Place: Sachse Texas Comments: Well, I guess it was just a matter of time. Got a text from Discover asking if I am or had been in San Antonio and ordered $80.00 from Domino's and $88.00 from Mr. Jim's and a couple of $1.00 charges. Told them NO, I have not been in San Antonio is quite a while. They closed the account and said I would not be billed and they are Fed Ex ing me a new card. Discover is my least used card, mainly for work. It is my billing card for Fed Ex, post office and parts I have to buy on line. All companies I know and have used for a long time. I did slip up and used it at Wildwood in Firewheel last month. That is a "new" restaurant. Not saying that is where the "lost" happened but I think I will let them know, just in case. I'm very pleased that Discover jumped on this. I always check my statements but this is at the beginning of the billing cycle so it could have gone on for a time before I would have caught it. I thought I was pretty careful with my cards but I does happen. Just sharing.
Place: CA Comments: Actually, the only potential catastrophe that does bother me is a fire. Floods, earthquakes, etc., don't have much of an effect on me. But, watching a fire close in can be......unsettling. That was the closest a fire came to my house. It was a few blocks away, and less as the crow flies (over the canyon, less than a mile). However, as close at is was, I never smelled smoke which told me the wind was actually in my favor, even though flags on houses seemed to tell a different story (yes, we fly the America flag in Calif.). At any rate, they put it out, and that's a good thing.
Place: Richardson Comments: Yeah! We had rain both Mon & Tue mornings. So wonderful. Richard - You live in such a pretty place, I guess a little smoke doesn't scare you. At least it wasn't volcano smoke and ash!
Place: California Comments: SNL, yes........all is clear.
Place: NH Comments: Her maiden name is Ribble.
Place: Edmond Comments: I remember her now. She used to hang out with Tommy Roe.
Place: 66erville Comments: Thanks, Dale. That is who I hoped she was/is. Thanks Ada. I looked in the juniors and soph. sections of the Dens and didn't find her there. I have a good memory for the girls I knew, but I don't remember her.
Place: NH Comments: Jack, Sheila graduated in 1967. She was a Bryan and Holmes gal.
Place: Richardson Comments: Richard - Has the smoke cleared from your area yet? Those were some scary photos you had on FB looking out your front door and seeing all the smoke so close!
Place: Edmond Comments: I am thinking she is the gal who used to say “lahbstuh” a lot.
Place: California Comments: ......oh yeah. That Sheila.
Place: Richardson Comments: Thanks Dale - now we know who we're looking for!
Place: Lazy S Ranch Comments: Sweet little Sheila, You'd know her if you seen her, Blue eyes and a pony tail. Her cheeks were a little rosy , she looked a little nosy. Man, that little girl was fine.
Place: Richardson Comments: We got rain this morning! Yea!!!! Sorry Jack - I've never heard that name at Lisbon, Zumwalt or SOC. Nor is she, under either name, on our graduating list. Probably from another class.
Place: 66erville Comments: Anyone know Sheila Reese Ribbie? I can't find her in any of our yearbooks and don't remember her from any of my schools. |
