Great respect to all those who are at, or close to, THE GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY. For many reasons, as you all know, not easy to get there. WELL DONE, my friends.

Happy Birthday to Jack and Paul and others I’ve missed the last several weeks. Congrats to all who are celebrating their anniversary. Sarah and I were married 50 years July 3rd and are preparing for our upcoming cruise Sept. 7-12. All the people in our wedding party are still alive and many are coming with us to celebrate ours.

Thank you, Jerry. I'll have that short one and look forward to us having a tall one soon. Thank you, Sandy too. It is great that we have been able to have many friends so long. You gotta work at it or it fades away and very hard to get it back. Congrats to Paul & Kathy. Happy Anniversary! Happy Birthday to Paul and great to hear you are doing better.

Happy B-day Jack!!  I guess we've known each other since elementary sch.  Maybe 1st, 2nd grade?  Wishing you a very Happy B-day and many more to come my friend!  Cheers! [thumb]

Congratulations Paul & Kathy on your 46th tomorrow!  And Paul, Happy 70th B-day on Monday! I believe that makes you the youngest in our class!  How'd you graduate in '66 and just now about to turn70.  Wow!  I know y'all will celebrate both occasions!

Thanks Jerry! It's my pleasure.  Even though most people don't post, I know they look!  And that's what's important.  This forum is where all important things about our class, our friends and our celebrations are posted.  So everyone, check it often so you'll know what's happening!

I have been away from the guest book for too long.  My thoughts and prayers for all those who have been battling various situations.  It is good to see that in some cases the prayers have worked or at least provided some comfort.  Unfortunately we are all getting to the age where health issues become more common so the thoughts and prayers of friends is a good thing.

I just want to thank Sandy for all the work she has done over the years providing all of us a place to keep in touch with our old friends and classmates.

Now for a lighter note, a Happy Birthday to my old and dear friend, Jack Hawkins.  I am proud to say he has been my friend for more than sixty years.  So, Jack have a short one for me and I know we will get together soon and have a tall one.

As Don L. said, we haven't had a lot of good or happy news here in awhile. Therefore, I could hardly wait to share this with you!  Got em from Paul Scholte today.  His bone marrow test came back with ZERO cancer cells.  That's terrific!  Now the Dr. can schedule the bone marrow transplant.  He thanked us all for the prayers and said to tell you, "The prayers worked!".

Congratulations Paul on a good test score and will keep praying for a successful transplant.

And yes, the joke made me smile!  Some times, simple is best.  [biggrin]

That's a funny one Don.  By the way, you should sign up to FB.  I have found it's a great way to not only express one's inner thoughts and feelings, but you can lose a number of friends along the way.  It really cleans up and simplifies your life.  Just sayin'.

...and kidding around

I know we haven't chuckled about anything on here for several days now, and the clouds may darken again at any moment.

So, I'm just gonna throw this out there, because I heard Kathy giggling about something and knew it was on FB, and I'm not, so she sent it to me.  Short, simple and a bit corny, but hey - I don't see any competition.

It's apparently a stressful note written in someone's diary while trying to diet and cut down on sweets: "Day 12 without chocolate - lost hearing in left eye"

That's it! [cool]
