Place: Richardson Comments: Rick - I appreciate you letting me know of the passing of SOC Metal Shop teacher, James Robinson. It wasn't until about 8 or 9 days after you told me that I was able to do it. But I did get it updated. TNX. Don's eyes are doing so good! He is seeing things he hasn't seen in years. He said he can't remember when his eyesight was this good. I'm so happy for him bec it had gotten really bad the last 4-5 yrs.
Place: 66erville Comments: I too remember Gary Fain. What is the Shirley connection, Sam? Tell Shirley I look forward to meeting her and have a gift for her (if I can remember to bring it to the reunion)
Place: Richardson Comments: Don & I have lived here in far East Richardson for 8 yrs. We really like it here and the City of Richardson is really great with residential services. We've seen some small hail, pea size, over the yrs, but nothing that damaged anything or was cause for concern. However, that on 3-23. We got hail late about 10:35pm. Lots of it but kind of marble size and not too bad as far as wind goes. Then, Apr 11th the 2nd hail storm hit and it was a doozy. Big hail and high wind.... lots of damage! Wylie as hit hardest. Now weather forecasters are telling us a severe storm is expected her with large hail & very high wind. Geeze, not much left of our roof right now, concerned for our area and really worried about people in Wylie who are still without windows and holes in their roofs.
Place: Richardson Comments: Yes, I remember Gary Fain from SOC. He's listed in our 45th directory as living in NC.
Place: Lake Tawakoni Comments: I received a text from Shirley Mullins last night. Do any of you remember a Gary Fain and/or brother Glenn? Thanks
Place: Richardson Comments: LOL Sorry Shirley - - That's Sandy Norman Lynn. We all kinda have a moniker here on the GB. That nickname was given to me by a good friend quiet a few years ago and it stuck. I think he was eluding to the premise that I reminded him of the crazy show, Saturday Night Live!
Place: Houston, TX Comments: Excuse me....I'm new on here.....who is SNL from Richardson if I may ask? Thank you.
Place: Richardson Comments: Shirley, there are several people from our '66 class whose spouses are from '67, so you should see friends from your class. Once the invites go out I start posting names of those who have registered. You can tell who's coming by looking at the list. Don't worry, our '66 group are a friendly bunch and we always have SOCites from other years attend our reunions. Look forward to having you party with us!
Place: Houston, TX Comments: Hubby (Carl Marvin Mullins...Moon to me) and myself are planning to attend (Lord willing) SOC's 50th reunion for the 66 graduating class in September. I am hoping that SOMEONE will remember at least one of us. We both graduated in 1967. Are good (besties) friends with Sammy and Sarah Smith and will be coming with them so that at least two people will speak to us. I am hoping other 67 grads will show up. Does anyone know of any others??? Be kind in your response as we are old now and easily get our feelings hurt. Hoping to hear from SOMEONE before the reunion.
Place: The Woodlands Comments: We are growing web feet but all is fine. Hope everybody is happy and healthy.
Place: Richardson Comments: Vernon Moreland and I were at the BMF 5K today. No . . . we didn't run! We helped check-in the runners and get them their T-shirts. Beautiful Day!! Lots of fun!
Place: Richardson Comments: We're back in business!! Our electricity has been restored to the den & master bedroom. Yippee! Thanks to a long-time friend who came over and moved our very heavy dresser out from the wall so we could get to the elec plugs and unplug the shorted out radio. The clock radio is over 20 yrs old and when we experienced all that power surging on Sunday night it apparently shorted it out, which then caused the circuit breaker to trip. Once the culprit was removed the breaker worked just fine. We always say, "SOC Friends are the Best" and that hasn't changed. Thank you Jack Hawkins for coming over and helping since Don can't lift or move anything for another week. I appreciate you kiddo!!
Place: Richardson Comments: Yes, I too was unaware Jack Sanders had throat cancer. I'm shocked and saddened. We all should pray for his recovery as that's a tough one.
Place: Calif. Comments: Thanks, SNL for those meanings. My daughter's told me the "FML" one, so you don't have to go there. That's pretty tough reading about Jack Sanders. I know he's had a couple of set-backs over the past few years. I hope he does well.
Place: Melissa Comments: Great news. Sandy! Give Don our best! |
