Darn it was cold and very breezy out today.!!  Anyway, I stopped at the Hilton during my errands today and waited patiently at the bar for the mgr.  When she came over she actually remembered my name ( I left 5 messages) and the two dates I was asking about.  She thought the April 22 date was best for us because on the 15th they have a big gathering of a kids volleyball group and she said they are everywhere!!  The kids aren't in the bar but their parents are! LOL LOL

So here's the info:  April 22, 2023 Spring Mini at the Hilton on the NE corner of Campbell & Hwy 75.  Same place we had last year's Spring Mini and many more back when it was called the Hyatt.  I will post all the details on the Events page later as I'm tired now and need a break. [smile]

Also, she said on Saturday's they now have a Happy Hour from 2 to 4 and an appetizer menu.  I asked her to email it to me and I'll post it along with the invite. Mark your calendar and start making plans to see your friends and have some fun and laughs!

Based on the forecast, maybe I should have put an image of a fireplace instead of spring flowers!  Protect your bedding plants if you have already planted them and bring in your hanging baskets.  Hopefully the last freeze here in the DFW area since Monday is officially Spring.

Yes, I've been trying to get a confirmation for our Spring Mini but after 5 calls and no response, I'm frustrated with the new Food & Beverage Mgr at the Hilton.  I'm about to go up there and see if her boss can help me since the person responsible can't seem to call me back!  Looking at April 15th or 22nd.

It appears our GB is really fixed this time.  That was a weird message that appeared for almost 2-days instead of our GB page. Never had that happen in the many years we've used this.

Early this morning around 3ish the front must have come thru as it was raining and when I got up at 5am, couldn't sleep, it was really coming down.  Now it's cold! But at least sunshine is forecast for the weekend.  TX weather, geez.

Jim, here’s hoping you are doing well and will continue to do so! I can only imagine how scary that must have been. Like I tell everyone, take good care of yourself!

Sandy, I’m glad the powers that keep us together finally got our GB repaired! It took long enough!

James, thank yo for sharing your info with us. Sure glad to read that you got the pacemaker and are doing much better now.  I'm sure that was scary for both you & Geneva.

Glad you will be around for our Spring Mini in late April. [love] I hope to get a definite date by end of week.  Sure would be good to see you two and the elusive Kidds!  Take care of yourself James and really glad you're doing better!

Quick update on some past medical issues. I had a Mild Heart Attack on the last Friday in January. I was in UT Health Carthage for a day waiting on a room and was transferred by ambulance on Saturday the 29th to UT Health East Texas in Tyler. They did tests on Sunday and had me wear a heart monitor. After a few hours with the monitor my heart beat cratered and they decided I needed a pacemaker.
Pacemaker operation was on February 8th as day surgery. I really do feel better and seem to not be as tired.

All is good now and back up and going.

Thanks John.  i hope Ann didn't hurt her knee leaning over that washboard.

Wishing Ann Hoose a safe surgery and a full recovery.  Gotta get back to practicing those "Deb" kicks! [smile]  Hopefully you're up and around soon kiddo! [love]

It is February 23rd and I'm sipping my morning coffee and monitoring the SOC "grapevine". The buzz is that at 9:30 today, young Ann Hoose is undergoing knee replacement surgery! An almost reliable source says that in lieu of get-well cards and candy, she could benefit from a new Washing Machine. Perhaps her former "washboard" finally rusted out? But you didn't hear it from me. [wink]

Today, Fri, after 4 days of ice & cold temps the sun came out and it's Texas again!  Beautiful blue skies and all the yucky stuff is gone.  Ada Ann & Rusty, I saw on the news tonight where up in Ada's area ,NH, and along the upper east it is minus degrees everywhere and that's the real temps! Some were -20 to -30 degrees and the wind chill was unbelievable.  Geez, I can't imagine what that would be like.  Ada Ann & Rusty, y'all please be safe & try to stay warm. Hopefully spring isn't far off.
