Place: Lago Vista, TX Comments: Greetings, folks – I’m including the YouTube link for this year’s SOC '66 Vets slideshow: We’re still missing military photos from many vets who are still with us. I would appreciate your support in forwarding a copy of your favorite, if you haven’t done so already, so I can include it next time. May each of you enjoy a peaceful, reflective day of observance in recognition of all who served.
Place: Richardson Comments: Last Thursday, Nov. 6, it was 10 weeks since Don had his terrible bicycle crash. He's doing well, getting better each week and able to get more movement in both arms and hands. Been going to P.T. twice a week but next will be the last P.T. FYI - Reunion News - I'm going to start looking for a place to have our 60th Reunion. I want to keep it casual, fun and set up for lots of visiting with each other. Nothing fancy. My goal is to find a good place that doesn't break our pocketbooks. Hope to have that done by early next year, maybe by Feb, so we can lock-in a date and price.
Place: Very Windy in Richardson Comments: Time for an update. Tomorrow 10-30-25, will be 9 weeks since Don's bike accident. He's been going to P.T. twice a week since the 4th week. Each week we can see improvement. Most important, he's able to hold his regular coffee mug with a full cup of coffee!! ![[biggrin]](https://cdn.websitetoolbox.com/images/boards/smilies/biggrin.gif "Big Grin - :D") He's been able to drive to P.T. for several weeks but it's only 2.6 miles down the road from our house. He still wakes up in the the mornings with pain in his wrist and fingers but it gets better as day goes on. Bottom line, he's doing good, it's just going to be along slow road to full recovery. Considering what happened, just thankful he didn't kill himself or break his neck! Place: McKinney Comments: That is so sad to hear. She was a great friend. Of course the fact that she always said it was my fault that we skipped school one day. Always felt guilty about that later! sorry to hear about Don. Bobby said he should get a stationary bike! Our bodies do not recover as fast as they used to. Glad he is getting better.
Place: Jeanne Smith's Passing Comments: It pains me to let you know that our friend and classmate, Jeanne Smith, has passed away. Donnie Fugate recently found out and let me know. Her husband, Bill, passed away in March of 2024 and not too many months after that Jeanne was diagnosed with cancer. She began treatments at Thanksgiving last year and passed away in June of this year. RIP Jeanne.
Place: Richardson Comments: It was 6 wks this past Thursday, 10-9, since Don's biking accident. Fri we had 6 wk check up at surgeon's ofc. He's doing very good and the past 2 wks of PT has really helped. He has at least 2 more wks to go. Able to move his arms, hands and fingers much better now. They said he was actually about 2 wks ahead of what they thought he would be at this time! All of this has made things so much better. But will take time to fully regain movement and strength in both arms and wrists. Thank you all for your concern and kind words and prayers.
Place: OKC Comments: SNL/DON, PRAYING for you both. Glad the recovery is progressing steadily, even if too slow for your liking. (It probably would be for mine.) :-). It is clear that the path our world is pursuing requires our situational awareness unlike at any time in our lives. ‘’We just gots to be careful ‘out there’.” Praying that ALL our classmates avoid what used to be very unlikely happenings. Place: Richardson Comments: Nice to her from you Paul. I know and it worries me too. At least once a month we see on our local TV where a bicyclist was hit & seriously injured or killed. The worst part is on several of these incidents the driver of the vehicle ran the biker over ON PURPOSE! It was captured on the biker's helmet cam. This Thursday will be 6 weeks and he's now going twice a week to PT. He can move his fingers better and hold small things. Still a long way to go but it's going to get better each week. Thanks to you and so many who have expressed concern.
Place: OKC Comments: I am joining the “chorus,” Don. Just got a news flash on my iPad. Just had a 75 yr old bicyclist hit and killed by a car in Edmond. Ride in the house!

Place: SICK BAY Comments: Thank you Don L. Things are slowly starting to improve. It was 5 weeks this past Thursday, coming up on 6 weeks. Going to PT twice a week beginning this week. Fingers are starting to work better and slowly being able to bend both arms better. Well, how was it not having to get up and go to work this Monday morning??? Hope you are starting to unwind and just relax a bit. You put in so many years.
