Guess who's birthday it is on 3-18? ![[confused]](/images/boards/smilies/confused.gif "Confused - :confused:") 3-18 is the BBQ guru's birthday (Gordy Johnson) I'll bring some cupcakes and snacks and we can make it an even bigger party than usual!! We can celebrate SOC '66 and a good friends birthday at the same time.
Place: Dallas Comments: Marvin's nickname "Moon" is from the cartoon strip that was in the Dallas Times Herald and the Dallas Morning News. "Moon Mullins" Shirley calls him Moon all the time.
Place: Regarding Hyatt Rooms! Comments: Great Carol - glad you got it done and I really look forward to seeing you again. If anyone else wants a room at the Hyatt, please see my message about 2 posts below. $90 is a good rate and the hotel is very nice, but the rooms won't last long . . . so make your reservation if you need one. Place: Room Rates at Hyatt - Book Now Comments: I have gotten info back from the Hyatt & all you need to do is click the link below and select the dates you want. You can book either or both Fri & Sat nights for $90 per night. That's good for this Hyatt! Carol and others - Please go to this link and select the dates and then click "availability" and it should offer both King and Queen rooms at $90. Place: Dallas Comments: Sarah and I are planning to attend the mini. We will see Marvin and Shirley next week at Chrystal Beach. Will let them know.
Place: Rooms @ Hyatt for the Mini Comments: Carol - I was able to talk with my coordinator at Hyatt and made a plea for a discount for anyone wanting to stay Fri or Sat night for the Mini. He will be going to a meeting very shortly with the person who can approve the request. Hope to get email later today with info and I'll pass it on as soon as I get it.
Place: Richardson Comments: Carol - It's been a long time since anyone has ask about staying at the hotel during the Mini. My philosophy is . . . You never know until you ask! I'll put in a call and see what they might offer us.

Sammy and Sarah, hope to see you and hope that you will encourage Carl and Shirley to join us, too. Any SOC hotel rates this time, Sandy? Even though it's just exhibition games - BASEBALL IS BACK! So far - Royals 1 and Rangers 1. All fingers and toes crossed for this season, as I'm afraid it will be the last season as a Royals player for several of our stars. I wish that they would all be like George Brett - play here and retire here. The days of Brett's brand of team loyalty are practically gone, I'm afraid. Love to all - Carol

Place: Richardson Comments: We went o the visitation for Karen's mom last night. The previous Friday night we went to the visitation for Linda's husband. Hope this isn't a trend for Friday nights. Too many heavy hearts. On a lighter note . . . Don't forget about our Mini coming up next month on March 18th! The invite with all the info is on our Events pg. Everyone was clamoring for a mini and another reunion last September & October, but haven't heard much about anyone planning to attend this Spring Mini. Do hope lots of you attend as it will have been 6 months since our 50th reunion and would love to see y'all. |
