Place: Oregun Comments: I know what you mean Sandy, my mind still thinks I'm a lot younger than I really am. I remember asking my Dad when I was a lot younger if I would live until the year 2000 because the thought of getting older didn't register with me. Here we all are nearer to 70 than 60 and still trying to stay young. I've done that in my mind but the body says 'wait a minute', I won't let you do that without some pain. Can't seem to win. Thanks for the kind words, Rod
Place: Richardson Comments: Thank you Toni! It was driving me crazy not being able to remember who the other person was. It was Mary Elliot.
Place: Richardson Comments: Rod, I'm sorry for the many loses that have come your way lately. It appears it's inevitable as we get older we begin to lose those around us. Sometimes I struggle because I can't grasp the concept that I'm as old as I am and I deeply miss those who have left my life. But, we are resilient and we pull it together and get on with life the best we can. We never "get over" a great loss in life, we simply "get through it" and do our best to live the life we are given. OK, enough philosophy. Be well my friends and don't forget about our Mini Get-Together on 9-26. See the Events page for all the details. Please come see me . . . you never know when one of us may not be here the next time!
Place: Melissa USA Comments: Catching up.... Sandy, the other person at Billie Henrie's service was Mary Elliott! Shortcake, if you stay put long enough we can go to lunch for our birthdays...remember that invitation? Whenever you're in town! Love, love, love the rain we got! I think Fall is just around the corner...and I'm ready!
Place: Oregun Comments: There has been much sadness in our class lately, far more than we need or want. Since my sister passed I have has a family friend pass and our 92 year old neighbor pass so I am hoping that is it for a long tine. Hope everyone is OK.
Place: Richardson Comments: What can I say except, another tough day for one of our classmates. Today, Charles Moss and his Mom laid to rest Charles' sister, Linda Smith. It was a nice service, but difficult for both of them. Please keep both Charles and Ada Ann in your prayers as they grieve for their loved ones.
Place: Richardson Comments: Yesterday was one of those days when you are sad but, at the same time, you find some joy in those around you. I attended the services and then graveside service for Billie Henrie, Ada Ann's mom. Also there, Toni, Don & Barb, Adrienne Cain & her sister and one other Socite, and for the life of me, I can't remember her name, sorry. It was a beautiful service and there were lots of hugs all around. Thank you God for wonderful SOC friends. Ada Ann & Joe flew in late Fri and left Sunday morning. God Bless them in their travels.
Place: cypress springs Comments: Love to see them.
Place: Oregun Comments: Send me your e-mail address and I will sent some photos I have of Oregon. It's as pretty as any state I've been to, pretty much something for everyone.
Place: Cypress Springs Comments: We were just talking about branching out and going to some other places. We have been to Colorado for quite a few years...I need some different pictures!
Place: Oregun Comments: Karen, we are all allowed an off day once in a while. It was their loss but you know, when you were off in your motorhome you could have swung through Oregon and I would have asked you to lunch.
Place: Cypress Spring Comments: Sorry about yesterday - bad day and took it out on everyone else. Promise it will not happen again! Chalk it up to stress I guess. Hey I made a rhyme!!!!
Place: Cypress Springs Comments: Got back Tuesday of last week. All it takes is an invitation ....if I am in town I can make it ...if not I can not.
Place: Richardson Comments: That's right Shortcake, it was a hop, skip & jump for me to get to McKinney. A hop & skip for Toni and a bunny hop for Linda! Besides, you are always on the road. The 3 of us spent almost 5 hrs sitting and talking. And yes, we tipped well because we took up the space.
Place: Der Grosvenor, Texas Comments: Shortcake, Since you want to hear about lunch I can report that Yuvonne and I had lunch today with Dave and Adair McDermott at a super nice Italian restaurant in Coleman, Texas. A fine time was had by all. The Greek salad was spicy but delicious. |
