Not that I'm complaining, but I was just channel surfing, flipped it on the Pro Bowl and saw Sean Lee?

Shortcake - I know it must be a long road to recovery, but no longer having to wear the sling is progress.  I'm sorry to hear your mom's condition is deteriorating so rapidly.  It's difficult to say the least.  Stay strong and continue with the love you are showing your mom.  Believe it or not, you'll remember these times more than you think.  She may not be able to convey her feelings, but she knows she is loved.

Glad to see that everyone survived the innuguration. I thought it was really great and absolutely loved the blue dress. Just sorry to see the protestors and damage they did. I did not vote for Obama either Sandy....but I did not go march and destroy property. And just so everyone is clear....the women's march the next day is no way representative of me. I would never have someone like Madonna represent me!
Still going to physical therapy and will be for a few more weeks. Still not allowed to pick up anything over 5 lbs with right arm but do not have to wear the sling anymore.
Mom seems to be going downhill fast. She does not talk hardly any at all. We think the congestive heart failure is wearing her out. It takes to much energy to get her breath and talk. It is sad and depressing. We try to have lunch with her as often as possible, although she does not eat much either. We have a girl that stays with her that is fantastic. She does a great job with her and mom likes her. Please keep her in your prayers.

Well, this is the "OMG, when will the hammering quit" week!     Monday they removed the gutters.  Tues they removed the shingles, put down the plastic like film and actually got 99% of new shingles done.  Today they are finishing the area around our chimney and painting the areas where the gutters were removed.

Hopefully by Friday all the new gutters will go up.   My head was pounding yesterday from all the noise that went on from about 8:15am until 5:45pm.  Those guys have a hard job!!  I'm thankful to have a new roof over my head!

Jack - I think it had to do with our defense not being able to get to him like the Atlanta defense did!   The Atlanta D sacked him a couple of times and knocked him down several more.  Should be a good Super Bowl.

I saw the funniest thing on FB.  A picture of a Cowboys protester carrying a sign that said, "Not My Super Bowl"  LOL  About as silly as the protesters with the signs saying Trump is not their president.  I guess I'm kind of stupid, but it seems they don't understand that just because they didn't vote for that person it doesn't mean he is not their president.  I didn't vote for Obama, but I did respect his office and the position.  I would never carry a sign or even tell someone that he wasn't MY president.  But, I'm kind of simple-minded . . .  it seems you vote and then whoever is elected has the job for 4 years and then you vote again.

Well me too Toni, especially since I spent time removing all the Christmas images and updating several paragraphs on different pages!!  When I read your note I went into the admin panel to see why the old stuff was still there.  If you don't click "Publish" after you do the updates it doesn't change!  Duh!   Thanks for letting me know ...  it is now updated!

Great to hear from Sally.  Maybe she will check in more often.  Good to hear from you, Sandy.  Hope you are feeling better after the end of our football season.  I was just curious to know why the "Merry Christmas" greeting was still on the home page.  I sure hope it's just an oversight and not that time of year already.  We just got our last load to storage - finally.  Sandy, my sentiments exactly from a political point of view - enough said.  Best wishes to Ada as she begins her physical therapy.

Good to hear from you Sally and glad you are enjoying retirement.  I love retirement!

But I know what you mean Sally . . .  the down side of retirement and getting older is it also signals the more frequent loss of friends and family.  Since our 40th a little over 10 yrs ago, we've lost several teachers who had attended the 40th.  Also, I've been notified and confirmed, 22 classmates that have passed away since our 45th reunion.

So, everyone enjoy your retirement and take care of yourselves physically and mentally and let's all make the most of this great time in our lives.  And as always, we stick together and support one another when one of us is hurting and in need of support.

Don't be shy, please post on the GB as I miss hearing from all of you!!

I am sorry ! I have not been here in a while.  Thank you for the birthday wishes and belated happy birthday to Toni!!!  I am sad to hear about Mike Dunn who shared my birthday.  I don't think we will get used to this happening.  Now that I am retired I feel both younger and older.  I see so much more joy in life now but these kind of things make me feel a little older and sad.
I should have been paying more attention to football before I started writing this. All I know is that the Cowboys are not going to the super bowl so I stopped paying any attention. If it is not the Cowboys or the Texas Rangers, I guess I don't care!  i know some of you do and I hope it all works out the way you want it.  Anyway, it seems to keep going on so ...
I hope everyone is enjoying winter!   It is actually quite beautiful in its starkness.
And, Sandy, AMEN to that!  We all want only the best for our country and you said it so well for us!

Yes they are Ada Ann!!  And the Pats will probably still be standing after the Super Bowl!  Congrats, I know you're thrilled!

I actually turned the TV on shortly after 8 this morning and watched while doing some other things.  I sat down and really took it all in the hour leading up to and including the swearing in.  It is still impressive and awe inspiring.  May God watch over us and give the new leadership wisdom and knowledge to protect America and get us on a sound and solid direction.

We had our three Hale grandkids yesterday and today. Went to Casey's basketball game at noon yesterday then Kathryn's basketball game at 2:30. Swung by Marsha and Jeff's to get their clothes, out to eat at Subway then to our house to spend the night. Played Pick up sticks and Fishing games.
As far as the Cowboys, we have the offense in place. Hope J.J. uses what money is available after he pays Romo's $20 million and gets two exceptional pass rushers; something we have lacked all season.
