gif "Smile - :)") It's not MY money, it's belongs to YOU & EVER PERSON who has donated to the fund. Y'all have entrusted me to take care of it and I want to make sure I do it properly. For the Fall Mini I'll try to get us back to the Hyatt. Place: Allen, TX Comments: Sandy, I am glad the minis do not take away from the class funds. But, I still like meeting at someone's house. I know that not everyone would want to host such a large group, though. Saturday was FUN!!
Place: SOC 65 Comments: Sandy, sorry for using your site for information to some of our 65'ers. Jack, Have not been able to locate Michael French, at least from the 40th reunion. You might try googling his name and see what shows up. Again, thanks Sandy, we are able to put in a comment on the 65 site, but it is not posted until it is approved by the committee to post it. Some get posted, some do not.
Place: Richardson Comments: Had a great time yesterday visiting with so many friends! Thanks to everyone who came . . . hope you had a good time too! We had 32 in attendance and it seemed everyone arrived within the first 20 minutes and most everyone stayed until the end. It seemed like the time just flew by! There were some crazy pictures taken and once I get the ones Shotcake sends I'll start posting. Bill Smith also "tried" to take a group photo with all '66ers on the stairway. But have you ever tried herding cats?? ![[rolleyes]](/images/boards/smilies/rolleyes.gif "Roll Eyes - :rolleyes:") Then you 'll know what I'm talking about! ![[rofl]](/images/boards/smilies/rofl.gif "Rofl - :lol:") I hope to get his photos too.Ronney, the Minis I put together have no affect whatsoever on our SOC Funds. I never book any place that wants to charge us. That's why I use hotel bars . . . no fees! Most hotels are pretty full Sun evening until Fri morning with business travelers, but on Saturday afternoon the hotel & bar are dead (unless there is a big event in town). That's why I have to make special arrangements for them to open the bar at 2:00 rather than their usual 4pm. It does not take any funds away from our SOC Reunion Fund. The liquor, beer, food, etc. at my house were furnished by Don & I.
Place: dry backyards Comments: Golden Bears, the Rain Gods got me Saturday. Eight weeks of rain have me weeks behind on the pool projects. I hoped to stop by, but never had a break in the day. See you this fall. Sandy

Place: Allen, TX Comments: Sandy, really enjoyed the get-together at your house, today. Thanks for opening your home to us. I think I like these party at homes more than the hotels. More of us ought to open our homes for these parties. It would certainly save money in our class "funds." No one has to have a fancy house. I am sure others are like me in we don't judge anyone by the home they live in. Perhaps Connie and I can host a get-together sometime, if people do not mind driving to Allen. It's not much farther than going to the hotels in Richardson!!! Thanks again for hosting the party. Was great to see everyone. Glad to see Eileen back at the get-togethers. She is a fun person to be around.
Place: Party is on!!!! Comments: Rick, we do have room, so please come on out. Besides inside, we have a table and about 12 chairs outside in the backyard patio area too. Supposed to be really pretty tomorrow. Just heard from several more people via email that are planning to come. Judy Carpenter said she is coming and bringing Eileen Sandefer!!

Place: SOC 1965 Comments: Fay Pool, I did a search and that is still Jimmie's address, but her last name is spelled Griswold, not with the A. Good luck sweet girl.
Place: SOC 1965 Comments: This is a note to Fay Pool of your class. I noted that she was trying to locate a 1965 classmate. I tried to post the address on 65 website, but they will not allow posts until they are approved to be posted, ??? In any case my last address I had on Jimmie Clark-Griswald was 1725 N 46 CR, Ft. Smith, Arkansas 72904-6635. She may have moved since this address as it was from the directory of our 40th reunion. In any case, you might be able to locate your good friend with a search in Ft. Smith. Good Luck in locating your bestest friend. |
