That's a tough read on Odis.  Known him since about the 3rd grade, I'd say.  I hope he does well.  He seems to have carved out quite the life-style for himself and his family.

This is not a message I want to post.  Heidi got in touch with me (she is Odis (Mac) McLean's step dtr & Karen's dtr) to say her step-day Odis McLean has been in the hospital since last week. He has been diagnosed with cancer that has spread to his liver.  Right now the liver cancer is what's shutting him down.  She went on to say that if they can't get his liver to start functioning he only has a few days. If it can start to function he may have a few months.

PLEASE think of Odis & Karen & their families and say prayers for his survival.  God Bless the McLean Family.

Paul - Here in TX, especially N. TX, we are dog paddling to keep our heads above water!  Since a few days before the party and right on thru now, we've seen only 2 days of sunshine.  It's pouring now & monsoon expecting right on thru Sunday with showers forecast for all of next week!  Seriously, roads flooded, several are shut down because water over the bridges, it's a mess.

I'm going to work on the photos that Don L & Ronney Mc sent me.  I appreciate it guys!!  Plan to create a new page for all our photos with sub pages for Old Photos,  Minis, Reunions, and of course, our 70th Party.  Not sure how just yet, but I'll figure it out.  Will let you know when I get something working that you can see.   Everyone please watch the roads and high water . . .  Don't get caught off guard.  It can be deadly!

GM, Sandy - Glad you're feeling better!  Saw your post after I got off work last evening, but was tired of computer work for the day.

Heading into town shortly, but will shoot you those pix beforehand.  Our older son, Greg & his girlfriend, Val, are coming up from Corpus for a weekend visit tomorrow.  They both live down there & work for Boeing at the Army's helicopter overhaul depot, located on the Naval Air Station.

It's Val's birthday, but Greg & I are taking the ladies out to the Roaring Forks restaurant in north Austin for dinner tomorrow evening.  Kathy has put up with a lot of my overtime due to project work schedules lately, but at least I was able to telework from home for most of it.  But, it chews up our time & I can't take that for granted, so I'm also picking up flowers while I'm out today.

So, I'll get you those pix & check-in again later.

checking in this morning.  TY Don, my L eye is getting better each day, just not quick enough for me!  LOL  If you'll send me those photos I'll see what I can do to post them here on GB.  I'm especially interested in the 20th reunion pic as 4 of the 9 listed have passed away.  Later . . .

Hi Sandy - Glad to hear your L 'peeper' is bouncing back & hope the next round goes as well on the R side.  With all you have to keep 'eyes on', we'd hate to see you lose sight of anything.  I guess that goes for all of us 'high maintenance' folks.

I called it a 'prom' photo, but it might've been a 'dinner/dance'.  Prom came to mind, so I went with it.  Maybe someone else out there will recall, or Zita might check-in & confirm the occasion.  I think we were all about to leave our lofty 6th grade perch at Oliver & become lowly shrimp at either Storey or Zumwalt, depending on where we lived.

I have a few other pix in the Oliver collection, including: 6th grade class "6A" '60, football team w/Coach Turner '60, 9 Oliver guys grouped at SOC '66 20th reunion (R. Bush, M. Dunn, J. Stoehr, L. Wilson, D. Hamm, myself, B. Egan, E. Richardson & H. Bass), and Dallas Morning News clip/photo of 6th grade class 'Law Day USA' w/V. Macon, M. Brand, T. Smith & others '60.

I also ran across a stray news clip/photo from '63 entitled "Awaiting The Big One".  It shows Boude Storey Jr. High Coach John Donaldson discussing plans for: "Saturday's city championship playoff game against Franklin with four of his players.  They are Robby Robertson, Tim Ulmen, Jerry Mott and Jerry Hopkins.  The Cobb Field game starts at 2 p.m."

If you want to post any of these or anyone else wants copies e-mailed, please let me know.

I'm back but can't stay on pc for long periods of time.  L eye went well, no problems.  Still little blurry but getting better each day. On 10-25 will see the retina specialist and hopefully R eye will be well enough to have cataract surgery on it 11-1.  The BRVO (branch retinal vein occlusion) was 95% cleared up on last months visit.  I just want to get this done soon as I've been working on it since May.

I love the Don & Zita photo!  I don't remember having a prom in 6th grade.  I do remember having a 6th grade dinner.  Y'all be good and I'll check GB & em 2-3 times a day but can't be on pc for extended periods of time.
