Place: NH Comments: Home! Surgery went fine.....all of my plumbing was checked. Will get biopsy results next week
Place: Southern York County PA Comments: Hi Sandy!! I wish that I could make the upcoming event. Would so love to see everyone. Having company from South Carolina on the 22nd. I will be coming down the first or second week in October. My son just bought a house on Lake Granbury and I am going to visit him and then over to east Texas to visit my brothers and their families.. Will just be missing all of the fun on the 22nd, darn! Ada Ann, good thoughts and prayers coming your way..Yes, I know from first hand experience that radiation does a toll on ones body. You hang in there and I agree with others. Don't worry until they tell you to. Good health and much happiness to all!
Place: Richardson Comments: Ada Ann, will pray for a successful surgery tomorrow and quick healing along with good results. Much love to you!
Place: NH Comments: I just wanted to let y'all know that I am having bladder surgery tomorrow. The lining of the bladder will be cauterized and a sample will be taken to be biopsied. The radiation in 2009 did some damage....as the Urologist said, "Radiation is the gift that keeps on giving"!
Place: Sachse Comments: That is true, Richard, but it seems like a good way to go at this point in time.
Place: California Comments: Have a great birthday Jack. But, remember; too many of them can kill you.
Place: Sachse Comments: Thank you for the birthday wishes! I am lucky to have such good friends for so long.
Place: Richardson Comments: Have the two G-dtrs here this week but wanted to wish my long-time friend, Jack Hawkins, a very happy B-day today! Hope you have had a great day and maybe some cake too! Best wishes kiddo!!
Place: Richmond Comments: Carol I saw where our good friend Jack quoted me about only worrying about things we have the ability to control and the rest of things will happen or not and we can always find a way to cope with those result. That said you will be in all of our prayers as you await the word from the medical profession hoping for the best. The main reason I looked at the guestbook today to wish my good friend Jack a happy birthday, but I thought since he quoted me I should reinforce what he wrote.
Place: Sachse Comments: As our friend, Mr Tillery, reminds me, concern your self with what you have the power to change. Everything else is a waste of time and energy. Believe in the power of positive thinking. Carol, know you are loved by many and many are praying and planning for an excellent outcome.
Place: Richardson Comments: Carol, I agree with your assessment " if they suspected something really serious it wouldn't be 3 weeks"! I've had 5 BCCs removed in the last 2 yrs and 3 via Mohs. (no fun) Don't worry too much as P.A.s make assumptions that turn out to be untrue! I spent 4 months and 5 visits of wasted time and money with a P.A. only to find out nothing she said was true. Anyway, as Ada Ann says, don't worry until you have something to really worry about. Will pray for good results!
Place: NH Comments: Until you know the facts, don't make yourself crazy. Cancer is a scary word.....no doubt about it. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Place: KC, MO Comments: Well, here's the dermatological update that I promised in a Facebook post--although I don't know a whole lot yet. On Tuesday they shaved off (sounds worse than it was) a place on my nose and a place on my forehead. The P.A. said that she was all but positive that the spot on my nose is a basal cell carcinoma, which really is a fairly minor concern for me. While I know that BCCs can be bad, I had one removed above my left eye in 2001, resulting in a slight eyelid lift .The forehead issue is a little more worrisome. The P.A. said that while it doesn't look to her like a typical melanoma--she gave a three-word name for what it could be--and I have no idea what a typical melanoma looks like--the possibility that it is a melanoma is "in the back of her mind" (however that should be interpreted). Both samples were sent to a lab; getting the results back may take up to three weeks. Of course the lab results will determine what happens next. I'm hoping for only good news. The angel on my right shoulder keeps telling me 1) that the P.A. wouldn't have suggested a positive outcome if she really didn't think that such an outcome is a good possibility and 2) that the P.A. would be asking for the lab results to be delivered to her sooner than in three weeks if she thought that the absolute worst outcome were inevitable. At the same time, though, I'm afraid that I'm expecting bad news, partly because of my history of breast cancer but partly because of the timing. The devil on my left shoulder keeps making me think--as I have already told a dear SOC friend--"Getting ready to retire, to be able to do whatever/whenever--so why wouldn't I be destined for another round of surgery, chemo, radiation, etc., with no guarantee of 'beating it' this time?" In other words, a real pity party has been going on in my head (and sometimes leaking out of my eyes). So - That's what I know/don't know. No choice but to wait for more news. I'll pass along whatever I find out, especially if whatever comes next means that I won't be able to make the birthday party in September. (I'm really going to be ticked off if that is the case!) Love to all - Carol
Place: Richardson Comments: We just got in few minutes ago. Left at 8:30am and 1) Stopped at Hot Pancakes for Breakfast, 2) Went to the Federal Printing & Engraving Bldg for tour of how they make our money. It was great, we all liked it. They call it Ft Wth, but it is far north of dwntwn Ft Wth. Kinda in the boonies and surrounded by a double fence with barbed wire! All guards are armed! 3)Then on to Ft Wth Stockyards. Had lunch, looked around & bought souvenirs for boys and finally back home. Guess what they wanted?? Lassos! They're out front trying to lasso the mailbox. The week is up and sadly they go home tomorrow. Ada Ann - Try to look very sad, at least until the plane door shuts! So excited to see you!!!!
Place: Sachse Comments: OF Course I was talking about the catering manager, Seems like everytime you find a good one, by the time comes to do the work they are gone and the newbee knows nothing! Now I don't know about Sammy. You know how he is... probably Marvin's fault. |
