Spring has sprung, at least here in DFW area.  Starting today, we've got sunshine and temps beginning at upper 60s, tomorrow upper 70s and Wed & Thurs low 80s. [cool] The next 2 weeks look great with sun and good weather. [smile] Maybe winter has hit the road!!

Now that is funny!!  What are the odds of the same card, and I believe you told you each bought the card at different stores.  Glad it was a good Valentine's for you two.  Ours was good too. No flowers, he knows I'm allergic, but a good day with cards and nice dinner at Wildwood.

Sandy, that was a very nice message to everyone! Thanks for the update on Vernon’s wife. She’s had a lot on her plate. Here’s hoping that being home will be just what she needs!
I couldn’t let this go without sharing with everyone! Just how well do we know our spouse? On Valentine’s Day, he remembered…. I got a beautiful bouquet of roses, Lillie’s and baby’s wreath in a nice vase and a great card! He didn’t just think about it (inside joke) but he remembered! When we exchanged cards we both looked confused for a split second and then we both burst out in laughter! The joke was on both of us! We gave each other the same card!! How does that EVER happen? It made for a funny and absolutely great evening over dinner! It’s the little things after all!

To all my SOC Friends, especially the class of '66 . . . Want to express how much I have enjoyed the reunions and all the many Mini Get-Togethers we've had over the past 22 to 23 years!! Getting to know many of you I had only know as "passing in the halls" friends and others I've known for so many years.

Our class seems to be closer than some of the other classes and we have become known as "the friendliest and most welcoming" class!  Yes, friends from other classes that I see at their reunions or lunches tell me all the time how much they like our class because we always welcome them at our reunions and the Minis.  Your friendship has meant the world to me and I hope to keep seeing you this year at a Mini and maybe some lunches.  Happy Valentine's Day to my class of '66 Friends!!

Valentine's Day is next week.  Hope you can make plans for time with your sweetie.  We'll probably go to our favorite restaurant, have a JW Black and nice dinner. We'll be married 39 years on Valentine's Day!!  Don't know where all the years have gone.   Hope all of you have a good evening.

Hard to believe but it's already the end of January!  At least we've finally got some nice weather here in the DFW area this week.  Hitting mid-to-upper 70s yesterday and today!  [smile]  About time after the Big Chill and then the monsoon.

It's almost Valentine's Day.  Wish I had the energy to celebrate! [rolleyes]

Some good news regarding JoAnn Morelend!  Vernon said she had back surgery Wednesday and they removed more infection from her back.  Today she is talking and able to stand some.  It's a great improvement and hopeful she will be able to go to a rehab facility next week.

Thank you for the prayers and let's all pray she continues to improve!

Tanya, thank you for sharing that info.  I didn't know she had lost so many close to her in such a short time.  I can't imagine the heartbreak Mary Ann must be going through. I know she and Betty were close and having just lost her husband and best friend too, it's a lot for anyone to bear.  Will pray for her to have the faith and strength to go forward.

Sandy, I just wanted you all to know that Betty’s sister Mary Ann Tucker, class of 62, had lost her husband David Tucker recently last year, she just lost her best friend a few days before Betty (her younger sister) passed.  Please keep Mary Ann in your prayers as she is devastated.  They have one brother Robert left, but lots of grandkids and family.  Unexpected deaths are hard to take, but this one has her sis in shock.  Pleas pray for them.

I’m still reeling after hearing of Betty Gibbs passing. Knowing she is resting in the arms of Jesus now is a comfort. Prayers for her family left behind to morn her passing. Prayers also for Vernon’s sweet wife JoAnn to recover fully. Many thanks to Don L for his beautiful accounting of our heroic classmate Robert(Bob) Hook. It was very moving.

Wanted to give you what little we know about the passing of Betty Gibbs, class of '64. Her sister, Mary Ann, said she went to the hospital there in Sulfur Springs (that's where she lives) on Thursday.  They found she had blockage in some arteries going in/out of her heart. She was Care-Flighted to Dallas Medical City Hospital Friday.  She had a heart attack at 4:30am Saturday morning and passed away.

Betty was a very private person and until her sister or son post something on FB, please respect their privacy as they grieve. As soon as Peaches gets any add'l info, I will pass it along. We have lost a really wonderful Mom, Grandma to her G-dtr Rieley and good friend to many.
