Place: LV, TX Comments: H a p p y A n n i v e r s a r y to Sandy Norman Lynn & Don Broughton, who ‘tied the knot’ on this date, Feb. 14th, at Wynn Chapel of Highland Park Church, Dallas, TX, in 1985.
Place: Allen, TX Comments: Rick, Don't feel too bad for not asking your mom who is in pictures or what something is. We are all guilty of that. My heart is with you. I think cleaning out my parents' house was one of the saddest, most stressful aspects of losing my parents. And remember, you have all of us SOC'66 gang you can call upon whenever you feel the need to talk to someone. We all love you. Ronney
Place: Sachse Comments: Rick, it has been a year since I lost Mom and I still haven't cleared out her house and sold it. It is a hard thing to do. There are so many things I would like to keep and no place to put them. Most are silly things that remind me of growing up. Things that have always been around me. Have a beautiful old dinning room suite that ought to be worth some money, but I have no idea who to contact about it. She bought a new king size bed not long before she moved in with us. What do you do with a slightly used bed? You're not alone, friend. One step at a time.
Place: Richardson Comments: Rick - You're not alone in feeling like that. This April will be 25 yrs since my Mom passed & my brother and I immeditely found out our Dad had Alzheimer's. We had no one to ask "What should I do with this?" "Where are all your financial records?". I basically had to jump in and work my way through a very different and new life. It was hard , but I slowly plowed my way thru. The point I'm trying to make is that we all have that sense of guilt in not doing what we later realize and wish we had. You were a wonderful and loving son and that's what counts. Take your time in making decisions of what to keep, what to donate and what to do with all the things you knew nothing about. Time gives us clarity and a better sense of calm and what to do. Take care my friend and know she knew you loved her!
Place: Dallas Comments: Thanks for all your kind words. Looking through mom's house I find things, I want to ask her what is this? Or who is in this picture? I should have done that before, but it's to late now.
Place: LV, TX Comments: H a p p y B i r t h d a y wishes go out to ‘Jedi’ Bob Bradford, today, Feb. 9th!
Place: LV, TX Comments: Dale - You really know how to dig up some jewels to our chuckles going. But, after a few minutes, I looked at this one again and decided to go out for a brisk walk - more often! Thanks for reminder, fellow old f@rt! ![]()
Place: LV, TX Comments: Rick - Getting caught up & still having a few PC issues. I'm very sorry to hear the sad news of your mom's passing - and so near to becoming a centenarian. As others have mentioned, the grief eases over time with the loss of a loved one. But, they're preserved in our hearts and minds thru all the memories of why we loved them. We all miss our moms, dads, siblings, children & grandchildren, and pray that we'll be reunited with them one day. May you & your family find peace in the memories of her love and knowing your SOC family prays for you at this time.
