Place: Richardson Comments: Carol, I'm so sorry for the loss of your Mom. Even though she was a little over 100 and you may have expected it . . . doesn't make it any easier. God Bless you and I pray God gives you the strength to get thru this difficult time. I'm sorry for your loss.
Place: Overland Park, KS Comments: Momma passed away on February 6th. We took her to her beloved hometown - Humansville, MO - for burial on February 10th. Momma was to the day 100 and 1/2 years old when she left us. I guess that should make losing her easier, but somehow it doesn't. Wish that I could turn back time. Love to all - Carol
Place: Richardson Comments: Just got 1st list of those making hotel reservations for the reunion. We have 9 couples who booked Fri & Sat nights, plus a few are staying longer bec they want to visit family and it's a good rate. Remember - - Easiest way to book is thru the link I provided on our 50th Reunion page. If you click that link all the codes are already keyed into it! All you do is chose the arrival/departure dates, # of people staying in the room and then click "Check Availability". This link is just for us, no need to type in any codes! Heck, even I did it . . . can't be too hard!
Place: Richardson Comments: Great to hear people are making plans and hotel reservations!! It's going to be a good one - - Be There or Be Square!
Place: Lake Tawakoni Comments: Hey guys, we made our hotel reservations for both Friday night and Saturday night. September will be here before you know it. Shirley, So glad Y'all can be there with us and the rest of the Motley Crew.
Place: Richardson Comments: Hey Shirley & Marvin - Happy to hear you plan to attend our 50th!! We always love having the younger crowd hangin' out with us! The invites will go out to the '66ers, but as soon as they are mailed (about 1st of May) I will put a link on our 50th Reunion page with an invite & a registration form. You can download and print the info, or, just make a copy of Sam & Sarah's info, whatever is easiest. Look forward to meeting you guys as I've heard so many nice things about you from Sam & Sarah. We do get lots of classmates from other years attending, so I always put accessible info on the website for anyone not getting an invite. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm getting excited about September!!
Place: Houston, TX Comments: Hello everyone! My hubby (Marvin Mullins) and I graduated from SOC in 67. We plan to attend the 50th reunion in September. Looking forward to spending time with our besties Sammy and Sarah Smith and reconnecting with others. Will someone please tell me how to get an invite mailed to us? We've already reserved a room for both nights. Thanks!
Place: Richardson Comments: Here's a funny - we played it low-key Sat night. Came home and watched 2 old episodes of the Closer. But - Sun morning we were at my brother's house by 8:40am and all of us went to breakfast at a great little place about 3 blocks from his house there in Lake Highlands. It is a great place for breakfast & they said it's good for lunch & dinner. New owners took over a few months ago. It's called "Neighbors " at the SW corner of Walnut Hill & Audelia. Guess what? They serve Mimosas at breakfast!! I had chicken & waffles & 2 Mimosas. If the rest of their menu is as good as our breakfast, I'll go over there just for the great food. Those Mimosas were outstanding!!
Place: Melissa TX Comments: Happy Anniversary Sandy and Don! We'll have to try the Italian restaurant!
Place: Richardson Comments: Don & I celebrated our Anniversary Sat night rather than on our actual Anniversary, which is 2-14. We learned early on that it is too crowded & not very enjoyable to wait for a table on V-Day. We tried a new place here in Richardson, Leon's Italian Restaurant on the NE corner of Campbell & Plano Rd. It was good food & the Garlic Bread was scrumptious! Good place - try it.
Place: Richardson Comments: Heard fro Linda Cash and they plan to attend Saturday night at the reunion, can't make it Fri. Funny thing . . . she was reading old GB notes and saw where I mentioned us going to Alvin's All '60's Reunion last Fall. Said her husband went to SMU with someone from Alvin & he became a longtime friend of theirs. He also went to the reunion. Lo and behold, it's one of Don's classmates!! The SOC reach never ceases to amaze me!
Place: Richardson Comments: I figured out how to put music on the site. Now, when you go to the 50th Reunion page to read about the reunion . . . you can listen to a great song! Maybe I'll put a song on some of the other pages too.
Place: Calif. Comments: Well Jack that's a tough one if I'm limited to the current group(s) now running. My sense is there's only one Republican that's electable on a national scale; John Kasich. On the other side I doubt the Bern is electable on a national scale. So, if it comes down to Hillary and Kasich (he may drop out), I may have to flip a coin, or lean towards Clinton. I find Hillary hard to like, but capable I suspect. I'd most likely vote a "defensive" move to the Dems just to keep the Republicans out of office; the party is a disaster right now. I still call myself a Republican but I can't support them for the time being. Now if you're saying I can pick "anyone"....I suppose Larry David. He wouldn't get anything done, but it would be fun getting nowhere.
Place: 66erville Comments: Hey, Robo-toes, do you have a note to get you through airports? Even with your shoes off you may set off the metal detectors! Are you taking up soccer? Glad to hear Marvin is coming. It will be good to see him again. Richard, I know you told me you have no interest in politics. IF you could pick the next POTUS, who would it be??
Place: Calif. Comments: Don't know what you mean SNL. A foul-mouthed arrogant, NYC billionaire real estate developer going against an over-the-hill self-proclaimed socialist; and both getting support. What's weird about that? |
